Regal 7 oval side steps are fitted with large, non-skid step pads. They feature a 7" width and a textured surface, providing enhanced comfort and safety when climbing in and out of your pickup truck. The step pads and matching end caps of Regal 7 wheel-to-wheel steps are angled for a sleek accent. To ensure excellent strength and lasting corrosion resistance, Regal 7 oval side steps are constructed from stainless steel. The stainless steel tubing measures 7" wide and has an elliptical shape for style and strength. All Regal 7 side steps are designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific brackets. The brackets are built from strong carbon steel and have a durable black powder coat finish. 1. Pre-assemble the front bracket on the left side. 2. Assemble the load reaction studs and hardware. 3. Attach the load reaction stud assemblies to the mounting brackets. 4. Remove factory body mount bolts and install the front, center, and rear mounting brackets (finger tight). 5. Attach the rear outboard bracket to the rear inboard bracket. 6. Attach the spring hanger brackets. 7. Install the step boards per their instructions. 8. Position and tighten the load reaction bolt assembly. 9. Repeat steps 1–8 for the right side.
On the left side of the vehicle, assemble Items #1, 3, and 14 using three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws (Item #13), 3/8" flat washers (Item #10), and 3/8" flange nuts (Item #11). Torque to 19 lb. ft. as shown in Figure 1.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (Item #12), install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #11) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a 3/8" flat washer (Item #10) and rubber cushion washer (Item #9) tight against the serrated flange nut; the stud end must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #12) backwards near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that allows the rubber washer to seat firmly against the frame side wall. Install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #11) on the outboard end of the stud, finger tight only, until final assembly.
Remove the factory front body mount bolt and install the front mounting bracket (Items #1, 3) to the front body mount as shown in the manual. Leave these fasteners finger tight until final assembly.
Remove the factory center body mount bolt and install the center mounting bracket (Item #4) to the center body mount as shown. Leave these fasteners finger tight. Note: the center bracket is used as the rear bracket on Regular Cab models only.
Remove the factory rear body mount bolt and install the rear mounting bracket (Item #8) and washer (Item #15) to the rear body mount as shown. Leave these fasteners finger tight. Then attach the rear outboard bracket (Item #6) to the rear inboard bracket (Item #8) using three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (Items #13, 10, 11), with the outboard bracket mounted to the back side (rear) of the inboard bracket. Torque to 19 lb. ft. Note: there is a difference between Double Cab and Crew Cab applications; use the correct holes as shown in Figures 2 and 3.
Loosen the factory spring hanger bolt or nut just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger bracket (Item #18) behind the flange of the bolt or nut, with the channel open to the outboard side. Install the outboard spring hanger bracket (Item #19) so its inboard portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket, using a 3/8"-16 x 2" bolt, 3/8" flat washer, 1/2" flat washer, and 3/8"-16 nylon lock nut (Items #10, 16, 17, 20). Leave loose until the step board is in place.
Most fasteners are left finger tight during assembly. After the step boards are installed per their own instructions, position the load reaction bolt assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the frame side wall, then tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 lb. ft. Ensure the mounting brackets do not touch the inside wall of the body mount housing, and torque the body mount fasteners to the manufacturer's specifications.
The three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts used to assemble the front bracket (Items #1, 3, 14) must be torqued to 19 lb. ft.
The three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts used to attach the rear outboard bracket to the rear inboard bracket must be torqued to 19 lb. ft.
The 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the load reaction stud assembly must be tightened to 19 lb. ft. after the step boards are installed and the rubber cushion is positioned snug against the frame side wall.

The mounting brackets must not touch the inside wall of the body mount housing. Ensure proper positioning during assembly to maintain this clearance.
