Not everyone understands the status that comes with owning a full-size truck or SUV, but for those who do, LUVERNE Regal 7 oval side steps are the side accessory of choice. They are the largest oval nerf bars on the market, featuring a patented design, non-skid step pads and a sleek nerf bar styling. Built on the idea that a deluxe ride needs a deluxe entrance, these 7" ovals have a width comparable to some of the largest running boards available. This, combined with the classic styling of popular nerf bars, allows Regal 7 oval side steps to easily live up to their name. Each is set with full-width step pads that offer a non-skid surface for ultimate comfort and safety. They are also capped on each end with contoured end caps, giving them a professional look and added protection against small rocks and road debris. Both the step pads and end caps are factory-installed and securely bolted in place. To make sure these deluxe side steps maintain their classy appearance, we construct them from stainless steel. This gives them the durability to outlast rust through every season of the year, and the strength to be offer reliable footing with every climb. They are available in a high-polish stainless steel finish for a bright, eye-catching shine or a durable black powder coat for a tough, no-nonsense accent. When it comes to our Regal 7 oval side steps, we don't trust anyone else to build them with uncompromising quality. We design each one for a vehicle-specific fit. This particular set of side steps is designed to fit specific years of the Ford F150 and Lincoln Mark LT (see application information to verify vehicle fitment). They install using a 3" wide channel on the bottom side and high-strength steel brackets with a durable black powder coat finish (NOTE: The mounting brackets for these steps are included but shipped separately).

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Curt Manufacturing offers three REGAL 7 OVAL STEPS models: Model 477078 (76" length), Model 477088 (86" length), and Model 477098 (96" length). Each step comes pre-assembled from the factory with the serial number label located on the front inside driver's side step assembly. The steps are sold as boards only and require separate mounting brackets for installation.
The MODEL 400922 STEP BRACKET is designed specifically for 2004 Ford F-150 Super Cab and SuperCrew Cab pickups only. If you have a different vehicle model, year, or cab style, this bracket will not fit. You will need to use the appropriate bracket package designed for your specific vehicle.
The REGAL 7 OVAL STEPS include: 16 hex head cap screws (5/16-18 x 1.0", stainless steel, black), 16 flat washers (5/16", stainless steel, black), and 16 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18, stainless steel). These fasteners attach the step assembly to the mounting brackets via support mounting plates. Additional fasteners are included with the separate bracket package.
The manual does not specify which tools are required for installation. You will need tools to drill holes (11/32" and 7/32" bits for the bracket installation), clamp the brackets into position, and tighten fasteners. A torque wrench capable of measuring 19 LB FT is required to properly torque all 5/16" fasteners. Contact the manufacturer or your installer for a complete tool list.
Yes. The manual states you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle. The step assembly instructions cover only attaching the pre-assembled step to the mounting brackets. You will receive separate detailed instructions for your bracket package (such as the MODEL 400922 for 2004 Ford F-150 Super Cab/SuperCrew Cab).
Yes. The manual requires that you read all instructions completely and verify that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand before starting installation. This prevents delays and ensures you have everything needed to complete the job.
Yes, drilling is required. You must drill an 11/32" hole in the pinch weld area to align with the bottom hole in the bracket, and a 7/32" hole into the top of the rocker panel. The brackets must be clamped into position approximately 6" from the back of the cab and 6" from the front of the cab before drilling.
Drill an 11/32" hole in the pinch weld area to line up with the bottom hole in the bracket. This hole is used to attach the bottom of the bracket to the pinch weld using a 5/16" x 1.00" hex head cap screw, flat washer, and serrated flange nut.
Drill a 7/32" hole into the top of the rocker panel. A self-tapping screw (item #9) is then installed into this hole. The manual cautions to be careful not to over-tighten the self-tapping screw.
1. Set the step on the mounting brackets. 2. Slide each support mounting plate (item #9) inside the oval step and above each bracket. 3. Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolt, washer, and serrated flange nut (items #10, #11, #12), attach the step assembly, support mounting plate, and mounting bracket. 4. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
Install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts (item #5) in two locations: in the top rear hole of the second pattern from the front, and in the top front hole of the third pattern from the front. The threads must face toward the inside of the rocker panel. Insert the threaded half of the U-nut through the large access holes and slide it toward the round hole until it seats.
The front and rear brackets must be positioned approximately 6" from the back of the cab and 6" from the front of the cab. The center two mounting brackets (item #1) are attached to the vehicle with the top hole lining up with the multi-thread U-nut and the offset hole lining up with the hole in the pinch weld. Clamp the brackets into position before drilling.
Yes. For SuperCrew Cab models, you must attach an angle bracket (item #6) to the mounting bracket (item #1) using a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc-plated hex head cap screw (item #7), 5/16" zinc-plated flat washer (item #8), and 5/16" serrated flange nut (item #4), with the angle facing toward the multi-thread U-nut. Then follow the same procedure as the Super Cab installation for the second bracket from the front.
All 5/16" fasteners must be torqued to 19 LB FT. This applies to the hex bolts attaching the step assembly to the mounting brackets, and all bracket fasteners on the 2004 Ford F-150.
Use a 5/16" x 1.00" black-plated hex head cap screw (item #2), 5/16" black-plated flat washer (item #3), and 5/16" serrated flange nut (item #4). These fasteners attach through the 11/32" hole drilled in the pinch weld. Torque to 19 LB FT.
Use a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc-plated hex head cap screw (item #7) and 5/16" zinc-plated flat washer (item #8). These fasteners attach through the top hole of the bracket to the multi-thread U-nut installed in the rocker panel. Torque to 19 LB FT.
A 5/16" x 3/4" self-tapping screw (item #9) is installed into the 7/32" hole drilled in the top of the rocker panel. The manual cautions to be careful not to over-tighten this screw.
Yes. After attaching the fasteners, you must level the brackets and then tighten all bolts. This applies to both the front and rear brackets and the center mounting brackets on the 2004 Ford F-150.
The MODEL 400922 bracket fits 2004 Ford F-150 Super Cab and SuperCrew Cab pickups only. If you have a different cab style or year, you need a different bracket package.
Yes. You must drill an 11/32" hole in the pinch weld and a 7/32" hole in the rocker panel. Brackets must be clamped into position approximately 6" from the back and front of the cab before drilling.
Torque all 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT. This applies to both the step assembly attachment and all bracket fasteners.
Yes. You must follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package (such as the MODEL 400922 for 2004 Ford F-150) in addition to the step assembly instructions.
Use the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolts, washers, and serrated flange nuts (items #10, #11, #12). Torque to 19 LB FT.
