This, combined with the classic styling of popular nerf bars, allows Regal 7 oval side steps to easily live up to their name. Each is set with full-width step pads that offer a non-skid surface for ultimate comfort and safety. They are also capped on each end with contoured end caps, giving them a professional look and added protection against small rocks and road debris. Both the step pads and end caps are factory-installed and securely bolted in place. To make sure these deluxe side steps maintain their classy appearance, we construct them from stainless steel. This gives them the durability to outlast rust through every season of the year, and the strength to be offer reliable footing with every climb. They are available in a high-polish stainless steel finish for a bright, eye-catching shine or a durable black powder coat for a tough, no-nonsense accent. When it comes to our Regal 7 oval side steps, we don't trust anyone else to build them with uncompromising quality. We design each one for a vehicle-specific fit. This particular set of side steps is designed to fit specific years of the Ford F150 (see application information to verify vehicle fitment). They install using a 3" wide channel on the bottom side and high-strength steel brackets with a durable black powder coat finish (NOTE: The mounting brackets for these steps are included but shipped separately).

The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.

The REGAL 7 OVAL STEPS (models 477078, 477088, 477098) come pre-assembled from the factory. The package includes the step assembly with end caps, step pads, mounting hardware (bolts, washers, nuts), and support mounting plates. The serial number label is located on the front inside driver's side step assembly. You will also need to obtain the appropriate bracket package separately to mount the steps to your vehicle.
The MODEL 400922 STEP BRACKET is designed specifically for 2004 Ford F-150 Super Cab and SuperCrew Cab pickups only. If you have a different year, make, model, or cab style, this bracket will not fit. You will need to verify your vehicle's year and cab configuration before purchasing.
Three step lengths are available: 76" (model 477078), 86" (model 477088), and 96" (model 477098). The 76" and 86" models come as left and right pairs. The 96" model is available as a left-hand only (model 477098) or right-hand only (model 477098 RH). Verify your vehicle's requirements before selecting a length.
The manual requires drilling capability to install the brackets. Specifically, you will need to drill an 11/32" hole in the pinch weld area and a 7/32" hole in the rocker panel. A drill press or hand drill with these bit sizes is necessary. Standard wrenches or sockets for 5/16" fasteners are also required. The manual does not specify other tools needed.
For Super Cab models, the front and rear brackets should be positioned approximately 6" from the back of the cab and 6" from the front of the cab. The center two mounting brackets are attached to the vehicle with the top hole lining up with the multi-thread U-nut installed in the rocker panel, and the bottom hole lining up with the hole in the pinch weld. Clamp the brackets into position and level them before final tightening.
SuperCrew Cab models require an angle bracket (item #6) to be attached to the mounting bracket (item #1) using a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc-plated hex head cap screw, washer, and serrated flange nut. The angle bracket is positioned with the angle towards the multi-thread U-nut in the hole offset from the pinch weld hole. Super Cab models do not use an angle bracket.
Yes, drilling is required. You must drill an 11/32" hole in the pinch weld area to line up with the bottom hole in the bracket, and a 7/32" hole into the top of the rocker panel. These are permanent modifications to your vehicle. Clamp the brackets into position before drilling to ensure accurate hole placement.

1. Set the step on the mounting brackets. 2. Slide each support mounting plate (item #9) inside the oval step and above each bracket. 3. Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolt, washer, and serrated flange nut (items #10, #11, #12), attach the step assembly, support mounting plate, and mounting bracket together. 4. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
The support mounting plates (item #9) are positioned inside the oval step and above each bracket to distribute the load and provide structural support when the step is attached to the mounting brackets. There are 8 support mounting plates included in the service parts list.
Yes. Before installing the brackets, you must install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts (item #5) in the rocker panel: one in the top rear hole of the second pattern from the front, and one in the top front hole of the third pattern from the front. Insert the threaded half of the U-nut through the large access holes and slide it towards the round hole until it seats. The threads must face the inside of the rocker panel.
The bottom of the bracket is attached to the pinch weld using a 5/16" x 1.00" black-plated hex head cap screw (item #2), a 5/16" black-plated flat washer (item #3), and a 5/16" serrated flange nut (item #4). These fasteners must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
The top of the bracket is attached to the rocker panel U-nuts using a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc-plated hex head cap screw (item #7) and a 5/16" zinc-plated flat washer (item #8). These fasteners must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
A 5/16" x 3/4" self-tapping screw (item #9) is installed into the 7/32" hole drilled in the top of the rocker panel. This screw provides additional attachment security. The manual cautions not to over-tighten this screw.
After positioning the brackets and before final tightening, level the brackets to ensure the step assembly will be properly aligned and functional. The manual specifies leveling in sections 3.2 and 4.1 but does not provide specific leveling instructions or tools.
