Warranty: Limited Lifetime Warranty (One-Year Finish, One-Year Parts)
Finish: BRIGHT ALUMINUM
Material: Aluminum
Part Type: Chest Box
UWS utility chest boxes provide unbeatable storage and security for your items, whether in the shop, at home or on the job. Each box features a corrosion-resistant aluminum construction, a stainless steel locking system, a patented RigidCore foam-filled lid and integrated tool storage -- all to keep your equipment and valuables safe, well-organized and easily accessible whenever needed. Each UWS tool box and storage box is constructed from extra-thick aluminum for increased structural strength. The tub is welded together into a single piece for weather resistance and to easily hold heavy tools and other items. The lid features a patented foam core, sandwiched between two aluminum plates. This core greatly increases the rigidity of the lid and helps prevent bending and warping, making operation very smooth. The locking mechanism of the UWS truck tool box provides excellent security for your items, featuring stainless steel, key-operated paddle handles. Stainless steel construction supplies the locks with long-lasting corrosion resistance, and they feature an internal connecting rod that allows the lid to be opened from either side of the truck. For solid protection against the elements, the lid also has a MicroSeal gasket, blocking moisture, dust and insects from getting inside and damaging your valuables. The lid also opens a full 90 degrees for easier access, and it is equipped with self-opening struts for convenient operation when your hands are full. UWS utility chest boxes are available in multiple sizes to accommodate any storage need. Like all UWS products, each one is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability.

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

The package includes one utility chest box and two keys. A mounting hardware kit may or may not be included depending on the model. If the kit is not included, you will need to purchase your own hardware: two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers and two lock nuts.
The manual does not specify which truck models or bed styles are compatible. Before purchasing, consult your dealer or the manufacturer to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle. The installation requires mounting points aligned with the raised ribs in the truck bed, and plastic drop-in bed liners may need to be trimmed or cut.
You will need: a drill, 11/32" drill bit, 1/2" drill bit, ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. If the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK is used, follow the instructions included with that kit. If purchasing hardware separately, you will also need two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers and two lock nuts.
Not all models include a mounting hardware kit. Check your package contents. If the kit #003-CBOXMK is included, use it and follow its instructions. If no kit is included, you must purchase two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers and two lock nuts separately.
Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components. Take precaution that fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or damage during a collision.
Place the chest box in your desired location and check that the lid operates properly. In the bottom of the chest box, select two mounting points that are aligned with the raised ribs in the truck bed. These ribs provide structural support for the fasteners.
If your truck has a plastic drop-in bed liner, it may need to be trimmed or cut for proper attachment of the chest box. Plan for this modification before beginning installation.
Use an 11/32" drill bit to drill through the chest box and truck bed. If you are using the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK, enlarge the holes in the truck bed with a 1/2" drill bit and follow the instructions included with the kit.
Yes. You must drill two mounting holes through the chest box and truck bed. Use an 11/32" drill bit for standard installation, or a 1/2" bit if using the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK. Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure you do not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires or fuel tanks.
Tighten 5/16" bolts to 7 ft-lbs. This applies to the two 5/16" bolts used to secure the chest box to the truck bed. If you purchase hardware separately, follow the torque specifications provided with that hardware, as they may differ from the general guidelines.
Tighten M8 bolts to 7 ft-lbs. This applies if you use M8 bolts instead of 5/16" bolts to secure the chest box to the truck bed. If you purchase hardware separately, follow the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
After tightening all fasteners, use a silicone-type caulk to fill any open areas around the bolt flat washer or bonded washer inside the chest box. This prevents water from seeping into the chest box.
The chest box comes with adjustable strikers. If the strikers are out of alignment, loosen, adjust and re-tighten them to ensure proper lid closure. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Danger of explosion.
Yes. This product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.
No. Do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Ensure the chest box is positioned so it does not obstruct or damage any factory safety systems, sensors, or components.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The manual does not specify the chest box's weight capacity; consult your vehicle's owner manual or the manufacturer for the maximum load your truck bed can safely carry.
Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Check that the lid operates properly and the strikers are aligned. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the chest box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. The manual does not specify the type of lubricant to use; consult the manufacturer or a dealer for the recommended lubricant.
Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. Use a silicone-type caulk to fill open areas around the washers inside the chest box, and consider applying a rust-preventative coating to the fasteners and drilled areas.
The manual does not specify compatible vehicle models. Consult your dealer or the manufacturer to confirm fitment for your specific truck. The installation requires mounting points aligned with truck bed ribs, and plastic bed liners may need trimming.
