They are also capped on each end with contoured end caps, giving them a professional look and added protection against small rocks and road debris. Both the step pads and end caps are factory-installed and securely bolted in place. To make sure these deluxe side steps maintain their classy appearance, we construct them from stainless steel. This gives them the durability to outlast rust through every season of the year, and the strength to be offer reliable footing with every climb. They are available in a high-polish stainless steel finish for a bright, eye-catching shine or a durable black powder coat for a tough, no-nonsense accent. When it comes to our Regal 7 oval side steps, we don't trust anyone else to build them with uncompromising quality. We design each one for a vehicle-specific fit. This particular set of side steps is designed to fit specific years of the Ford F150 (see application information to verify vehicle fitment). They install using a 3" wide channel on the bottom side and high-strength steel brackets with a durable black powder coat finish (NOTE: The mounting brackets for these steps are included but shipped separately).

Yes, drilling is required. You must drill an 11/32" hole in the pinch weld area to line up with the bottom hole in the bracket, and a 7/32" hole into the top of the rocker panel for the self-tapping screw. The brackets must be clamped into position approximately 6" from the back of the cab and 6" from the front of the cab before drilling.
Super Cab installation uses two center mounting brackets (item #1) attached to the vehicle with specific fastener patterns. SuperCrew installation uses the second-from-front mounting bracket (item #1) with an angle bracket (item #6) attached to it. The angle bracket is positioned with the angle towards the multi-thread U-nut. Both require U-nuts to be pre-installed in the rocker panel.
Multi-thread U-nuts (item #5, part number 104264) are threaded fasteners that must be pre-installed in the rocker panel before bracket installation. Install them in the top rear hole of the second pattern from the front and in the top front hole of the third pattern from the front, with threads facing inside the rocker panel. They are inserted through large access holes and slid towards the round hole until seated.
The bottom of the bracket is attached to the pinch weld using a 5/16" x 1.00" black plated hex head cap screw (item #2), 5/16" black plated flat washer (item #3), and 5/16" serrated flange nut (item #4). These fasteners must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
The top of the bracket is attached using a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc plated hex head cap screw (item #7) and 5/16" zinc plated flat washer (item #8). These fasteners must be torqued to 19 LB FT. For SuperCrew cabs, an angle bracket (item #6) is attached first using the same fastener type plus a 5/16" serrated flange nut (item #4).
A 7/32" hole must be drilled into the top of the rocker panel. A self-tapping screw (item #9, 5/16" x 3/4") is then installed into this hole. Be careful not to over-tighten the self-tapping screw.
The front and rear brackets should be positioned approximately 6" from the back of the cab and 6" from the front of the cab. Clamp the brackets into position before drilling. For center brackets, position them so the top hole lines up with the multi-thread U-nut and the offset hole lines up with the hole in the pinch weld.
After attaching the brackets with fasteners, you must level them before fully tightening all bolts. This ensures the brackets are properly aligned and the step will sit evenly on the vehicle.
The bracket package includes: 8 mounting brackets (item #1), 8 hex head cap screws 5/16-18 x 1.00" black plated (item #2), 8 flat washers 5/16" black plated (item #3), 10 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (item #4), 4 multi-thread U-nuts 5/16-18 (item #5), 2 angle brackets (item #6), 6 hex head cap screws 5/16-18 x 1.00" zinc plated (item #7), 6 flat washers 5/16" zinc plated (item #8), and 4 self-tapping screws 5/16" x 3/4" (item #9).
Black plated fasteners (items #2, #3) are used for the bottom bracket attachment to the pinch weld. Zinc plated fasteners (items #7, #8) are used for the top bracket attachment to the rocker panel. Both types must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
