UWS notched utility chest boxes provide unbeatable storage and security for your items in the bed of your truck and on the jobsite. Each box features a corrosion-resistant aluminum construction, a stainless steel locking system and a patented RigidCore foam-filled lid -- all to keep your equipment and valuables safe, well-organized and easily accessible whenever needed. Each UWS truck tool box is constructed from extra-thick aluminum for increased structural strength. The tub is welded together into a single piece for weather resistance and to easily hold heavy tools and other items. The lid features a patented foam core, sandwiched between two aluminum plates. This core greatly increases the rigidity of the lid and helps prevent bending and warping, making operation very smooth. The locking mechanism of the UWS truck tool box provides excellent security for your items, featuring stainless steel, key-operated paddle handles. Stainless steel construction supplies the locks with long-lasting corrosion resistance, and they feature an internal connecting rod that allows the lid to be opened from either side of the truck. For solid protection against the elements, the lid also has a MicroSeal gasket, blocking moisture, dust and insects from getting inside and damaging your valuables. The lid also opens a full 90 degrees for easier access, and it is equipped with self-opening struts for convenient operation when your hands are full. UWS utility chest boxes are available in multiple sizes to accommodate any storage need. Like all UWS products, each one is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability.

No. The manual explicitly states: 'Danger of explosion. Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches.' Use the chest box only for non-hazardous items.
The chest box is designed for truck beds with raised ribs for mounting alignment. Before purchasing, verify that your truck bed has these raised ribs and that the chest box dimensions suit your bed length. The manual notes that plastic drop-in bed liners may need to be trimmed or cut for proper attachment. Consult your dealer if you have questions about fitment for your specific vehicle.

Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components. Precaution must be taken that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
If your truck has a plastic, drop-in bed liner, it may need to be trimmed or cut for proper attachment of the chest box. Check the fit before drilling and trim as necessary.
Place the chest box into your desired location and check for proper lid operation. In the bottom of the chest box, select two mounting points that are aligned with the raised ribs in your truck bed. These alignment points ensure proper support and secure mounting.
Use an 11/32" drill bit to drill through the chest box and truck bed. If you are using the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK, you will then enlarge the holes in the truck bed with a 1/2" drill bit and follow the instructions included with that kit.
Yes. Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. Use a silicone-type caulk as needed to fill in any open areas around the bolt flat washer or bonded washer inside the chest box to prevent water from seeping into the chest box.
