Yes, the 12-21 Nissan NV2500 CURT 4-flat Plug and Play Trailer Wiring (Part #CTW2039) is designed to fit the 2012-2021 Nissan NV2500.
The 12-21 Nissan NV2500 CURT 4-flat Plug and Play Trailer Wiring (Part #CTW2039) fits 2012-2021 Nissan NV2500 models. The 2021 model year is the last year covered by this part number. For newer models, check for an updated version.
The 12-21 Nissan NV2500 CURT 4-flat Plug and Play Trailer Wiring (Part #CTW2039) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The Curt 56148 is designed for Nissan NV 1500, NV 2500, and NV 3500 models. These are full-sized vans in the SUVs, Mini & Full-Sized Vans category. Confirm your exact model year and variant before purchasing.
The Curt 56148 is a custom wiring harness that connects your Nissan NV van's taillight circuits to a trailer connector. It includes a converter box and a 4-flat connector for towing applications.
The manual does not specify required tools. However, the installation involves locating connectors, potentially drilling a 3/32" pilot hole for a ground screw, and routing wires. You may need basic hand tools and a drill. Refer to the included CME-PCL-INS sheet for battery connection requirements, which may specify additional tools.
The taillight wiring connectors are located inside the access pockets in the cargo area behind the rear access panels. On the driver side, they are behind the driver side rear access panel (S3). On the passenger side, they are behind the passenger side rear access panel (S4).
1. Locate the vehicle taillight wiring connectors in the cargo area access pockets. 2. Carefully separate the connectors from the taillight housing without damaging the locking tabs. 3. Insert the custom wiring harness end (yellow wire for driver side, red and green wires for passenger side) between the separated connectors. 4. Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place. Repeat this process on both sides of the vehicle.
Drilling may be required for the ground wire connection. If a suitable existing screw with nut is not available on the vehicle frame near the taillight connector, you will need to drill a 3/32" pilot hole for the provided ground screw. Before drilling, check for hidden items behind or under any surface to avoid damage and personal injury.
Locate a suitable grounding point near the taillight connector, such as an existing screw with nut in the vehicle frame. If none exists, drill a 3/32" pilot hole. The area must be free of rust, dirt and paint. Secure the white ground wire using the ring terminal and the provided screw. Ensure a clean metal-to-metal connection for proper grounding.
Locate a flat spot inside the vehicle near the taillight and adhere the black converter box using the provided double-sided tape. The converter box should be mounted on a clean, dry surface for secure adhesion.
When not in use, roll up the 4-flat connector and store it in a convenient, out-of-the-way location inside the trunk. When in use, route it to the center of the vehicle and out of the trunk. Secure any loose wires with the provided cable ties to prevent tangling and damage.
You must remove the rear scuff panel to route the wiring harness to the passenger side. On the passenger side, remove the jack for ease of installation. All removed items must be reinstalled after the wiring harness installation is complete.
Signal Circuits are rated at 3.0 amps per side. Tail/Running Circuits are rated at 6.0 amps total. Do not exceed these product ratings or your tow vehicle's lamp load rating, whichever is lower. Exceeding the rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire.
The battery connection must be fuse-protected with a maximum 10-amp fuse. Do not exceed this rating. Exceeding the fuse rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire.
After installation, test the wiring harness for proper function using a test light or by connecting a properly wired trailer. This ensures all circuits are functioning correctly before towing. Reinstall all items removed during installation, and install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion.
Do not exceed the product rating (Signal Circuits 3.0 amps per side, Tail/Running Circuits 6.0 amps total) or your tow vehicle's lamp load rating, whichever is lower. Exceeding either limit can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire. Check your vehicle owner's manual or contact the vehicle manufacturer for your specific lamp load rating.
The manual references an included CME-PCL-INS sheet that contains instructions for routing the black power wire from the vehicle battery. This sheet is essential for completing the battery connection portion of the installation. Refer to that sheet for specific routing and connection details.
Yes, the Curt 56148 is designed for Nissan NV 1500, NV 2500, and NV 3500 models.
A 10-amp maximum fuse is required for the battery connection. Do not exceed this rating.
Possibly. You may need to drill a 3/32" pilot hole for the ground screw if an existing screw with nut is not available on the vehicle frame.
Remove the rear scuff panel and the passenger side jack. Both must be reinstalled after installation.
Test the wiring harness using a test light or by connecting a properly wired trailer to verify proper function before towing.
