Regal 7 wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for practical access to the bed of your truck, featuring an extended length and extra rear step pads. Wheel-to-wheel running boards give you a solid step up for easily reaching items in the truck bed, such as a truck tool box, ladder rack, 5th wheel hitch or other equipment. Regal 7 oval side steps are fitted with large, non-skid step pads. They feature a 7" width and a textured surface, providing enhanced comfort and safety when climbing in and out of your pickup truck. The step pads and matching end caps of Regal 7 wheel-to-wheel steps are angled for a sleek accent. To ensure excellent strength and lasting corrosion resistance, Regal 7 oval side steps are constructed from stainless steel. The stainless steel tubing measures 7" wide and has an elliptical shape for style and strength. All Regal 7 side steps are designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific brackets. The brackets are built from strong carbon steel and have a durable black powder coat finish. They install using pre-existing mounting points on the truck to greatly reduce installation time and eliminate tedious modifications. This particular set of LUVERNE Regal 7 oval wheel-to-wheel steps is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).

The Regal 7 Oval Steps come pre-assembled from the factory. The package includes the step assembly, support mounting plates, end caps, step pads, fasteners (hex bolts, washers, and serrated flange nuts), and hardware for attachment to mounting brackets. The serial number label is located on the front inside of the driver's side step assembly. Specific step pad quantities and optional components are listed in the service parts list.
Three extended cab models are available: Model 477097 (96"), Model 477101 (100"), and Model 477113 (112"). Each model comes in left-hand and right-hand versions with specific part numbers. Confirm your truck's cab style and bed length before ordering.

Each step is attached using 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolts (item #10), 5/16" flat washers (item #11), and 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts (item #12). The support mounting plate (item #9) is positioned inside the oval step above each bracket. Twenty of each fastener type are included in the service parts list.
The manual does not specify which tools are required for installation. You will need tools to torque fasteners to 19 LB FT (such as a torque wrench), but the manual does not list other required or recommended tools. Consult the separate bracket package instructions for additional tool requirements.

1. Set the step on the mounting brackets. 2. Slide each support mounting plate (item #9) inside the oval step and above each bracket. 3. Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolt, washer, and serrated flange nut (items #10, #11, #12), attach the step assembly, support mounting plate, and mounting bracket. 4. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners. Torque all 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT.
1. Pre-assemble the front bracket on the left side using three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, washers, and flange nuts, torqued to 19 LB FT. 2. Assemble load reaction studs and hardware. 3. Attach load reaction stud assemblies to mounting brackets. 4. Remove factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts and install mounting brackets (finger tight). 5. Attach rear outboard bracket to rear inboard bracket. 6. Install spring hanger brackets. 7. Install step boards per their instructions. 8. Position load reaction bolt assembly and tighten flange nuts to 19 LB FT. 9. Repeat for the right side.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #12), install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #11) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a 3/8" flat washer (item #10) and rubber cushion washer (item #9) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #11) backwards near the bottom of the threads.
1. Loosen the spring hanger bolt or nut just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #18) behind the flange of the bolt or nut. Position the inboard bracket with the channel open to the outboard side. 2. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #19) so its inboard portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket, using a 3/8-16 x 2" bolt, 3/8" flat washer, 1/2" flat washer, and 3/8-16 nylon lock nut (items #10, #16, #17, #20). Leave loose until the step board is in place.
Torque all 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT. This applies to the hex bolts, washers, and serrated flange nuts that attach the step assembly to the mounting brackets.
Torque all 3/8" fasteners to 19 LB FT. This applies to the front bracket assembly (step 2), the rear outboard bracket attachment (step 5.4), and the load reaction stud flange nuts (step 8).
The front bracket assembly uses three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws (item #13), 3/8" flat washers (item #10), and 3/8" flange nuts (item #11), torqued to 19 LB FT.
Three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws (item #13), 3/8" flat washers (item #10), and 3/8" flange nuts (item #11) are used. Torque to 19 LB FT. The rear outboard bracket must be mounted to the back side (towards the rear of the vehicle) of the rear inboard bracket, using the correct holes as shown in the figures.
The load reaction stud (item #12) is a double-ended stud, 3/8-16 thread, 4.00" long, zinc-plated steel.
Due to excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra, use caution when removing the body mount bolts. This warning applies when installing the 401747 brackets.
The mounting brackets must not touch the inside wall of the body mount housing. Ensure proper positioning during installation and verify that the body mount fasteners are torqued to the manufacturer's specifications.
Curt Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007-2017 Chevrolet GMC Trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
