MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ford F150 (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.

Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.

No, drilling is not required. The installation uses existing mounting hole patterns located on the pinch weld and interior wall of the rocker panel. The U-nuts are installed in the existing top rear holes of the front and center patterns and the top front hole of the rear pattern.
Install the 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts (item 5) in the top rear holes of the front and center patterns and in the top front hole of the rear pattern. Insert the threaded half of the U-nut through the large access holes and slide it towards the round hole until it seats. The threads must face towards the inside of the rocker panel.
1. Install the 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts in the specified holes with threads facing inward. 2. Attach the three mounting brackets to the vehicle (for Super Cab) or attach the middle bracket with angle bracket (for SuperCrew). 3. Level the brackets before final tightening. 4. Attach the step board assembly to the mounting brackets using square head screws. 5. Tighten all fasteners to 19 lb-ft.
Position the three brackets so the top hole lines up with the multi-thread U-nut and the offset hole lines up with the hole in the pinch weld. Attach the top of each bracket with a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc-plated hex head cap screw (item 6) and 5/16" zinc-plated flat washer (item 7). Attach the bottom to the pinch weld with a 5/16" x 1.00" black-plated hex head cap screw (item 8), 5/16" black-plated flat washer (item 9), and 5/16" serrated flange nut (item 4). Level the brackets and tighten all fasteners to 19 lb-ft.
SuperCrew models require an additional angle bracket (item 10, part 551559). Attach the angle bracket to the middle mounting bracket with a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc-plated hex head cap screw (item 6), 5/16" zinc-plated flat washer (item 7), and 5/16" serrated flange nut (item 4), positioning the angle towards the multi-thread U-nut in the offset hole. Then follow the same attachment procedure as the Super Cab for the middle bracket.
Insert three 5/16" square head screws (item 3) into the center slot on the underside of the step. Position the step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the cab. Locate the step in and out as desired, then install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item 4) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft. Install serrated flange nuts on any unused square head screws in the inboard slot and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
All fasteners must be tightened to 19 lb-ft. This applies to the mounting bracket fasteners, the angle bracket fasteners (SuperCrew only), and the step board fasteners.
All fasteners are 5/16" diameter. U-nuts are 5/16" multi-thread (item 5). Hex head cap screws are 5/16" x 1.00" in both zinc-plated (item 6) and black-plated (item 8) versions. Flat washers are 5/16" with .375 ID x .875 OD x .083 thickness in both zinc-plated (item 7) and black-plated (item 9) versions. Square head screws are 5/16"-18 UNC (item 3). Serrated flange nuts are 5/16"-18 UNC (item 4).
