LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards give you the best of both worlds with a ready-to-work construction and the stylish of popular nerf bars. They feature high-traction rubber treads, a sleek finish and a non-corrosive build -- all to give you dependable footing whether you're headed for work or play. MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" wheel-to-wheel running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, the Model 571447 is compatible with 2015 GM 2500/3500HD pickups with gas engines. It is a rocker panel mount, no-drill application.
No. The Model 571447 is specified for gas-engine applications only. The manual lists 2014+ GM 1500 pickups (gas) and 2015 GM 2500/3500HD pickups (gas). Diesel models are not included in the application list.
No. The Model 571447 is a no-drill application. It mounts to existing holes on the rocker panel pinch weld and vertical wall. Plastic body plugs are removed and replaced with U-nuts and bolts.
The kit includes: step assembly (1), left and right mounting brackets (3 each), 5/16" flat washers (12), 5/16"-18 x 1.0" hex bolts (6), M8-1.25 serrated flange nuts (6), 5/16"-18 U-nuts (6), pinch weld support brackets (6), M8-1.25 x 30 mm hex bolts (12), rear inboard spring hanger mounting brackets (2), rear outboard spring hanger mounting brackets (2), 3/8"-16 x 2" hex bolts (2), 3/8" flat washers (4), 1/2" flat washers (4), and 3/8"-16 self-locking nuts (2). Step board assembly instructions are included separately.
The manual does not specify required tools. However, installation involves removing plastic body plugs, inserting U-nuts, positioning brackets, and tightening bolts to 19 lb-ft. Standard hand tools for bolt installation and torque application are implied.
Yes. On the left side of the vehicle, remove the plastic body plugs located on the vertical wall of the rocker panel. These are replaced with 5/16"-18 U-nuts (item #7) or, if threaded inserts are present in the upper location, with M8-1.25 x 30 mm bolts (item #9). Repeat this process on the right side.
1. Remove plastic body plugs from the rocker panel vertical wall and insert 5/16"-18 U-nuts (or M8-1.25 x 30 mm bolts if threaded inserts are present). 2. Position mounting brackets so holes align with rocker panel holes. 3. Install a 5/16"-18 x 1.0" hex bolt and 5/16" flat washer finger tight. 4. Install a M8-1.25 x 30 mm hex bolt, 5/16" flat washer, and pinch weld support through the hole, then install a M8-1.25 nut finger tight on the back. 5. Repeat for remaining brackets. 6. Repeat steps 2–4 on the right side.
1. Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #10) up behind the bolt flange. Position it with the channel open to the outboard side. 2. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #11) using a 3/8"-16 bolt, 3/8" washer, 1/2" washer, and 3/8" lock nut (items #12–15) so the inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket. Leave fasteners finger tight at this stage. 3. After the step board is installed and pressed down and back, tighten all mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft, starting with bottom bolts followed by top bolts.
1. Read instructions completely and verify all parts are present. 2. Remove plastic body plugs and install U-nuts on the left rocker panel. 3. Position and finger-tighten mounting brackets with bolts and washers. 4. Install pinch weld support and finger-tighten. 5. Repeat for remaining brackets. 6. Install spring hanger mounting brackets and leave finger tight. 7. Install the step board per its included instructions. 8. Press step down and back, then tighten all mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft (bottom bolts first, then top bolts). 9. Repeat steps 2–8 for the right side.
Leave all bolts finger tight during the initial installation of the mounting brackets and spring hanger brackets. Only after the step board is installed and pressed down and back should you tighten the mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft, starting with the bottom bolts followed by the top bolts.
All mounting bolts should be tightened to 19 lb-ft. Tighten the bottom bolts first, followed by the top bolts, after the step board is installed and pressed down and back.
Two bolt sizes are used for rocker panel mounting: 5/16"-18 x 1.0" hex bolts (item #5, qty 6) and M8-1.25 x 30 mm hex bolts (item #9, qty 12). The 5/16" bolts are used with U-nuts in standard holes. The M8-1.25 bolts are used if threaded inserts are present in the upper location.
Spring hanger mounting uses 3/8"-16 x 2" hex bolts (item #12, qty 2) with 3/8" flat washers (item #13, qty 4), 1/2" flat washers (item #14, qty 4), and 3/8"-16 self-locking nuts (item #15, qty 2).
Read the instructions completely and verify that all required parts listed on the service parts list are present before starting installation. The manual notes that hole configuration may change depending on the vehicle, but fasteners are provided for all applications.
