Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Part number 41990 is a Service Body Hitch – Long Tube manufactured by Cequent Towing Products. It is a weight-carrying hitch designed for service body vehicles. The hitch has a maximum tongue weight rating of 1,600 lb and a maximum gross trailer weight rating of 16,000 lb. It must be used in weight-carrying mode only and is not compatible with weight-distributing hitch systems.
Yes. Part number 41990 requires a bracket kit to complete installation. You must purchase either bracket kit 4907 or 4916 separately; these are not included with the hitch. The bracket kit is essential for proper mounting to your vehicle frame.

Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes drilled in the frame or body to prevent water infiltration or exhaust gas entry. Failure to follow all warnings and instructions may result in product failure, property damage, serious bodily injury, and/or death.
Two installation methods are available: (1) Weld-on option: frame brackets are welded to the hitch center section and vehicle frame using AWS-certified welding; (2) Bolt-on option: frame brackets are bolted to the vehicle frame using 5/8" diameter bolts. The manual notes it may be easier to weld frame brackets to the hitch center section before installing the hitch to the vehicle.
Yes. The bolt-on method requires drilling holes in the vehicle frame. Before drilling, remove any rust or undercoating to ensure accurate hole placement. You may clamp the frame brackets in place and use the bracket holes as guides. Ensure no electrical wires, brake lines, fuel lines, or other obstructions are inside the frame before drilling. Holes must not exceed 1/32" larger than the bolt diameter.
Holes drilled in the vehicle frame must not exceed 21/32" in diameter. Additionally, holes must not be more than 1/32" larger than the bolt diameter being used.
A minimum of four (4) 5/8" diameter bolts per side must be installed for the bolt-on method. You must ensure proper clearance for the hitch and hitch accessories when determining bolt locations.
Use 5/8" diameter bolts, Grade 5 or stronger only. Locking type nuts must be used with all bolts to prevent loosening.
The manual requires that bolts be tightened to proper torque using a torque wrench, but does not specify the exact torque value. You must consult with the bracket kit manufacturer (4907 or 4916) or contact Cequent Towing Products for the specific torque specification.
Yes. The weld-on method requires welding frame brackets to the hitch center section and to the vehicle frame. All welds must be performed by an AWS-certified welder for the type and position of welds being done. Paint and other surface treatments must be removed from all surfaces requiring welding to allow adequate weld penetration and strength.
All welds must be 1/4" fillet welds. Minimum weld lengths are 6" on the top and bottom of the vehicle frame to the hitch frame bracket, typical both sides. Weld ends must be wrapped 1/2" typical. A minimum of 5/16" of tube must be exposed to weld on the outside of frame brackets. Minimum distance between welds is 3", and minimum distance between weld and edge of holes is 3/8". All welds must be done in accordance with AWS specifications.
Yes. Paint and other surface treatments must be removed from all surfaces requiring welding. Remove paint and plating, undercoating, rust, and oil from the vehicle frame. Use a flexible disc grinding wheel to remove paint and surface treatments. Do not use a rigid disc, as it could cause gouging and notching of metal, creating high stress points that weaken the hitch and frame. Be careful to grind paint off hitch components as well.
Before installation, examine the tow vehicle to determine adequate mounting surface and ensure attachments meet the requirements of the instructions. Make sure no fuel lines, electrical wires, brake lines, or other components will be smashed, crimped, or damaged by the installation. No cutting, relocation, or removal of vehicle components can be performed without approval from the vehicle manufacturer if required for installation. For bolt-on installation, ensure no electrical wires, brake lines, fuel lines, or other obstructions are inside the frame before drilling.
Make sure the hitch receiver opening is centered with the tow vehicle before welding. This ensures proper alignment and function of the hitch.
