Stainless steel lock handles for security and corrosion-resistant operation

| Material | Aluminum |
UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

UWS | Tough. Reliable.
The package includes one crossover truck tool box, one key, two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. A divider tray is included with some models but not all.
The manual does not specify which truck bed widths, lengths or styles the tool box fits. Before purchasing, verify fitment with the manufacturer or dealer, as the manual states 'your specific box may vary in style, size or finish' and does not list compatible vehicles.
The manual does not address compatibility with bed liners or other existing truck bed accessories. Contact the manufacturer or your dealer to confirm fitment with your specific bed setup.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The installation is rated as Easy difficulty.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required for all installations. However, it includes a warning to check under your truck before drilling to ensure the drill location does not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components. Consult your dealer if you are unsure whether drilling is necessary for your specific truck.
The installation is rated as Easy difficulty and requires only basic hand tools (ratchet, socket set, tape measure). The manual does not indicate that professional installation or additional people are required.
Place the tool box in the truck bed and use a tape measure to ensure it is centered. Open the lid and check for clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab. The tool box should be positioned so the lid opens freely without obstruction.
The rail pads are adhesive-backed pads that attach to the underside of the tool box ends. They are adhered to the tool box first, then the tool box with the pads is placed on top of the truck bed rails to protect the rails and provide a stable base.
Place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one J-hook assembly on each side of the vehicle. Attach with a 1/4" washer and 1/4" nut. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten until you have re-measured to ensure the tool box is centered and the lid has clearance when open. Then fully tighten all hardware.
No. When first attaching the J-hooks with the washer and nut, snug the hardware but do not fully tighten. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and the lid has clearance when open, then fully tighten all hardware.
The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. This is a general guideline; if purchasing additional hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
The tool box comes with adjustable strikers. If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten them to ensure proper closure and alignment of the lid.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean the product with mild automotive detergent. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the crossover tool box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Danger of explosion.
Yes. The product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product.
The manual does not specify a weight capacity. Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. Consult your dealer for specific capacity information.
Before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, etc. Precaution must be taken that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
Yes. Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion.
No. Never modify this product. Do not use this product for purposes other than those for which it was designed.
The manual does not list specific vehicle compatibility. Contact the manufacturer or your dealer with your truck's make, model, year and bed length to confirm fitment.
You need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. Installation is rated Easy.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required. It includes a warning to check under your truck before drilling to avoid fuel lines, brake lines and electrical wires. Consult your dealer to confirm whether drilling is necessary for your truck.
