Tekonsha is a leading manufacturer of electronic trailer brake controllers, pioneering the category in the 1970s. The lineup spans proportional units such as the Prodigy P3 and Prodigy iD, time-delayed controllers, the wireless Prodigy RF, plus vehicle-specific wiring harnesses, adapters and trailer brake components engineered for smooth, predictable stopping at any speed.
Tekonsha Engineering Company began in 1964 building RV steps and mirrors. Within a few years it had found its real calling, and by the 1970s Tekonsha was pioneering the manufacture of electronic trailer brake controllers, the product category that still defines the brand. More than half a century later it remains the reference name in trailer braking and is part of the Horizon Global group alongside Reese, Draw-Tite, Fulton, Bulldog and Wesbar.
A brake controller is the component that tells a trailer's electric brakes how hard to work and when, and getting that right is the difference between a controlled stop and a shove from behind. Tekonsha builds both major types. Proportional controllers use an internal accelerometer to sense how quickly the tow vehicle is slowing and apply trailer braking to match, so light braking stays light and hard braking is immediate. Time-delayed controllers ramp to a preset output over a fixed interval, a simpler and more economical approach that suits occasional towing.
The current brake controller range covers most of that ground. The Prodigy iD pairs with a phone through Tekonsha's EDGE technology for setup and monitoring, the P3 offers storable settings for multiple trailers and a trilingual colour LED display, the Prodigy P2 adds a dimmable display and boost mode for heavier loads, and the Voyager keeps operation simple and dependable. The Prodigy RF mounts to the trailer itself and controls wirelessly, which suits rental fleets and drivers who swap tow vehicles.
Installation is supported by vehicle-specific brake control harnesses that plug into a factory connector rather than requiring cut-and-splice wiring, along with mounting brackets and adapters. Matched controller bundles pair a unit with the correct harness. Products are tested to meet and often exceed published industry standards.

| 2015 - 2020 | Toyota Sienna | Tow Harness T: Connector Assembly Drilling Required Install Time is 60 minutes |
The T-one® Connector is a trailer wiring interface for the Toyota Sienna that allows you to connect a trailer to your vehicle's electrical system. It taps into the vehicle's taillight wiring harness and provides a 4-flat connector for trailer use. The system includes a black box module, multiple wire connectors in different colours (green, brown, red, yellow, white, and black), a 15 amp fuse, and cable management hardware.
Yes, the T-one® Connector part number 118648-037 is designed for the Toyota Sienna. The installation instructions are specific to this vehicle model.
You will need: 10 mm socket and ratchet or 10 mm wrench; 12 mm socket and ratchet or 12 mm wrench; Phillips head screwdriver; test probe; drill with 3/32" drill bit; wire crimpers; wire cutters; and a trim panel remover tool.
The kit includes: a black box module; two sets of connectors (one with green wires, one with brown and red wires); a connector with a yellow wire; a white ground wire with ring terminal; a black 12 ga. power wire; a yellow fuse holder with 15 amp fuse; yellow butt connectors; self-tapping screws; double-sided tape; and cable ties.
Yes. You must disconnect the vehicle's negative (−) battery cable before connecting the power wire to the battery's positive (+) terminal. This is a critical safety step performed in step 9 of the installation.
You must remove: both taillight housings (accessed by opening the rear tailgate and removing two bolts on each side); the threshold plate (by removing cargo clips); the jack storage compartment door on the passenger side; and interior trim panels on both the driver's and passenger's sides using a trim panel remover tool.
Mount the black box on the passenger's side of the vehicle using the double-sided tape provided. This is done after removing the interior trim panels and jack storage compartment door on that side.
On the passenger's side, attach two connector sets from the T-one® Connector (one with green wires, one with brown and red wires) between the vehicle's taillight wiring harness connectors. On the driver's side, insert the T-one® Connector end with the yellow wire into the vehicle's taillight connector and lock it into place. All connector surfaces must be clean and free of dirt before connecting.
Drilling may be required for the ground wire connection. You must ground the white ground wire by placing its ring terminal under an existing screw attached to a clean metal surface, or by drilling a 3/32" hole and using one of the self-tapping screws provided. Drilling is optional if a suitable existing ground point is available.
The T-one® Connector uses a 15 amp fuse. This fuse is installed in the yellow fuse holder after the power wire is connected to the vehicle's positive battery terminal.
Disconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable first. Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder if not already removed. Cut the fuse holder wire, attach the ring terminal to the vehicle's positive (+) battery cable, and secure it. Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga. wire using the yellow butt connector provided. The black wire is then routed to the T-one® Connector black box.
The black power wire is 12 ga. (12 gauge). Route it either through a grommet and along the exterior frame, or follow the existing wiring along the thresholds into the engine compartment up to the battery. Avoid areas that may pinch or break the wire.
Place the ring terminal of the white ground wire under an existing screw attached to a clean metal surface, or drill a 3/32" hole and use one of the self-tapping screws provided to secure it to a clean metal surface on the vehicle.
Always wear safety glasses and follow all safety precautions during installation. Read and follow all warnings and instructions included with the product and in your vehicle's owner's manual. Read all warnings printed on the vehicle's battery. Do not exceed the lower of the towing manufacturer's rating (including in your vehicle owner's manual) or the specific amperage ratings stated on the product. Ensure all ground connections are secure when removing and reattaching the ground stud.
Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed the stated product ratings. Read your vehicle's owner's manual and the T-one® Connector instruction sheet for additional information on safe amperage limits.
All connections must be complete for the T-one® Connector to function properly. Test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer once installed. For the initial test, reset the vehicle's electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
Store the 4-flat connector in the jack storage compartment when not in use. When in use, route the 4-flat harness through the rear tailgate/door seal.
Secure all loose wires with the cable ties provided. Be careful not to pinch or cut the wires when reinstalling taillight assemblies and other removed items.
After all wiring connections are complete, reconnect the vehicle's negative (−) battery cable and install the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder. Then test the installation with a test light or trailer, and reset the vehicle's electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
Yes, part number 118648-037 is designed specifically for the Toyota Sienna.
The T-one® Connector uses a 15 amp fuse. Required tools include 10 mm and 12 mm sockets/wrenches, Phillips screwdriver, test probe, 3/32" drill bit, wire crimpers, wire cutters, and trim panel remover.
Yes, you must disconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable before connecting the power wire to the positive terminal.
Drilling may be required for the ground wire connection if no suitable existing ground point is available. A 3/32" hole is drilled and a self-tapping screw is used.
The power wire is 12 ga. black wire routed either through a grommet along the exterior frame or along existing thresholds to the engine compartment, avoiding areas that may pinch or break it.
Do not exceed the product's stated amperage ratings or the towing manufacturer's rating. Overloading circuits can cause fires. Wear safety glasses during installation.
Test with a test light or trailer once all connections are complete. Reset the vehicle's electrical system by temporarily removing the ignition key.
Verify that all connections are complete. Check that the taillight wiring harness connectors are properly seated and locked. Ensure the T-one® Connector sets (green wires and brown/red wires) are fully inserted between the vehicle's taillight connectors on the passenger's side. Verify the yellow wire connector is locked into the driver's side taillight connector. Confirm the black power wire is properly connected to both the vehicle's positive battery terminal (via the fuse holder) and the T-one® Connector black box. Verify the white ground wire is securely attached to a clean metal surface. Test with a test light or trailer, and reset the vehicle's electrical system by temporarily removing the ignition key.
A repeatedly blown fuse indicates an overloaded circuit or a short circuit. Verify that you are not exceeding the product's stated amperage rating or the towing manufacturer's rating. Check all wire connections for proper seating and insulation. Inspect the black 12 ga. power wire for damage, cuts, or pinching along its entire route from the battery to the T-one® Connector black box. Ensure the ground wire is securely attached to a clean metal surface and that no other ground connections have been disturbed. If the fuse continues to blow after these checks, discontinue use and consult the manufacturer.
