The vehicle's wiring harness connectors are located in the cargo area behind the taillight in positions P3 and P4, as shown in the Wiring Location Guide on the manual.
Remove all floor coverings, the two plastic push fasteners on each side of the rear scuff panel, and the rear scuff panel itself (by pulling out at the bottom then up). On both sides of the trunk, remove the plastic cargo net tie down using a small flat screwdriver and the two plastic screw fasteners along the trunk floor.
On the driver's side, pull back the trim panel to locate the taillight wiring harness connectors. Separate the connector from the taillight housing carefully, taking care not to damage the locking tabs. Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the separated connectors. Make sure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place. Repeat on the passenger side using the T-Connector end with the green wire.
Drilling may be required for the ground wire connection. Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing screw with nut in the vehicle's frame. If no existing screw is available, drill a 3/32" pilot hole for the provided screw. Before drilling, verify that miscellaneous items hidden behind or under surfaces will not be damaged.
The ground wire is white. Secure it using the ring terminal and screw provided. First, clean the ground area from any rust, dirt or paint. The ground wire connects to an existing screw with nut in the vehicle's frame or to a 3/32" pilot hole drilled for the provided screw.
The T-Connector harness includes a yellow wire (driver's side connection), a green wire (passenger's side connection), and a white ground wire. The converter box connects to a 4-flat wire that routes to the center of the vehicle.
