Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

The Draw-tite Class 1 Trailer Hitch, 1-1/4" Square Receiver, Black for Select Chevrolet Cruze 24951 (Part #DT24951) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The 24951 hitch is designed for 2017 and newer Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback models. Visit the Cequent website for the most up-to-date information regarding specific application years and trim levels.
The 24951 is a weight-carrying hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight of 2000 lb. (908 kg) and maximum tongue weight of 200 lb. (90.8 kg). Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
Required tools: 7 mm socket, 15 mm socket, T15 Torx bit, 6-inch socket extension, torque wrench, ratchet, safety glasses, tape measure, flat-head screwdriver, plastic trim tools, utility knife, and marker.
No drilling is required. The hitch aligns with existing studs on the vehicle end panel. However, cutting of the rear fascia is required: a notch approximately 3-1/4 inches wide by 3 inches deep must be cut in the lower fascia, and two raised areas inside the fascia must be trimmed flush.
All M10 fasteners must be tightened to 38 Lb.-Ft. (52 N·M) using a torque wrench. Proper torque is essential to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
Yes. The bumper beam must be removed first by unbolting six M10 flange hex nuts using a 15 mm socket. After the hitch is positioned and aligned, the bumper beam is reinstalled on top of the hitch and the M10 nuts are reinstalled and torqued to 38 Lb.-Ft. (52 N·M).
Yes. The taillights must be removed to access the rear fascia. Open the trunk, use a flat screwdriver to open the plastic caps covering the taillight screws, remove two T15 Torx screws from each taillight, pull the taillights rearward, and disconnect the wiring harness. Reinstall them at the end using original hardware.
Always wear your seatbelt. Load the trailer heavier in front. Slow down when towing and never exceed posted speed limits. If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible; do not apply brakes or speed up. Always read and follow all warnings and instructions for your vehicle and other accessories used with the hitch.
Check that all fasteners are tight and the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle. Verify that all wiring to the fascia and taillights is reconnected. Check frequently and periodically to ensure all fasteners and the ball remain properly tightened.
The 24951 is designed for 2017 and newer Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback models. However, compatibility may vary by specific trim level. Visit the Cequent website at www.cequentgroup.com for the most up-to-date information regarding specific application years and trim levels, or contact technical support at 800-632-3290.
No. The 24951 is a weight-carrying hitch only. Weight-distributing capability is marked as not applicable (X) in the hitch specifications. If you need weight-distributing capability, you will need a different hitch model.
Fascia removal requires six steps: (1) Remove four 7 mm screws from the bottom of the fascia and two from the rear near the license plate area. (2) Remove three T15 Torx screws from the wheel well on each side. (3) Remove one 7 mm screw located vertically in the upper wheel well behind the wheel well liner on both sides. (4) Remove taillights by opening plastic caps, removing two T15 Torx screws per light, pulling rearward, and disconnecting wiring. (5) Use a plastic trim panel tool to remove the fascia starting at outer edges near wheel wells, gently pulling and disconnecting the wiring harness. (6) Remove insulation from the end panel and top of bumper beam.
Raise the hitch into position and align the holes in the hitch with the studs on the vehicle end panel. Once aligned, reinstall the bumper beam on top of the hitch and loosely reinstall the M10 flange hex nuts onto the studs in the end panel, three per side. Do not fully tighten until the next step.
The original hardware removed from the fascia in step 1 is reused to reinstall the fascia and taillights at the end of installation. The six M10 flange hex nuts that originally held the bumper beam are removed and then reinstalled on top of the hitch. All other fasteners are original to the vehicle.
Two modifications are required: (1) Cut a notch in the lower part of the fascia approximately 3-1/4 inches wide by 3 inches deep, centered on the vehicle, using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife. (2) Trim the two raised areas located on the inside of the fascia flush with the inside surface using a utility knife. These cuts allow clearance for the hitch receiver.
The M10 fasteners should be loosely installed in step 3 when the hitch is first positioned and the bumper beam is reinstalled. They are then fully tightened to 38 Lb.-Ft. (52 N·M) in step 4 using a torque wrench. This two-stage process ensures proper alignment before final tightening.
After the M10 fasteners are torqued to 38 Lb.-Ft. (52 N·M), the sequence is: (1) Reinstall insulation on top of the bumper beam and end panel. (2) Trim the fascia as required. (3) Reinstall the fascia and taillights using the original hardware removed in step 1. (4) Reconnect all wiring to the fascia and taillights.
Two socket sizes are required: 7 mm socket (for fascia screws and wheel well screws) and 15 mm socket (for bumper beam flange hex nuts). A 6-inch socket extension is also needed. A T15 Torx bit is required for taillight and wheel well screws.
If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up. Maintain steady control until the sway subsides.
Load the trailer heavier in front. This helps maintain stability and control while towing. Do not exceed the maximum tongue weight of 200 lb. (90.8 kg) or the maximum gross trailer weight of 2000 lb. (908 kg).
A hitch or ball that has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not attempt to repair a damaged hitch. If you remove the hitch, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
Six M10 fasteners are used: three on each side of the vehicle end panel. These fasteners are the original flange hex nuts that held the bumper beam. All six must be torqued to 38 Lb.-Ft. (52 N·M).
The manual does not specify whether the battery must be disconnected. Since the installation involves removing and reinstalling taillights and fascia wiring, it is recommended to consult the vehicle manufacturer's instructions or contact a professional installer for guidance on whether battery disconnection is necessary.
The 24951 includes a Limited Lifetime Warranty covering material defects in materials and workmanship, excluding ordinary wear and tear. The warranty is valid only if the product is installed, maintained, and used according to the instructions. To make a warranty claim, contact Cequent Performance Products at 47912 Halyard Drive, Suite 100, Plymouth, MI 48170, or call 1-800-632-3290. You must provide the product and original purchase receipt. Product replacement is the sole remedy; Cequent is not liable for service or labor charges.
The average installation time for professional installers is 60 minutes. If you do not feel comfortable performing this installation on your own or are in need of assistance, contact a professional installer.
No. Do not cut, weld, or modify the hitch receiver. Modifications will compromise the structural integrity and safety of the hitch and may void the warranty.
The Drawbar Kit 3594 is sold separately and is used with the 24951 hitch. It must be used in the RISE position only. Consult the drawbar kit instructions for proper installation and use.
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Additionally, observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle, including wearing eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
Check the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Periodically verify that the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle. Regular inspection helps ensure safe towing.
The insulation on the end panel and top of the bumper beam is removed to allow access for hitch installation. After the hitch is mounted and the bumper beam is reinstalled, the insulation is replaced to restore thermal and acoustic protection.
The 24951 hitch complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. This protects the vehicle interior and prevents corrosion.
