No, drilling is not required. The hitch uses existing weldnuts on both frame rails and existing slots in the step bumper, so no modifications to the vehicle structure are necessary.
1. Insert 1/2"-13×1" carriage bolts into the rear step bumper slots. 2. Raise the hitch into position, aligning holes with weldnuts on both frame rails and the carriage bolts. 3. Secure the hitch to the weldnuts using M12×1.25×40 hex bolts and 1/2" conical toothed washers. 4. Secure the hitch to the step bumper using 1/2"-13 hex flange nuts. 5. Torque all fasteners to specification.
Torque all M12 hardware (hex bolts and washers) to 86 ft-lbs. Torque all 1/2" hardware (carriage bolts and flange nuts) to 110 ft-lbs.
