Part Type: TRANSFER TANK
UWS transfer tanks offer the perfect solution for transporting chemicals, solutions and other non-flammable liquids to your next jobsite. Each tank features corrosion-resistant aluminum construction, a commercial-grade ventilation cap and an optimal fit and capacity to suit your truck and lifestyle. The heavy-duty .125" thick aluminum alloy construction provides the tank with structural strength, while keeping it lightweight and resilient to corrosion. The commercial-grade vented cap allows for proper ventilation of the liquid contents, and the tank is also equipped with commercial-grade mounting flanges for maximum strength in the truck bed. This particular transfer tank is a combination unit, meaning it has a built-in truck tool box to keep your equipment and valuables safe, well-organized and easily accessible whenever needed. The tool box is constructed from extra-thick aluminum for increased structural strength and is welded together into a single piece. The lid features a patented RigidCore foam-filled design, sandwiched between two aluminum plates. This greatly increases lid strength and helps prevent bending and warping. The locking mechanism of this transfer tank tool box provides excellent security for your items, featuring stainless steel, key-operated paddle handles. Stainless steel construction supplies the locks with long-lasting corrosion resistance, and they feature an internal connecting rod that allows the lid to be opened from either side of the truck. UWS transfer tanks are available in multiple sizes to accommodate any job. Like all UWS truck tool boxes, this product is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability. NOTE: This tank is DOT-compliant for transporting Class 3 combustible fuels only, such as diesel.

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

UWS | Tough. Reliable.
The kit includes the transfer tank, filler neck and cap, one 3/8" drain plug, and a key (supplied only with combo models). Hardware such as hex bolts, flat washers, lock washers and nuts are not included and must be purchased separately.
The tank is DOT-compliant for transporting Class 3 combustible fuels only, such as diesel. It is not approved for flammable fuels such as gasoline and must never be connected to a vehicle's fuel system or used as an auxiliary fuel tank. Do not use the tank for storing or transporting explosives, hazardous materials, propane tanks, acetylene tanks, cutting torches or other flammables.
Yes. Before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components. Precaution must be taken that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
You will need a drill, 3/8" drill bit, ratchet, socket set, tape measure and marker. Proper tools will improve the quality of installation and reduce the time required.
Hardware is not included with the tank. For each mounting hole, you will need one hex bolt, two flat washers, one lock washer and one nut. The manual does not specify the size or quantity of holes, so consult your dealer or the product documentation for your specific vehicle to determine the exact hardware requirements.
Yes. First, push the tank up to the truck cab and center it side-to-side, ensuring it is fully supported by the truck bed floor. Use the mounting brackets as a guide to mark the hole locations. Then remove the tank and drill the 3/8" holes in the marked locations.
Drill 3/8" holes in the truck bed floor at the locations marked by the mounting brackets.
No. Do not cut, weld or drill into the tank. Doing so could result in serious injury or death due to the danger of explosion.
Yes. Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion.
If any holes fall between the ribs on the truck bed floor, spacers will be required between the floor and mounting bracket for proper installation. The manual does not specify whether spacers are included or must be purchased separately; consult your dealer for the correct spacers for your vehicle.
Place the tank back in the bed and align the drilled holes with the mounting brackets. Ensure the tank is level before securing. Secure the mounting brackets to the truck bed with a hex bolt, two flat washers, one lock washer and one nut in each hole. Do not over tighten the hardware.
After securing the mounting brackets, attach the filler neck and cap to the tank. The manual does not provide detailed attachment instructions; consult your dealer if you have questions regarding installation.
Torque specifications depend on bolt size. For metric bolts: M6 = 3 ft-lbs, M8 = 7 ft-lbs, M10 = 16 ft-lbs, M12 = 28 ft-lbs. For SAE bolts: 1/4" = 3 ft-lbs, 5/16" = 7 ft-lbs, 3/8" = 16 ft-lbs, 7/16" = 20 ft-lbs, 1/2" = 28 ft-lbs. These are general guidelines; if purchasing hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
The tank must be vented at all times; remove the vent cap with caution. The tank must be grounded to avoid static charge, which can result in explosion. Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. Do not pressurize the tank. Must use an automatic shut-off nozzle (not provided) and a fuel filter. Tank must be lifted only when empty. The tank can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows; extra precaution should be taken when driving.
No. Do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Consult your dealer if you have any questions regarding the installation, operation, use and limits of the product.
Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the transfer tank installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
The tank is not compatible with diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) or other corrosive materials. Do not use the tank for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste.
No. The tank is for private use only and is not intended to be used commercially.
No. The tank is not to be used as an auxiliary tank and must never be connected to a vehicle's fuel system. The tank does not meet the code of federal regulations title 49 (chapter iii [393.65, 363.67]).
The manual does not specify compatible vehicle makes, models, years or bed lengths. Consult your dealer or the product fitment database to confirm compatibility with your specific truck.
Hardware is not included. For each mounting hole, purchase one hex bolt, two flat washers, one lock washer and one nut. Consult your dealer for the correct size and quantity for your vehicle.
