LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality. They have 5" wide treads that extend the full length of the side steps, and they feature a strong, lightweight aluminum core with a stainless steel trim for a bright, clean accent. MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ford F150 (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The Curt 570922 MEGA STEPS brackets are designed for 2009 and newer Ford F-150 Super Cab and SuperCrew pickups. The step board assembly length varies depending on your specific cab style and application. Verify your truck model year and cab configuration (Super Cab or SuperCrew) before purchasing.
Yes. Super Cab installation uses three mounting brackets attached directly to the vehicle (Section 3). SuperCrew installation requires an additional angle bracket (Item #10, part number 551559) attached to the middle mounting bracket before installation (Section 4). The angle bracket is positioned toward the multi-thread U-nut in the offset hole from the pinch weld hole.
No. The step board assembly (Item #1) is sold separately. The installation instructions cover only the mounting brackets and fasteners. You will need to purchase the step board assembly separately, and its length varies depending on your application.
The kit includes: 6 mounting brackets (551560), 6 U-nuts multi-thread 5/16-18 (104264), 8 hex head cap screws 5/16 x 1.00" zinc plated (100647), 8 zinc plated flat washers 5/16 (100034), 6 hex head cap screws 5/16 x 1.00" stainless black plated (106997), 6 stainless black plated flat washers 5/16 (106998), 22 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 stainless (102680), 6 square head screws 5/16-18 (106880), and 2 angle brackets for SuperCrew only (551559).
The manual does not specify which tools are required for installation. Contact the manufacturer or your installer to confirm what tools are needed to tighten fasteners to 19 lb-ft and to level the brackets during installation.
No. The installation uses existing mounting hole patterns located on the pinch weld and interior wall of the rocker panel. No drilling is required.
Install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts (Item #5) in the top rear holes of the front and center patterns and in the top front hole of the rear pattern. Insert the threaded half of the U-nut through the large access holes and slide it toward the round hole until it seats. The threads must face the inside of the rocker panel.
1. Install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts in the specified rocker panel holes with threads facing inward. 2. Attach the three mounting brackets to the vehicle (Super Cab) or attach the angle bracket to the middle bracket first (SuperCrew). 3. Attach the step board assembly to the mounting brackets using square head screws in the center slot. 4. Position the step centered front to rear on the cab, then tighten all fasteners to 19 lb-ft.
Position the three brackets so the top hole aligns with the multi-thread U-nut and the offset hole aligns with the pinch weld hole. Attach the top with a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc plated hex head cap screw (Item #6) and 5/16" zinc plated flat washer (Item #7). Attach the bottom to the pinch weld with a 5/16" x 1.00" black plated hex head cap screw (Item #8), 5/16" black plated flat washer (Item #9), and 5/16" serrated flange nut (Item #4). Level the brackets and tighten all fasteners to 19 lb-ft.
Attach the angle bracket (Item #10, part number 551559) to the mounting bracket (Item #2) with a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc plated hex head cap screw (Item #6), 5/16" zinc plated flat washer (Item #7), and 5/16" serrated flange nut (Item #4). Position the angle bracket toward the multi-thread U-nut in the hole offset from the pinch weld hole. Then follow the standard bracket attachment procedure (Section 3.1) using the angle bracket.
Insert three 5/16" square head screws (Item #3) in the center slot on the underside of the step. Position the step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the cab. Locate the step in and out as desired, then install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #4) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft. Install serrated flange nuts on any unused square head screws in the inboard slot and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
All fasteners must be tightened to 19 lb-ft. This applies to the bracket mounting fasteners, the angle bracket fasteners (SuperCrew only), and the step board assembly fasteners.
All fasteners are 5/16" diameter. U-nuts are 5/16" multi-thread (Item #5). Hex head cap screws are 5/16" x 1.00" (Items #6 and #8). Flat washers are 5/16" (Items #7 and #9). Serrated flange nuts are 5/16-18 UNC (Item #4). Square head screws are 5/16-18 UNC (Item #3).
The manual does not specify whether battery disconnection is required. Contact the manufacturer or your installer to confirm whether any electrical precautions are necessary.
The manual does not specify a weight capacity or load rating for the step. Contact the manufacturer for this critical safety information before use.
Verify that all brackets are level before final tightening. Ensure the step is centered front to rear on the cab. Confirm that all fasteners are tightened to 19 lb-ft. The manual does not specify post-installation inspection steps beyond these. Contact the manufacturer for any additional checks or maintenance intervals.
The manual does not specify retorque intervals or maintenance requirements. Contact the manufacturer to confirm whether fasteners should be checked or retorqued after initial installation or at regular intervals.
