The kit includes a converter box, a 10 amp fuse for the red in-line fuse holder, a 7.5 amp fuse, a 20 amp fuse, a relay, a white ground wire with ring terminal and screw, double-sided tape, a 4-flat dust cover, and cable ties. For Honda Pilot, a 20 amp SLO-BLO fuse is also included. Specific fuse positions vary by vehicle model.
On the Honda Pilot, there are two taillight wiring connectors: one inside the vehicle behind the driver side rear storage compartment access panel, and one behind the driver side rear bumper on the cross-member.
On the Honda Ridgeline, there are two taillight wiring connectors: one inside the vehicle accessed by opening the rear passenger door and folding the bottom rear seat up, located to the left of the green relays; and one behind the driver side rear bumper on the cross-member.
Insert the custom wiring connector into the vehicle connector. Make sure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place. This connection must be made at both the interior taillight connector and the rear bumper connector.
Drilling may be required to create a grounding point. You can use an existing screw with nut in the vehicle frame, or drill a 3/32" pilot hole for the provided screw. Before drilling, check for miscellaneous items hidden behind or under surfaces to avoid damage and personal injury. The area should be free of rust, dirt and paint.

Signal Circuits are rated at 3.0 amps per side. Tail/Running Circuits are rated at 6.0 amps total. Do not exceed these product ratings or the tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower.

Drill a 3/32" pilot hole for the provided grounding screw. Alternatively, you can use an existing screw with nut in the vehicle frame. The area should be free of rust, dirt and paint.
When in use, route the 4-flat to the center of the vehicle and out of the trunk. When not in use, roll it up and store in a convenient, out of the way location inside the trunk. Secure any loose wires with the provided cable ties. Install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion.
The black converter box attaches to a flat spot on the vehicle frame using the provided double-sided tape. It should be located near the interior taillight connector.

Use a pry tool to remove the connector from the cross-member. Remove the dark blue fastener from the housing by sliding it rearward. Remove the protective cover taking care not to damage the locking tabs.
Honda Pilot: Insert 7.5 amp fuse into position 1, 20 amp fuse into position 4, relay into position 6, and 20 amp SLO-BLO fuse under the hood. Honda Ridgeline: Insert 7.5 amp fuse into position 6 ('+B TRL BACKUP') and 20 amp fuse into position 3 ('TRL E-BRAKE') under the hood.
Test for proper function by using a test light or connecting a properly wired trailer. All installation steps must be followed to ensure the wiring connector will function properly.
Do not exceed the product rating (Signal Circuits 3.0 amps per side, Tail/Running Circuits 6.0 amps total) or the tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower. Exceeding the product rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire.
