Warranty: Limited Lifetime Warranty (One-Year Finish, One-Year Parts)
Finish: BRIGHT ALUMINUM
Material: Aluminum
Part Type: Chest Box
Compatible with most tonneau covers, the UWS Secure Lock under tonneau chest box is perfect for adding functional storage space and organization to your pickup while maintaining the option of keeping your truck bed covered. It features a low profile, dual-locking handles, a patented RigidCore foam-filled lid and extra-thick, non-corrosive construction. The UWS under tonneau tool box features profile height of 16-1/2". This helps maximize storage area within the box, while keeping it low enough to be compatible with most tonneau covers. The box is also built with an offset lid to add even more storage area without interfering with a rolled up tonneau cover. This under tonneau chest box is also built with enhanced security, featuring the UWS Secure Lock system. The two handles are both lockable and feature a connecting rod and pry-resistant rod enclosure. The box can be locked on the driver side, passenger side or both, and once unlocked, it can be opened from either side, offering convenience without sacrificing security. To increase the strength and security of this under tonneau tool box even more, it features our patented RigidCore foam-filled lid. The lid is made up of two aluminum plates with a solid foam core between them, greatly increasing its rigidity and resistance to warping and binding. The lid is also equipped with a MicroSeal gasket along the entire seam, keeping out water, dust, dirt, grime and insects when the box is closed. The lid opens to a full 90 degrees and has self-opening gas struts for easy operation. To maximize structural integrity, the UWS Secure Lock under tonneau chest box is assembled in the USA with extra-thick 0.058" aluminum, welded together into a one-piece tub, allowing you to store all manner of tools, equipment, supplies and other cargo for the next job or weekend getaway (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

The package includes one utility chest box and two keys. A mounting hardware kit (part number 003-CBOXMK) may or may not be included depending on the model. If the hardware kit is not included, you will need to purchase your own hardware: two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers, and two lock nuts.
No. This product must not be used for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, including gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Doing so creates a danger of explosion.
If your truck has a plastic drop-in bed liner, it may need to be trimmed or cut for proper attachment of the chest box. You should check the fit before drilling and be prepared to modify the liner as needed.
You will need: a drill, 11/32" drill bit, 1/2" drill bit, ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The manual rates the installation difficulty as Easy.
Not all models include a mounting hardware kit. Check your package contents. If the kit is not included, you will need to purchase two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers, and two lock nuts. If you have the mounting hardware kit (part number 003-CBOXMK), follow the instructions included with that kit.
Place the chest box in your desired location and check that the lid operates properly. Select two mounting points in the bottom of the chest box that are aligned with the raised ribs in your truck bed. These ribs provide structural support for the mounting points.
Before drilling, check underneath your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components. Take special precaution that fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or damage during a collision.
Use an 11/32" drill bit to drill through the chest box and truck bed. If you are using the mounting hardware kit (part number 003-CBOXMK), you will then enlarge the holes in the truck bed with a 1/2" drill bit and follow the instructions included with that kit.
The recommended torque for 5/16" SAE bolts is 7 ft-lbs. This is a general guideline; if you purchase hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
The recommended torque for M8 bolts is 7 ft-lbs. This is a general guideline; if you purchase hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
The chest box requires two mounting bolts (either 5/16" or M8), along with four washers and two lock nuts. These are installed through the bottom of the chest box and truck bed at two mounting points aligned with the truck bed ribs.
Yes. After tightening the fasteners, use a silicone-type caulk as needed to fill in any open areas around the bolt flat washer or bonded washer inside the chest box. This prevents water from seeping into the chest box.
The chest box comes with adjustable strikers. If they become misaligned, simply loosen them, adjust to the correct position, and re-tighten. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
Yes. This product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The manual does not specify a weight capacity for the chest box itself; refer to your vehicle's documentation for load limits.
No. Do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Before installation, verify that the chest box placement does not obstruct or damage any factory safety systems.
Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the chest box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. This is especially important for fasteners near the fuel tank.
Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. The manual does not specify an exact interval; inspect them regularly and lubricate as needed to maintain smooth operation.
The manual does not specify which truck models or bed types are compatible. Consult your dealer or the product listing for fitment information. If you have a plastic drop-in bed liner, it may need to be trimmed for proper attachment.
Not all models include the mounting hardware kit. If not included, you must purchase two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers, and two lock nuts separately.
Yes. You must drill two mounting holes using an 11/32" drill bit through the chest box and truck bed. If using the mounting hardware kit (003-CBOXMK), enlarge the truck bed holes to 1/2".
Tighten 5/16" or M8 bolts to 7 ft-lbs. These are general guidelines; if you purchase hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
Yes. Use silicone-type caulk to fill open areas around the bolt washers inside the chest box to prevent water seepage.
Yes. The chest box can reduce visibility through rear and side windows. Extra precaution should be taken when driving.
Periodically inspect and re-tighten all mounting hardware, bolts, screws, straps and locks before every trip to ensure they remain secure.
