Tekonsha is a leading manufacturer of electronic trailer brake controllers, pioneering the category in the 1970s. The lineup spans proportional units such as the Prodigy P3 and Prodigy iD, time-delayed controllers, the wireless Prodigy RF, plus vehicle-specific wiring harnesses, adapters and trailer brake components engineered for smooth, predictable stopping at any speed.
Tekonsha Engineering Company began in 1964 building RV steps and mirrors. Within a few years it had found its real calling, and by the 1970s Tekonsha was pioneering the manufacture of electronic trailer brake controllers, the product category that still defines the brand. More than half a century later it remains the reference name in trailer braking and is part of the Horizon Global group alongside Reese, Draw-Tite, Fulton, Bulldog and Wesbar.
A brake controller is the component that tells a trailer's electric brakes how hard to work and when, and getting that right is the difference between a controlled stop and a shove from behind. Tekonsha builds both major types. Proportional controllers use an internal accelerometer to sense how quickly the tow vehicle is slowing and apply trailer braking to match, so light braking stays light and hard braking is immediate. Time-delayed controllers ramp to a preset output over a fixed interval, a simpler and more economical approach that suits occasional towing.
The current brake controller range covers most of that ground. The Prodigy iD pairs with a phone through Tekonsha's EDGE technology for setup and monitoring, the P3 offers storable settings for multiple trailers and a trilingual colour LED display, the Prodigy P2 adds a dimmable display and boost mode for heavier loads, and the Voyager keeps operation simple and dependable. The Prodigy RF mounts to the trailer itself and controls wirelessly, which suits rental fleets and drivers who swap tow vehicles.
Installation is supported by vehicle-specific brake control harnesses that plug into a factory connector rather than requiring cut-and-splice wiring, along with mounting brackets and adapters. Matched controller bundles pair a unit with the correct harness. Products are tested to meet and often exceed published industry standards.

The 2015-2022 Dodge Challenger Tekonsha Plug & Play T-Connector Adapter Trailer Wiring 118656 (Part #TK118656) fits the following vehicles: 2015-2022 Dodge Challenger. Always verify your specific year, make, and model before ordering.
Yes, the 2015-2022 Dodge Challenger Tekonsha Plug & Play T-Connector Adapter Trailer Wiring 118656 (Part #TK118656) is designed to fit the 2015-2022 Dodge Challenger.
The 2015-2022 Dodge Challenger Tekonsha Plug & Play T-Connector Adapter Trailer Wiring 118656 (Part #TK118656) fits 2015-2022 Dodge Challenger models. The 2022 model year is the last year covered by this part number. For newer models, check for an updated version.
The 2015-2022 Dodge Challenger Tekonsha Plug & Play T-Connector Adapter Trailer Wiring 118656 (Part #TK118656) Drilling is required for installation. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The T-One® T-Connector is a trailer wiring harness adapter that connects to your vehicle's taillight wiring to provide trailer lighting control. It includes a black box module that integrates with your vehicle's electrical system and a 4-flat connector for trailer use. The system requires a 15 amp fuse and must have all connections complete to function properly.
Yes, the T-One® T-Connector (part number 118656-037) is designed for the Dodge Challenger. The installation manual is specific to this vehicle model. However, the manual does not specify which model years or trim levels are compatible, so you should verify with the manufacturer or retailer if you have a different generation or year.
You will need: a trim panel remover, a drill with a 3/32" drill bit, a Phillips head screwdriver, and a test probe. These tools are required to remove interior panels, drill the ground connection hole, and verify electrical connections during installation.
The kit includes: the T-One® T-Connector harness with green and yellow wire ends, a black box module, cable ties, an eyelet and screw for ground connection, two yellow butt connectors, a yellow fuse holder with 15 amp fuse, a ring terminal, and a 4-flat connector for storage in the trunk when not in use.
Yes. You must disconnect the vehicle's negative (-) battery cable before connecting the fuse holder to the positive battery terminal. This is done in step 7. After all other connections are complete, you reconnect the negative battery cable in step 8 and install the 15 amp fuse.
The battery is located inside the vehicle's trunk on the passenger side. You will access it from inside the vehicle to connect the black 12 gauge wire and the black wire from the T-Connector black box module.
1. Open trunk and remove rear threshold plate and felt trunk liner. 2. Locate and separate taillight wiring harness connectors on both sides. 3. Connect the green wire end to the passenger side taillight connector. 4. Route the yellow wire end down the threshold to the driver side and connect it. 5. Locate a ground point and secure the white wire with eyelet and screw (or drill a 3/32" hole if needed). 6. Connect the black 12 gauge wire and black box module wire to the battery using a yellow butt connector. 7. Disconnect the negative battery cable, cut the fuse holder wire, attach the ring terminal to the positive battery cable, and connect the fuse holder to the black 12 gauge wire. 8. Reconnect the negative battery cable and install the 15 amp fuse. 9. Mount the black box module on a flat, out-of-the-way surface. 10. Secure the harness with cable ties. 11. Replace carpet and panels.
Locate the taillight wiring harness on both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle in the trunk. The harness has connectors that match the ends of the T-One® T-Connector. Separate the vehicle's connectors carefully without breaking the locking tabs. Clean all connector surfaces of dirt. Attach the green wire end of the T-Connector to the passenger side taillight connector, ensuring it is fully inserted with locking tabs in place. Route the yellow wire end down the threshold to the driver side and repeat the connection process.
Locate a flat surface in an out-of-the-way place in the trunk and mount the T-One® T-Connector's black box module there. This placement prevents damage or rattling. After mounting, secure the remainder of the harness with the cable ties provided, being careful to avoid any areas that would pinch, cut, or melt the wire.
Drilling may be required. You must locate a suitable grounding point near the taillight connector to secure the white ground wire. If an existing ground stud is not available, you will need to drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided. Do not drill into the vehicle floor or bed. You must verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage to the vehicle or personal injury, and do not drill into any exposed surfaces.
You need a 3/32" drill bit to drill the ground connection hole for the white wire eyelet. Before drilling, clean any dirt and rustproofing from the area, and verify what is behind the surface to avoid damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
The T-One® T-Connector uses a 15 amp fuse. This fuse is installed in the yellow fuse holder after all other connections are complete and the negative battery cable is reconnected. The fuse holder is connected between the positive battery terminal and the black 12 gauge wire.
The battery connection uses a black 12 gauge (12 ga.) wire. This wire connects from the vehicle's battery to the T-Connector black box module via a yellow butt connector, and is also connected to the fuse holder.
The T-One® T-Connector has three main wire colors: green wire (connects to passenger side taillight), yellow wire (connects to driver side taillight), white wire (ground connection), and black wires (battery connections). The green and yellow wires route the taillight signals, while the white wire provides the ground connection and the black wires handle the 12-volt power from the battery.
1. Locate the battery on the passenger side inside the vehicle's trunk. 2. Connect the black 12 gauge wire and the black wire from the T-Connector black box module using a supplied yellow butt connector. 3. Disconnect the vehicle's negative (-) battery cable. 4. Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder if not already removed. 5. Cut the fuse holder wire and attach the ring terminal to the vehicle's positive (+) battery cable. 6. Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 gauge wire using a yellow butt connector. 7. Reconnect the negative battery cable and install the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Yellow butt connectors are supplied with the kit and are used to join wires together. Specifically, they are used to: (1) connect the black 12 gauge wire and the black wire from the T-Connector black box module to the battery, and (2) connect the fuse holder to the black 12 gauge wire after the ring terminal is attached to the positive battery cable.
Always wear safety glasses during installation. Before drilling, verify what is behind any surface to avoid damage to the vehicle or personal injury, and do not drill into exposed surfaces or the vehicle floor or bed. Keep the wiring away from areas that could pinch, cut, or melt the wire. Clean dirt and rustproofing from the ground connection area before drilling. Read and follow all warnings printed on the vehicle's battery. Do not exceed the stated product ratings or the towing manufacturer's ratings, as overloading circuits can cause fires.
After installation is complete, test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer. For the initial test, reset the vehicle's electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition. All connections must be complete for the T-One® T-Connector to function properly. If you use a test light, you can verify that power is reaching the connector. If you use a trailer, verify that all trailer lights function correctly.
After installation: (1) Verify all connections are complete and secure, with locking tabs in place on all connectors. (2) Ensure the black box module is mounted on a flat, out-of-the-way surface. (3) Check that the harness is secured with cable ties and away from areas that could pinch, cut, or melt the wire. (4) Confirm that carpet and panels are replaced without cutting or pinching wires. (5) Test the installation with a test light or trailer. (6) Reset the vehicle's electrical system by temporarily removing the ignition key.
Store the 4-flat connector in the trunk area when not in use. This protects it from damage and keeps it accessible for when you need to connect a trailer.
The manual states 'do not exceed stated product ratings' but does not specify the exact amperage rating in the installation instructions. You should not exceed the lower of either the towing manufacturer's rating (including in your vehicle owner's manual) or the specific amperage ratings stated on the product itself. Check the product label or contact the manufacturer for the specific amperage rating.
