Yes. Remove the bottom two drawers from the tool box before placing it on the mounting surface. After drilling and securing all mounting bolts, re-install the bottom two drawer slides.
Before drilling into your truck bed, check underneath the vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components. Take precaution that fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or damage during a collision.
Drill 1/4" holes. Use the guide holes on the inside of the tool box to mark the mounting surface on your truck bed.
Yes, drilling 1/4" holes into the truck bed is a permanent modification. The manual requires you to treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion.
The manual provides general torque guidelines of 3 ft-lbs for 1/4" bolts. However, the manual notes that if purchasing hardware separately, you should use the torque specifications provided with that hardware. Tighten all mounting hardware securely during installation.
