Tekonsha is a leading manufacturer of electronic trailer brake controllers, pioneering the category in the 1970s. The lineup spans proportional units such as the Prodigy P3 and Prodigy iD, time-delayed controllers, the wireless Prodigy RF, plus vehicle-specific wiring harnesses, adapters and trailer brake components engineered for smooth, predictable stopping at any speed.
Tekonsha Engineering Company began in 1964 building RV steps and mirrors. Within a few years it had found its real calling, and by the 1970s Tekonsha was pioneering the manufacture of electronic trailer brake controllers, the product category that still defines the brand. More than half a century later it remains the reference name in trailer braking and is part of the Horizon Global group alongside Reese, Draw-Tite, Fulton, Bulldog and Wesbar.
A brake controller is the component that tells a trailer's electric brakes how hard to work and when, and getting that right is the difference between a controlled stop and a shove from behind. Tekonsha builds both major types. Proportional controllers use an internal accelerometer to sense how quickly the tow vehicle is slowing and apply trailer braking to match, so light braking stays light and hard braking is immediate. Time-delayed controllers ramp to a preset output over a fixed interval, a simpler and more economical approach that suits occasional towing.
The current brake controller range covers most of that ground. The Prodigy iD pairs with a phone through Tekonsha's EDGE technology for setup and monitoring, the P3 offers storable settings for multiple trailers and a trilingual colour LED display, the Prodigy P2 adds a dimmable display and boost mode for heavier loads, and the Voyager keeps operation simple and dependable. The Prodigy RF mounts to the trailer itself and controls wirelessly, which suits rental fleets and drivers who swap tow vehicles.
Installation is supported by vehicle-specific brake control harnesses that plug into a factory connector rather than requiring cut-and-splice wiring, along with mounting brackets and adapters. Matched controller bundles pair a unit with the correct harness. Products are tested to meet and often exceed published industry standards.

Yes, the Tekonsha Tow Harness, 4-Way Flat TK118270 (Part #TK118270) is designed to fit the 2013-2017 Buick Enclave.
The Tekonsha Tow Harness, 4-Way Flat TK118270 (Part #TK118270) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The T-Connector 118270-037 is designed for Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave. If your vehicle is one of these models, it should fit. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual and the instruction sheet for additional compatibility information.
The T-Connector is a trailer wiring harness that connects your vehicle's electrical system to a trailer. It integrates with your vehicle's fuse box and towplug to provide power and signalling for trailer lights, brakes, and backup functions.
You need a test-probe to verify the installation. The manual lists this as the only required tool. You will also use the cable ties provided with the product to secure wires.
The T-Connector includes four 10-amp fuses (for park lamp, left turn, right turn, and backup functions) and two 30-amp fuses (for brake and power functions), plus two relays for left and right turn functions. Do not substitute these with different relays, as doing so can result in the unit not functioning or may damage the vehicle and/or trailer.
No. The manual states that the bracket is not included. You will need to obtain a bracket separately to secure the 4-flat tow harness to your hitch.
The towplug is located under the vehicle on the passenger side. To find it, look for the opening to the right of the vehicle muffler, then reach up into that opening to locate the grey towplug. A protective cover will be attached to it, which you should disconnect and discard.
The fuse box is located under the vehicle hood. You will insert the provided fuses and relays into specific positions in this fuse box as part of the installation.
Insert the 10-amp fuses in these positions: F41 (Trailer Park Lamp), F21 (Left Turn Trailer Stop/Turn), F17 (Right Turn Trailer Stop/Turn), and F8 (Trailer Back Up). Insert the 30-amp fuses in these positions: F34 (Trailer Brake) and F30 (Trailer Power).
Insert the two provided relays in these positions: R16 (Right Turn Trailer Stop/Turn) and R15 (Left Turn Trailer Stop/Turn). Use only the relays included with the T-Connector; using different relays can result in the unit not functioning or may damage the vehicle and/or trailer.
Locate the grey towplug under the vehicle on the passenger side (in the opening to the right of the muffler). Disconnect and discard the protective cover. Connect the T-Connector towplug harness into the mating harness. Ensure the mating surfaces of the wiring connectors match, are clean and free of dirt. Be careful not to damage the locking tabs and ensure connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.
Route the T-Connector harness rearward to the back of the fascia of the bumper. Route the wire carefully to avoid hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any other points that may pinch or break the wire. Secure all loose wires with the cable ties provided, being careful to avoid areas that would cut or pinch the wire.
Do not exceed 7.5 amps for stop/turn lights or 7.5 amps for tail lights. You must also not exceed the lower of your vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits. Overloading the circuit can cause fires. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual and instruction sheet for additional information.
All connections must be complete for the T-Connector to function properly. Test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer once installed. For the initial test, reset the vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
Wear safety glasses during installation. Read and follow all vehicle warnings and installation instructions before beginning. Be careful not to damage the locking tabs on connectors. Route wires carefully to avoid hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any points that may pinch or break the wire. Avoid areas under the bumper that could cut or pinch the wire.
