Yes, Curt part number 13044 is designed for the 2007 Jeep Liberty. This is a receiver hitch that mounts to the frame rails using existing weldnuts—no drilling is required.
The manual specifies a gross load capacity of 5,000 lbs trailer weight and 500 lbs tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.
Yes. Remove the tow hook if present. If your vehicle is equipped with a fuel tank skid shield, remove the six M12 fasteners securing it to the frame rails and discard them—you will reuse the skid shield during hitch installation by sandwiching it between the frame and the hitch.
1. Remove the tow hook if present. 2. Remove the six M12 fasteners securing the fuel tank skid shield to the frame rails (if equipped) and discard them. 3. Raise the hitch into position, sandwiching the fuel tank skid shield between the frame and the hitch. 4. Loosely install the six M12 fasteners with 1/2" conical washers. 5. Torque all M12 fasteners to 79 ft-lbs.
No. The hitch uses existing weldnuts on the vehicle frame rails. No drilling is required.
The kit includes six hex tap bolts (part number 10-10426) and six 1/2" S-CON washers (part number 30-00149). These are used to secure the hitch to the frame rails.
All M12 fasteners must be torqued to 79 ft-lbs.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
