The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. The fastener kit 24922F includes: (2) 7/16-14 x 2.00 carriage bolts GR5, (2) 7/16 pullwires, (2) spacers (.25 x 1.00 x 3.00), (2) 7/16" conical washers, and (2) 7/16-14 hex nuts. The existing M12 bolts from the frame rails are retained and reused.
Yes. Remove the existing M12 bolts from both the driver and passenger side frame rails in step 1. These bolts must be retained because they are reinstalled through the forward holes in the hitch in step 4.
The reverse pullwire method is shown in Figure 2. After installing the 7/16 carriage bolt and spacer, pullwires are attached and left in place. When the hitch is raised into position, the pullwires are fed through the rearward holes in the hitch to guide it into alignment. The pullwires are then removed once the forward bolts are installed and holding the hitch in place.
Tighten all M12 CL10.9 fasteners with a torque wrench to 92 Lb.-Ft. (120 N·M).
