LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards give you the best of both worlds with a ready-to-work construction and the stylish of popular nerf bars. They feature high-traction rubber treads, a sleek finish and a non-corrosive build -- all to give you dependable footing whether you're headed for work or play. MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" wheel-to-wheel running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, the CURT 571117 W2W MEGA STEP brackets fit 2011 and newer Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500, and 3500 Series pickups in Regular, Extended, and Crew Cab configurations. Confirm your truck's cab style and year to ensure compatibility.
Yes, the CURT 571117 W2W MEGA STEP brackets fit 2011 and newer GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, and 3500 Series pickups in Regular, Extended, and Crew Cab configurations.
Yes, the CURT 571117 fits Regular Cab pickups. However, Regular Cab applications use only the front and center mounting brackets (items #2, #3, #4, #5) and do not use the rear cab mounting bracket assembly.
Yes, if you are mounting the steps on a 1500 model pickup, you must attach bracket 551571 (item #23) to brackets 551902 and 551904 (items #2 and #3) in order to use the load reaction stud.
No, the MEGA STEP board assembly (item #1) is sold separately. The length will vary depending on your application.
The kit includes 16 square head screws (5/16-18 UNC), 16 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), 6 rubber washers, 12 flat washers (3/8"), 24 serrated flange nuts (3/8-16), 6 double-ended studs (3/8-16 x 4.50"), 6 bolts (3/8-16 x 1.00"), 2 hex head bolts (3/8-16 x 2.00"), 4 flat washers (3/8"), 4 flat washers (1/2"), 2 nylock nuts (3/8-16), 2 flat washers (.59 ID x 1.06 OD), and additional hardware. See the Service Parts List for complete details.
The manual does not specify whether the battery must be disconnected. Consult the vehicle manufacturer's service manual or a qualified technician for guidance on this step.
The manual does not specify which tools are required for installation. Contact CURT Manufacturing or a qualified installer for a complete tool list.
The manual does not specify whether a lift or lifting equipment is required. Contact CURT Manufacturing or a qualified installer for guidance on installation setup.

On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #16), install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #15) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a black 3/8" flat washer (item #14) and rubber cushion washer (item #13) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #15) backwards near the bottom of the threads.
Remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts, one side of the vehicle at a time. Regular Cab applications will not use the rear cab mounting bracket assembly, so only the front and center body mount bolts need to be removed for those trucks.
Install the front mounting bracket (items #2 and #3) to the front cab mount and leave the fasteners finger tight. Install the center mounting bracket (items #4 and #5) to the center cab mount and leave the fasteners finger tight. Do not fully tighten these bolts until all brackets are installed and the step is positioned.
Install the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #8) and washer (item #22) to the rear cab mount and leave the fasteners finger tight. Then install the rear outboard cab mounting bracket (items #6 and #7) to the rear inboard bracket using 3/8" black zinc plated bolts (item #17), washers (item #14), and serrated flange nuts (item #15). The rear outboard bracket must be mounted to the back side of the rear inboard bracket (towards the rear of the vehicle). Use the bottom single hole and bottom double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put the bolts through the front side so the serrated flange nuts are on the back side for frame clearance. Torque the bolts to 19 lb. ft.
Use the bottom single hole and top double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put the bolts through the front side so the serrated flange nuts are on the back side for frame clearance. Torque the bolts to 19 lb. ft.
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough so the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #10) can be slid up behind the flange of the bolt. Position the inboard bracket behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #9) so its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket, using 3/8" zinc plated bolts, washers, 1/2" washers, and 3/8" zinc plated nylock nuts (items #18–#21). Leave the fasteners finger tight until final assembly.
Insert four 5/16" square head screws (item #11) in the center slot on the underside of the step (or three screws if using cab length boards). Position the step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws are located in the center two slots of the brackets and the front of the step is about even with the rear metallic flange of the front wheel well. Locate the step in and out as desired and install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #12) on the square head screws. Tighten the nuts to 19 lb. ft.
If you are using cab length boards, insert three (3) 5/16" square head screws (item #11) in the center slot on the underside of the step, instead of the standard four screws.
After the step is positioned and the square head screws are tightened to 19 lb. ft., tighten the body mount bolts per manufacturer specifications, then tighten the spring hanger bolt per manufacturer specifications, and finally tighten all remaining 3/8" bolts and nuts to 19 lb. ft.
Torque the 3/8" bolts connecting the rear outboard cab mounting bracket to the rear inboard bracket to 19 lb. ft. This applies to both Extended Cab and Crew Cab configurations.
Torque the 5/16" square head screws (item #11) that attach the step to the mounting brackets to 19 lb. ft.
Torque all remaining 3/8" bolts and nuts to 19 lb. ft., except for the body mount bolts and spring hanger bolt, which should be tightened per manufacturer specifications.
Use caution when removing the body mount bolts on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra trucks due to excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area. Removing the bolts with excessive force may cause damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
CURT Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007–2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.

No, the MEGA STEP board assembly is sold separately. All mounting brackets and fasteners are included.
Yes, you must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side at a time) to install the mounting brackets. Use caution on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra trucks due to excessive thread locker.
Torque the rear outboard bracket bolts and step square head screws to 19 lb. ft. Tighten body mount bolts and spring hanger bolts per manufacturer specifications. All other 3/8" bolts and nuts are torqued to 19 lb. ft.
Regularly inspect and maintain the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E to prevent clunking noise and vehicle damage.
Use four 5/16" square head screws for standard applications, or three screws if using cab length boards.
