Tekonsha T-One connector (also referred to as T-Connector) wiring harnesses are the fastest and easiest way to add an electrical connector to the back of your vehicle. These connectors are used to link the wiring from your vehicle to the trailer when towing. Tekonsha T-One connectors feature custom designs to fit each vehicle make and model based on manufacturer specifications. Plus, the Plug & Play connectors on the end of the wires make it easy to install. No cutting or splicing!
Tekonsha offers the largest, most complete line of T-One connectors. Tekonsha is a leading manufacturer of electronic trailer brake controllers, pioneering the category in the 1970s. The lineup spans proportional units such as the Prodigy P3 and Prodigy iD, time-delayed controllers, the wireless Prodigy RF, plus vehicle-specific wiring harnesses, adapters and trailer brake components engineered for smooth, predictable stopping at any speed.
Tekonsha Engineering Company began in 1964 building RV steps and mirrors. Within a few years it had found its real calling, and by the 1970s Tekonsha was pioneering the manufacture of electronic trailer brake controllers, the product category that still defines the brand. More than half a century later it remains the reference name in trailer braking and is part of the Horizon Global group alongside Reese, Draw-Tite, Fulton, Bulldog and Wesbar.
A brake controller is the component that tells a trailer's electric brakes how hard to work and when, and getting that right is the difference between a controlled stop and a shove from behind. Tekonsha builds both major types. Proportional controllers use an internal accelerometer to sense how quickly the tow vehicle is slowing and apply trailer braking to match, so light braking stays light and hard braking is immediate. Time-delayed controllers ramp to a preset output over a fixed interval, a simpler and more economical approach that suits occasional towing.
The current brake controller range covers most of that ground. The Prodigy iD pairs with a phone through Tekonsha's EDGE technology for setup and monitoring, the P3 offers storable settings for multiple trailers and a trilingual colour LED display, the Prodigy P2 adds a dimmable display and boost mode for heavier loads, and the Voyager keeps operation simple and dependable. The Prodigy RF mounts to the trailer itself and controls wirelessly, which suits rental fleets and drivers who swap tow vehicles.
Installation is supported by vehicle-specific brake control harnesses that plug into a factory connector rather than requiring cut-and-splice wiring, along with mounting brackets and adapters. Matched controller bundles pair a unit with the correct harness. Products are tested to meet and often exceed published industry standards.

The kit includes: two small relays and one large relay for the jumper harness; two blue relays for the engine relay box; a 4-Flat harness; a grey 6-pin connector; a white wire with eyelet and screw for grounding; and cable ties for securing the harness. The tow plug bracket is not included and must be purchased separately.
Required tools are: wire cutters, Phillips head screwdriver, test-probe, trim panel puller, and a 10mm socket & ratchet or 10mm wrench. These tools are needed to remove interior trim panels, disconnect components, and secure fasteners during installation.
Only if your vehicle is equipped with a rear subwoofer. If present, carefully unscrew the retainer bolt at the top of the speaker, disconnect the speaker connector (being careful not to damage the locking tabs), and set the subwoofer aside during installation. You will reinstall it after the harness is secured.
Yes. You must fold the rear seats forward to access the cargo assembly and rotate it to rest on the folded seats. This is necessary to reach the jumper harness connectors located in the storage cargo area.
Using two small relays and one large relay, carefully insert them into the relay jumper harness. The terminals of each relay will match the configuration of the relay jumper harness end. Ensure that the relays are fully inserted with locking tabs in place. Do not use relays other than those included, as different relays can result in the unit not functioning or may damage the vehicle and/or trailer.
On the driver's side, under the trim panel area, locate the jumper harness connectors. The plugs will mate into the two relay jumper harness connectors. After connecting, secure the remainder of the harness with the cable ties provided and ensure that the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.
The relay box is located behind the driver's side headlight. Open the cover and insert the two blue relays into the open cavities. Ensure that the relays are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.
The grey 6-pin connector is located behind the rear bumper near the center of the vehicle. From underneath the vehicle, locate the tow plug harness and this connector. Remove the vehicle's tow plug protective cap. All connector surfaces should be clean and free of dirt before connecting.
Connect the tow plug end to the vehicle's mating connector. Be careful not to damage the locking tabs and ensure that connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place. All connections must be complete for the T-One® T-Connector to function properly.
Yes. You must drill a 3/32" hole to secure the white grounding wire. Locate a suitable grounding point near the adapter such as the vehicle frame or crossmember (do not drill into vehicle floor or bed). Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area, drill the 3/32" hole, and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided. Always verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling to avoid damage to the vehicle and/or personal injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.
Drill a 3/32" hole for the white grounding wire. The hole should be made in a suitable grounding point near the adapter such as the vehicle frame or crossmember, not in the vehicle floor or bed. Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area before drilling.
Route the 4-Flat harness rearward to the back of the fascia of the bumper. Route the wire carefully to avoid any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any other points that may pinch or break the wire. After routing, secure the 4-Flat tow harness to the hitch. Note that a bracket is not included and must be purchased separately.
Do not exceed the lower of your towing manufacturer's rating or these limits: maximum stop/turn light is 1 per side (7.5 amps); maximum tail lights (7.5 amps). Overloading the circuit can cause fires. Always consult your vehicle's owner's manual and the towing manufacturer's specifications.
For the initial test, reset the vehicle's electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition. Then test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer once installed. All connections must be complete for the T-One® T-Connector to function properly.
