LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards give you the best of both worlds with a ready-to-work construction and the stylish of popular nerf bars. They feature high-traction rubber treads, a sleek finish and a non-corrosive build -- all to give you dependable footing whether you're headed for work or play. MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" wheel-to-wheel running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, the CURT 571747 MEGA STEP is designed for 2015 and newer GM 2500/3500HD pickups with gas or diesel engines. It uses a body mount application and requires no drilling. Note: if you are installing on a 1500 pickup, you must also attach the small 90° bracket (Item #14) to the front brackets.
Yes. The rear outboard mounting bracket (Item #7) must be mounted to the rear inboard mounting bracket (Item #9) using different holes depending on whether you have a double cab or crew cab. See Figure 2 and Figure 3 in the manual for the correct hole configuration for your cab style.
Yes. The 571747 MEGA STEP is a no-drill application. It uses body mount attachment points and does not require drilling into the vehicle frame or body.
The kit includes: 3/8"-16 x 1.0" hex head screws (Item #13, qty 12), 3/8"-16 x 2" hex head screws (Item #18, qty 2), 3/8" serrated flange nuts (Item #11, qty 30), 3/8" flat washers (Item #19, qty 22), 1/2" flat washers (Item #20, qty 4), 3/8" self-locking nuts (Item #21, qty 2), rubber washers (Item #10, qty 6), and metal washers (Item #15, qty 2). You will also need to reuse the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts.
All fasteners required for the bracket assembly are included in the kit. However, you will reuse the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts from your vehicle. The manual does not specify whether you need to purchase additional fasteners beyond what is included.
Follow these steps in order: (1) Pre-assemble the front bracket on the left side with screws, washers, and nuts, torqued to 19 lb-ft. (2) Assemble the load reaction studs with rubber cushion washers and flange nuts. (3) Attach the load reaction stud assemblies to the mounting brackets. (4) Remove factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts and install the mounting brackets finger-tight. (5) Attach the rear outboard bracket to the rear inboard bracket. (6) Attach the spring hanger mounting brackets. (7) Install the step boards per their own instructions. (8) Tighten the load reaction bolt assembly. (9) Repeat steps 1–7 for the right side.
On the left side of the vehicle, assemble the front bracket (Items #2, #4) using three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (Items #13, #19, #11). Torque to 19 lb-ft. If installing on a 1500 pickup, you must also attach the small 90° bracket (Item #14) to the front brackets. See Figure 1 for the assembly diagram.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (Item #12), install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #11) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a 3/8" flat washer (Item #19) and rubber cushion washer (Item #10) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #11) backwards near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #11) on the outboard end of the stud, finger-tight only at this stage. See Figure 4 for the assembly diagram.
Remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts. Install the front mounting bracket (Items #2, #4) to the front body mount, leaving fasteners finger-tight. Install the center mounting bracket (Item #5) to the center body mount, leaving fasteners finger-tight. Install the rear mounting bracket (Item #9) and washer (Item #15) to the rear body mount, leaving fasteners finger-tight. Then attach the rear outboard bracket (Item #7) to the rear inboard bracket (Item #9) using three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (Items #13, #19, #11), torqued to 19 lb-ft. The rear outboard bracket must be mounted to the back side of the rear inboard bracket (towards the rear of the vehicle). Use the correct holes for your cab type (double cab or crew cab) as shown in Figures 2 and 3.
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough so that the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (Item #16) can be slid up behind the flange of the bolt. Position the inboard bracket behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. Using a 3/8"-16 bolt, 3/8" washer, 1/2" washer, and 3/8" lock nut (Items #19-21), install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (Item #17) so that the inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket. Leave these fasteners finger-tight at this time. See the manual figures for positioning details.
Install the step boards after attaching the spring hanger mounting brackets, following the instructions included with your step boards. Ensure that the mounting brackets do not touch the inside wall of the body mount housing, and torque the body mount fasteners to the manufacturer's specifications.
After installing the step boards, position the load reaction bolt assembly so that the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame. Then tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 lb-ft.
Yes. After completing steps 1–7 for the left side, repeat the same steps for the right side of the vehicle.
Torque the front bracket assembly (3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws with washers and flange nuts) to 19 lb-ft. Torque the rear outboard bracket assembly (3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws with washers and flange nuts) to 19 lb-ft. Torque the load reaction bolt assembly (3/8" flange nuts on either side) to 19 lb-ft.
The manual states that body mount fasteners must be torqued to the manufacturer's specifications but does not provide the specific torque value. Consult your GM service manual or contact the manufacturer for the correct torque specification.
The rubber cushion washer (Item #10) has an inside diameter of 0.354", an outside diameter of 1.00", and a thickness of 0.75". The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16".
Use caution when removing the body mount bolts on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra vehicles due to excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area. The thread locker may make removal difficult. Take your time and use appropriate tools to avoid stripping or damaging the bolts.
Ensure that the mounting brackets do not touch the inside wall of the body mount housing. Verify that the rubber cushion of the load reaction bolt assembly is snug against the side of the frame. Confirm that all fasteners are torqued to the specified values (19 lb-ft for bracket assemblies). Ensure that the step boards are installed per their own instructions.
CURT Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007–2017 Chevrolet GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle. Periodically check that all fasteners remain tight.
Yes, the 571747 MEGA STEP fits 2015+ GM 2500/3500HD pickups (gas or diesel). If you have a 1500 pickup, you must also attach the small 90° bracket (Item #14).
No. The 571747 is a no-drill application that uses factory body mount attachment points.
Yes, all bracket assembly fasteners are included. You will reuse the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts from your vehicle.
Torque all bracket assembly fasteners (front, rear outboard, and load reaction bolts) to 19 lb-ft. Torque factory body mount bolts to the manufacturer's specifications (consult your GM service manual).
