UWS utility chest boxes provide unbeatable storage and security for your items, whether in the shop, at home or on the job. Each box features a corrosion-resistant aluminum construction, a stainless steel locking system, a patented RigidCore foam-filled lid and integrated tool storage -- all to keep your equipment and valuables safe, well-organized and easily accessible whenever needed. Each UWS tool box and storage box is constructed from extra-thick aluminum for increased structural strength. The tub is welded together into a single piece for weather resistance and to easily hold heavy tools and other items. The lid features a patented foam core, sandwiched between two aluminum plates. This core greatly increases the rigidity of the lid and helps prevent bending and warping, making operation very smooth. The locking mechanism of the UWS truck tool box provides excellent security for your items, featuring stainless steel, key-operated paddle handles. Stainless steel construction supplies the locks with long-lasting corrosion resistance, and they feature an internal connecting rod that allows the lid to be opened from either side of the truck. For solid protection against the elements, the lid also has a MicroSeal gasket, blocking moisture, dust and insects from getting inside and damaging your valuables. The lid also opens a full 90 degrees for easier access, and it is equipped with self-opening struts for convenient operation when your hands are full. UWS utility chest boxes are available in multiple sizes to accommodate any storage need. Like all UWS products, each one is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

UWS | Tough. Reliable.
The package includes one utility chest box and two keys. A mounting hardware kit may or may not be included depending on the model. If not included, you will need to purchase your own hardware separately. Check your specific product to confirm whether the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK is included.
The chest box mounts to truck beds using two mounting points that must be aligned with the raised ribs in the truck bed. The manual does not specify which truck models, bed lengths, or cab styles are compatible. Before purchasing, verify with the manufacturer or dealer that the chest box fits your specific vehicle.
If your truck has a plastic drop-in bed liner, it may need to be trimmed or cut for proper attachment of the chest box. Plan to modify or remove the liner in the mounting areas before installation.
You will need: a drill, 11/32" drill bit, 1/2" drill bit, ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The manual rates the installation difficulty as Easy. You will also need silicone-type caulk to seal around the mounting bolts.
You need two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers, and two lock nuts. However, if you are using the optional mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK, follow the instructions included with that kit instead. Not all models include a mounting hardware kit, so verify whether yours does before purchasing.
The manual does not specify whether battery disconnection is required. Contact the manufacturer at 877.287.8634 or consult your dealer before installation.
Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components. Take special precaution that fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or damage during a collision. This is a critical safety step.
Place the chest box into your desired location on the truck bed and check that the lid operates properly. In the bottom of the chest box, select two mounting points that are aligned with the raised ribs in the truck bed. These ribs provide structural support for the mounting bolts.
Use an 11/32" drill bit to drill through the chest box and truck bed. If you are using the optional mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK, you will then need to enlarge the holes in the truck bed with a 1/2" drill bit and follow the instructions included with that kit.
Yes, drilling is required. You must drill through the chest box and truck bed at two mounting points using an 11/32" drill bit. If using the optional hardware kit #003-CBOXMK, the truck bed holes must then be enlarged to 1/2".
The recommended torque for 5/16" bolts is 7 ft-lbs. This is a general guideline. If you purchase hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware instead. Always use a ratchet and socket set to tighten fasteners to the correct torque value.
The recommended torque for M8 bolts is 7 ft-lbs. This is a general guideline. If you purchase hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware instead.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, including gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks, and cutting torches. Storing these items creates a danger of explosion.
Yes. The chest box can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.
The manual does not specify the weight capacity. Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity for your truck bed. Contact the manufacturer at 877.287.8634 or consult your dealer for the chest box capacity.
No. Never modify this product. Use it only for the purposes for which it was designed. If you have questions about the installation, operation, use and limits of the product, consult your dealer.
After installation, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Perform periodic inspections to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight and to check for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. Periodically re-tighten all components before every trip.
Use silicone-type caulk to fill in any open areas around the bolt flat washer or bonded washer inside the chest box to prevent water from seeping into the chest box. This step is important for protecting the interior from moisture and corrosion.
Yes. Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. This protects your truck bed from rust and extends the life of the installation.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean the product with mild automotive detergent. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten them. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
