Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

The hitch is rated for a maximum gross trailer weight of 2000 lb. (908 kg) and a maximum tongue weight of 200 lb. (90 kg). Do not exceed the lower of the towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
Required tools: ratchet, torque wrench, safety glasses, 10 mm socket, 12 mm socket, 11/16" socket, 3–6" socket extension, short Phillips screwdriver, small flat-head screwdriver, utility knife, tape measure, tape, pliers, and marker. Yes. The bumper must be removed using six 12 mm bolts. The original bolts are reused to secure the hitch in place after installation. The bumper hanger support must also be bent to approximately 90 degrees for clearance.
Yes. The lower rear fascia must be trimmed. Locate the center of the bottom panel (tow hook) and trim a 3-3/4" × 3-3/4" wide area. Rounded corners are recommended. Do not use a torch to cut the access hole.
Tighten all M8 CL8 fasteners to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N·M) and all 3/8 GR 5 fasteners to 30 Lb.-Ft. (41 N·M) using a torque wrench.
Always wear safety glasses during installation. Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle. Do not cut access holes with a torch. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fume entry.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Periodically verify that the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle and that all fasteners remain tight.
The fastener kit 24942F includes: (1) U-bolt 3/8-16 GR5, (2) conical washers 3/8", and (2) hex nuts 3/8-16. The conical washers have teeth that must face against the hitch.
No. The drawbar (part number 3593) is sold separately. If you purchase a drawbar, it must be used in the RISE position only.
No. The 24942 hitch is designed for 2015-current Acura TLX models only. For information about fitment on other years or trim levels, visit the Cequent website.
The following must be removed: (2) plastic rivets from the fascia tabs, tail lights and their wiring, lower trunk gasket, lower rear fascia (which requires removing 6 Phillips screws total), and the rear bumper (6 bolts using 12 mm socket). All components except the gasket are reinstalled after hitch installation.
Remove the center of each plastic rivet using a small flat-head screwdriver. Keep the rivets for reinstallation after the hitch is mounted.
First, remove the plastic cover disc that covers the screw on the tail light using a small screwdriver. Remove the fasteners with a 10 mm socket (3 fasteners per side). To remove the tail light, gently push rearward on the tail light at the back while gently pulling outward from the forward end. Disconnect the wiring and set the light aside.
Remove (2) Phillips screws in the wheel well on both sides. Remove (1) Phillips screw on each side inside the fascia at the lower attachment points between the rear fascia and rear side panel (both sides). Gently separate the fascia from the rear side panel by pulling upward. Apply minimum pressure to tabs on the inside of the rear fascia if needed. At the tail lights, apply gentle pressure to support bracket tabs. Continue pulling gently while lifting upward from the bottom of the fascia. Carefully set the fascia aside.
The bumper hanger support must be bent to approximately 90 degrees using pliers to provide clearance for the hitch to fit properly between the bumper and the vehicle's end panel.
1. Hang the U-bolt on the tow hook. 2. Raise the hitch and hang it on the bumper support on the end panel. 3. Raise the bumper to sandwich the hitch between the bumper and end panel. 4. Align the holes and reinstall the original bolts removed from the bumper. 5. Tighten the bolts to hold the hitch in place. 6. Install the remaining fastener for the tow hook.
Yes. The original bolts removed from the bumper in step 4 are reinstalled to secure the hitch in place. These are the same bolts that sandwich the hitch between the bumper and the vehicle's end panel.
All M8 CL8 fasteners must be tightened to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N·M) using a torque wrench.
All 3/8 GR 5 fasteners must be tightened to 30 Lb.-Ft. (41 N·M) using a torque wrench.
Locate the center of the bottom panel (tow hook) and trim a 3-3/4" × 3-3/4" wide area. Rounded corners are recommended. The center of the trim area is 1-7/8" from the centerline on each side.
Reinstall all fasteners, fascia, and tail lights that were removed in steps 1–3. Ensure all components are securely reattached before using the hitch.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not attempt to repair a damaged hitch.
Always wear your seatbelt. Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit. Load the trailer heavier in front. If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up. Always read and follow all warnings and instructions for your vehicle and other accessories used with the hitch.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Periodically verify that the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle.

No. Do not cut, weld, or modify the receiver. Doing so may compromise the structural integrity and safety of the hitch.
The installation time is approximately 60 minutes for professional installers. If you do not feel comfortable performing this installation on your own or are in need of assistance, please contact a professional installer.
No. The 24942 is a weight-carrying hitch only, rated for 2000 lb. maximum gross trailer weight and 200 lb. maximum tongue weight. Weight-distributing capability is not available for this model.
Check that all fasteners are tight. Verify that all M8 CL8 fasteners are torqued to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N·M) and all 3/8 GR 5 fasteners are torqued to 30 Lb.-Ft. (41 N·M) using a torque wrench. Periodically check the hitch to ensure all fasteners and the ball remain properly tightened.
Ensure that the fascia trim area is exactly 3-3/4" × 3-3/4" centered on the tow hook, with the center point 1-7/8" from the centerline on each side. Rounded corners are recommended. If the trim is incorrect, the fascia may not align properly. Verify the trim dimensions match Figure 3 in the manual.
If the hitch has been removed or if holes remain unplugged in the trunk pan or body panels, plug all holes immediately to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. If the hitch is still installed, inspect all fasteners and ensure the hitch is securely mounted.
