UWS wedge utility chest boxes provide unbeatable storage and security for your items in the bed of your truck and on the jobsite. Each box features a corrosion-resistant aluminum construction, a stainless steel locking system and a patented RigidCore foam-filled lid -- all to keep your equipment and valuables safe, well-organized and easily accessible whenever needed. This particular tool box features a wedged design to optimize storage space without obstructing other accessories in the truck bed, including the wheel wells. Each UWS truck tool box is constructed from extra-thick aluminum for increased structural strength. The tub is welded together into a single piece for weather resistance and to easily hold heavy tools and other items. The lid features a patented foam core, sandwiched between two aluminum plates. This core greatly increases the rigidity of the lid and helps prevent bending and warping, making operation very smooth. The locking mechanism of the UWS truck tool box provides excellent security for your items, featuring stainless steel, key-operated paddle handles. Stainless steel construction supplies the locks with long-lasting corrosion resistance, and they feature an internal connecting rod that allows the lid to be opened from either side of the truck. For solid protection against the elements, the lid also has a MicroSeal gasket, blocking moisture, dust and insects from getting inside and damaging your valuables. The lid also opens a full 90 degrees for easier access, and it is equipped with self-opening struts for convenient operation when your hands are full. UWS utility chest boxes are available in multiple sizes to accommodate any storage need. Like all UWS products, each one is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

UWS | Tough. Reliable.
The package includes one utility chest box, two keys, and one mounting hardware kit (note: not all models include the mounting hardware kit, so you may need to purchase hardware separately). The manual recommends having a ratchet, socket set, drill with 1/2" and 11/32" bits, tape measure, and level on hand for installation.
Yes, but the plastic drop-in bed liner may need to be trimmed or cut for proper attachment of the chest box. Plan for this modification before installation.
You will need: a drill, 1/2" drill bit, 11/32" drill bit, ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. A level is also recommended. If you do not have a mounting hardware kit included with your chest box, you will also need to purchase two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers, and two lock nuts.
Place the chest box in your desired location and check that the lid operates properly. In the bottom of the chest box, select two mounting points that are aligned with the raised ribs in your truck bed. These ribs provide structural support for the fasteners.
1. Place the chest box in the desired location and verify lid operation. 2. Select two mounting points aligned with truck bed ribs. 3. Before drilling, check underneath the vehicle to ensure the drill location will not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, or fuel tanks. 4. Drill through the chest box and truck bed with an 11/32" drill bit. 5. Install fasteners (either your own 5/16"/M8 bolts with washers and lock nuts, or use the 003-CBOXMK hardware kit with 1/2" holes). 6. Tighten all fasteners to the recommended torque values. 7. Use silicone caulk to seal any gaps around the washers to prevent water seepage.
Yes. You must drill through both the chest box and truck bed at two mounting points. The initial hole is drilled with an 11/32" drill bit. If you are using the optional 003-CBOXMK mounting hardware kit, you will then enlarge the truck bed holes to 1/2" and follow the kit's instructions. Before drilling, you must check underneath your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components.
The recommended torque for 5/16" SAE bolts is 7 ft-lbs. However, if you purchase hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware instead of the general guidelines in the manual.
The recommended torque for M8 bolts is 7 ft-lbs. If you purchase hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware instead of the general guidelines in the manual.
You will need to purchase two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers, and two lock nuts. These fasteners are installed through the bottom of the chest box and truck bed after drilling the 11/32" holes.
The 003-CBOXMK is an optional mounting hardware kit that may be included with some UWS utility chest box models. If you are using this kit, you must enlarge the truck bed holes from 11/32" to 1/2" with a 1/2" drill bit and then follow the instructions included with the hardware kit. If your chest box did not include this kit, use standard 5/16" or M8 bolts, washers, and lock nuts instead.
Silicone caulk should be used to fill any open areas around the bolt flat washer or bonded washer inside the chest box. This prevents water from seeping into the chest box and protects your stored items from moisture damage.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials, or hazardous waste, including gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks, or cutting torches. Doing so creates a danger of explosion.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The chest box can reduce your ability to clearly see roadways, traffic, and other objects through the rear and side windows, so extra precaution should be taken when driving.
No. The manual explicitly states: do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Before drilling, check underneath your vehicle to ensure the mounting holes will not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other critical components.
After installation, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps, and locks are firmly secured. Verify that the lid operates properly. Check that all fasteners are tightened to the correct torque values. Use a level to confirm proper alignment if needed.
Periodically inspect all mounting hardware to ensure it remains tight. Re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion, and fatigue before every trip. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. For polished, gloss, and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean with mild automotive detergent only. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes, or similar products that may damage the finish.
Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. This is especially important for fasteners near the fuel tank, as corrosion can weaken the connection and create safety hazards.
If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen them, adjust to the correct position, and re-tighten. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
Yes, but the plastic bed liner may need to be trimmed or cut for proper attachment.
Not all models include a mounting hardware kit. If yours does not, you will need to purchase two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers, and two lock nuts.
7 ft-lbs for standard 5/16" SAE bolts. If you purchase hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
Do not store flammables, explosives, hazardous materials, or hazardous waste, including gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks, or cutting torches.
Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps, and locks are firmly secured before every trip. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion, and fatigue.
