Regal 7 oval side steps are fitted with large, non-skid step pads. They feature a 7" width and a textured surface, providing enhanced comfort and safety when climbing in and out of your pickup truck. The step pads and matching end caps of Regal 7 wheel-to-wheel steps are angled for a sleek accent. To ensure excellent strength and lasting corrosion resistance, Regal 7 oval side steps are constructed from stainless steel. The stainless steel tubing measures 7" wide and has an elliptical shape for style and strength. All Regal 7 side steps are designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific brackets. The brackets are built from strong carbon steel and have a durable black powder coat finish. They install using pre-existing mounting points on the truck to greatly reduce installation time and eliminate tedious modifications. Yes. Some 2014 Silverado and Sierra vehicles have factory threaded inserts in the rocker panels, while others do not. If your vehicle has threaded inserts, you will use black M8 × 30 mm screws (Item #3) instead of the 5/16"-18 × 1.0" screws (Item #5). Check your rocker panels before starting installation to determine which fasteners to use.
1. Insert 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts (Item #7) into the upper holes in the rocker panel (unless your vehicle has factory threaded inserts). 2. Attach the top of the brackets (Items #1 and #2) using either 5/16"-18 × 1.0" screws with flat washers (Items #5 and #4) if you have U-nuts, or black M8 × 30 mm screws (Item #3) if you have threaded inserts. Hand tighten only at this stage.
Install the black M8-1.25 screw (Item #3) and washer (Item #4) through the pinch weld support bracket (Item #8), positioning the bracket above the pinch weld as shown in the manual. Install the M8 flange nut (Item #6) to secure it. This is done on each mounting bracket. Tighten all fasteners to 19 lb-ft.
1. Loosen the factory spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (Item #14) up behind the bolt flange. Position it with the channel open to the outboard side. 2. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (Item #13) so its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket. Use a 3/8" zinc-plated bolt (Item #11), 3/8" washer (Item #12), 1/2" washer (Item #9), and 3/8" nylock nut (Item #10). Do not tighten these bolts until the bracket is attached to the step assembly.
All fasteners on the mounting brackets must be tightened to 19 lb-ft. This includes the M8-1.25 screws, washers, and M8 flange nuts that attach to the pinch weld support brackets.
Do not tighten the spring hanger mounting bracket bolts (Items #11, #12, #9, #10) until the bracket is fully attached to the step assembly. After the step assembly is installed, tighten the spring hanger bolt per the vehicle manufacturer's specifications.
CURT Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007-2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
