LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards give you the best of both worlds with a ready-to-work construction and the stylish of popular nerf bars. They feature high-traction rubber treads, a sleek finish and a non-corrosive build -- all to give you dependable footing whether you're headed for work or play. MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" wheel-to-wheel running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes. The 571747 MEGA STEP is designed for 2015 and newer GM 2500/3500HD pickups with gas or diesel engines. It uses a body mount application and requires no drilling. Note: if installing on a 1500 pickup, you must also attach the small 90° bracket (item #14) to the front brackets.
Yes. The 571747 is a no-drill application. It mounts directly to existing factory body mount bolts and spring hanger bolts without requiring any drilling, cutting, or permanent modifications to the vehicle.
Yes. The rear outboard mounting bracket configuration differs between double cab and crew cab applications. The manual notes there is a difference and directs you to use the correct holes as shown in figures 2 and 3. Ensure you identify your cab style before assembly.
The kit includes: 2 front mounting brackets (LH/RH), 2 front inboard brackets, 2 center mounting brackets (LH/RH), 2 rear inboard brackets, 2 rear outboard brackets, 6 double-ended studs (3/8"-16 × 4.00"), 6 rubber cushion washers, 30 serrated flange nuts (3/8"-16), 12 hex head screws (3/8"-16 × 1.0"), 2 ninety-degree brackets (for 1500 applications), 2 flat washers, 4 half-inch flat washers, 2 self-locking nuts (3/8"-16), and 22 flat washers (3/8"). See the service parts list for complete details and part numbers.
Yes. The manual explicitly states: 'READ INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL REQUIRED PARTS (LISTED ON SERVICE PARTS LIST) ARE ON HAND BEFORE STARTING THE INSTALLATION.' Verify all parts are present before beginning work.
Due to excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra, use caution when removing the body mount bolts. The thread locker may make removal difficult. Take your time and apply appropriate penetrating oil or heat if needed to avoid stripping bolts or fasteners.
On the left side of the vehicle, assemble the front bracket (items #2, #4) using three 3/8"-16 × 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (items #13, #19, #11). Torque to 19 lb. ft. If installing on a 1500 pickup, you must also attach the small 90° bracket (item #14) to the front brackets. Repeat for the right side.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #12), install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #11) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a 3/8" flat washer (item #19) and rubber cushion washer (item #10) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #11) backwards near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #11) on the outboard end of the stud, but leave it finger tight only at this stage. Do not fully tighten until step 8.
Remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts. Install the front mounting bracket (items #2, #4) to the front body mount and leave fasteners finger tight. Install the center mounting bracket (item #5) to the center body mount and leave fasteners finger tight. Install the rear mounting bracket (item #9) and washer (item #15) to the rear body mount and leave fasteners finger tight. All fasteners remain finger tight until step 8.
Attach the rear outboard mounting bracket (item #7) to the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #9) using three 3/8"-16 × 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (items #13, #19, #11). The rear outboard mounting bracket must be mounted to the back side (towards the rear of the vehicle) of the rear inboard mounting bracket as shown in figures 2 and 3. Be sure to use the correct holes—there is a difference between double cab and crew cab applications. Torque the bolts to 19 lb. ft.
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough so the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #16) can be slid up behind the flange of the bolt. Position it behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. Using a 3/8"-16 bolt, 3/8" washer, 1/2" washer, and 3/8" lock nut (items #19-21), install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #17) so the inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket. Leave these fasteners finger tight at this time.
Install the step boards as described by the instructions included with your step boards. Ensure that the mounting brackets do not touch the inside wall of the body mount housing. Torque the body mount fasteners to manufacturer specifications (see your vehicle's service manual for the correct torque value).
After all brackets and studs are installed finger tight, position the load reaction bolt assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame. Tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 lb. ft. Then torque the body mount fasteners to manufacturer specifications. Repeat steps 1–7 for the right side of the vehicle.
All 3/8"-16 fasteners on the 571747 MEGA STEP are torqued to 19 lb. ft. This applies to the front bracket assembly, rear outboard bracket assembly, and the load reaction stud flange nuts. The factory body mount bolts must be torqued to manufacturer specifications (consult your vehicle's service manual).
The rubber cushion washer (item #10) is 0.354" inner diameter × 1.00" outer diameter × 0.75" thick. The stud end must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16".
The load reaction studs (item #12) are double-ended, steel, 3/8"-16 × 4.00" long, zinc-plated. Six studs are included in the kit.
CURT Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007–2017 Chevrolet GMC Trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle. Check and re-torque leaf spring bolts periodically as specified by GM.
2015+ GM 2500/3500HD pickups (gas or diesel). For 1500 pickups, the small 90° bracket (item #14) must also be attached.
No. The 571747 is a no-drill application. It mounts directly to factory body mount and spring hanger bolts.
No. All required fasteners are included: screws, nuts, washers, studs, and brackets. You will use factory body mount and spring hanger bolts.
Yes. All mounting bracket fasteners are left finger tight until the final assembly step. Only then are the load reaction stud flange nuts and body mount fasteners fully torqued.
All 3/8"-16 fasteners are torqued to 19 lb. ft. Factory body mount bolts must be torqued to manufacturer specifications.
On 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra, excessive thread locker is present in the body mount bolt area. Use caution when removing these bolts to avoid stripping them.
Regularly inspect and maintain the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E. Re-torque leaf spring bolts to factory specifications periodically to prevent vehicle damage.
