Built on the idea that a deluxe ride needs a deluxe entrance, these 7" ovals have a width comparable to some of the largest running boards available. This, combined with the classic styling of popular nerf bars, allows Regal 7 oval side steps to easily live up to their name. Each is set with full-width step pads that offer a non-skid surface for ultimate comfort and safety. They are also capped on each end with contoured end caps, giving them a professional look and added protection against small rocks and road debris. Both the step pads and end caps are factory-installed and securely bolted in place. To make sure these deluxe side steps maintain their classy appearance, we construct them from stainless steel. This gives them the durability to outlast rust through every season of the year, and the strength to be offer reliable footing with every climb. They are available in a high-polish stainless steel finish for a bright, eye-catching shine or a durable black powder coat for a tough, no-nonsense accent. When it comes to our Regal 7 oval side steps, we don't trust anyone else to build them with uncompromising quality. We design each one for a vehicle-specific fit. This particular set of side steps is designed to fit specific years of the Ford F150 and Lincoln Mark LT (see application information to verify vehicle fitment). They install using a 3" wide channel on the bottom side and high-strength steel brackets with a durable black powder coat finish (NOTE: The mounting brackets for these steps are included but shipped separately).

Curt Manufacturing offers three REGAL 7 OVAL STEPS models: Model 477078 (76" length), Model 477088 (86" length), and Model 477098 (96" length). Each step is pre-assembled from the factory with the serial number label located on the front inside driver's side step assembly. The steps are sold as boards only and require separate mounting brackets for installation.
The MODEL 400922 STEP BRACKET is designed specifically for 2004 Ford F-150 Super Cab and SuperCrew Cab pickups only. If you have a different model year or cab style, this bracket will not fit. Consult the bracket package instructions or contact the manufacturer to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle.
The REGAL 7 OVAL STEPS include: 16 hex head cap screws (5/16-18 x 1.0", stainless steel, black), 16 flat washers (5/16", stainless steel, black), and 16 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18, stainless steel). These fasteners attach the step assembly to the mounting brackets via support mounting plates. Additional fasteners are included in the separate bracket package.
The bracket package includes: 8 hex head cap screws (5/16-18 UNC x 1.00", stainless steel, black zinc plated), 8 flat washers (5/16", stainless steel, black zinc plated), 10 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18, stainless steel), 4 multi-thread U-nuts (5/16-18 UNC, steel, black), 2 angle brackets (for SuperCrew only), 6 hex head cap screws (5/16-18 UNC x 1.00", zinc plated), 6 flat washers (5/16", steel, zinc plated), and 4 self-tapping screws (5/16" x 3/4").
Installation must follow this sequence: (1) Read all instructions and verify all required parts are present. (2) Install the mounting brackets to your vehicle following the bracket-specific instructions. (3) Set the pre-assembled step on the mounting brackets. (4) Slide each support mounting plate (item #9) inside the oval step and above each bracket. (5) Attach using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" hex bolts, washers, and serrated flange nuts. (6) Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
For Super Cab models, follow this sequence: (1) Install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts in the rocker panel—one in the top rear hole of the second pattern from front, one in the top front hole of the third pattern from front, with threads facing inside. (2) Install front and rear brackets approximately 6" from the back and front of the cab. (3) Clamp brackets in position, drill 11/32" hole in pinch weld, and attach bottom with 5/16" x 1.00" black hex cap screw, washer, and serrated flange nut. (4) Drill 7/32" hole in rocker panel top and install self-tapping screw. (5) Attach center two mounting brackets using U-nuts and pinch weld holes. (6) Level all brackets and tighten fasteners to 19 LB FT.
For SuperCrew Cab models, follow this sequence: (1) Install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts in the rocker panel—one in the top rear hole of the second pattern from front, one in the top front hole of the third pattern from front, with threads facing inside. (2) Install front and rear brackets approximately 6" from the back and front of the cab. (3) Clamp brackets in position, drill 11/32" hole in pinch weld, and attach bottom with 5/16" x 1.00" black hex cap screw, washer, and serrated flange nut. (4) Drill 7/32" hole in rocker panel top and install self-tapping screw. (5) Attach the second-from-front mounting bracket with an angle bracket using 5/16" x 1.00" zinc hex cap screw, washer, and serrated flange nut, with angle towards the U-nut. (6) Level all brackets and tighten fasteners to 19 LB FT.
Yes, drilling is required. You must drill two holes: (1) an 11/32" hole in the pinch weld area to align with the bottom hole in the bracket, and (2) a 7/32" hole into the top of the rocker panel for the self-tapping screw. These holes are permanent modifications to the vehicle.
Clamp the bracket into position first. The 11/32" hole must be drilled in the pinch weld area to line up with the bottom hole in the bracket. This hole is used to attach the bottom of the bracket to the pinch weld with a 5/16" x 1.00" black plated hex head cap screw, washer, and serrated flange nut.
Drill the 7/32" hole into the top of the rocker panel. This hole receives a self-tapping screw (item #9). Be careful not to over-tighten the self-tapping screw when installing it.
All 5/16" fasteners used to attach the REGAL 7 OVAL STEPS to the mounting brackets must be torqued to 19 LB FT. This includes the 5/16-18 x 1" hex bolts, washers, and serrated flange nuts that attach the step assembly to the support mounting plates and brackets.
All 5/16" fasteners used to attach the MODEL 400922 STEP BRACKETS to the vehicle must be torqued to 19 LB FT. This applies to all hex head cap screws, washers, and serrated flange nuts used in the bracket installation.
Set the step on the mounting brackets, then slide each support mounting plate (item #9) inside the oval step and position it above each bracket. The support mounting plates are then secured using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" hex bolts, washers, and serrated flange nuts that pass through the plate, step, and bracket.
Install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts in the rocker panel before attaching the brackets. Position one U-nut in the top rear hole of the second pattern from the front, and one in the top front hole of the third pattern from the front. Insert the threaded half of each U-nut through the large access holes and slide it towards the round hole until it seats. The threads must face to the inside of the rocker panel.
The front and rear brackets must be positioned approximately 6" from the back of the cab and 6" from the front of the cab. The center mounting brackets are positioned to align with the multi-thread U-nuts installed in the rocker panel.
Yes, you must level the brackets before final tightening. After clamping the brackets into position and drilling the required holes, level the brackets and then tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
The angle bracket (item #6) is used only on SuperCrew Cab models. For SuperCrew, attach the angle bracket to the second-from-front mounting bracket using a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc hex cap screw, washer, and serrated flange nut, with the angle oriented towards the multi-thread U-nut. Super Cab models do not use an angle bracket.
When installing the self-tapping screw (item #9) into the 7/32" hole in the rocker panel top, be careful not to over-tighten. Over-tightening can damage the rocker panel or strip the screw.
After installation, verify that the step plate is in the correct position and that all fasteners are tightened to 19 LB FT. Ensure the step is level and secure before use. The manual does not specify additional post-installation checks or maintenance intervals.
