Yes, CURT 13277 is designed for the 2017 Audi Q7 SUV.
CURT 13277 has a maximum trailer weight of 7,000 lbs and a tongue weight of 700 lbs when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
Required tools: ratchet, 18mm socket, 6" socket extension, T25 Torx bit, torque wrench, tape measure, masking tape, rotary tool, plastic panel removal tools, and safety glasses.
No, drilling is not required. The hitch uses existing vehicle weldnuts for attachment.
Yes, bumper fascia trimming is required. You must measure and trim the fascia to the dimensions shown: 7.25" width, 3.50" height, and 1.75" from the center line.
All bolts securing the hitch and bumper beam must be torqued to 58 ft-lbs.
The hitch weight is 120 lbs.
Two people may be required to ease installation, though it may be possible for one person to complete it.
CURT 13277 is a weight-carrying receiver hitch designed for the 2017 Audi Q7 SUV. It allows you to tow trailers up to 7,000 lbs with a maximum tongue weight of 700 lbs, subject to your vehicle manufacturer's towing capacity limits.
CURT 13277 is specifically designed for the 2017 Audi Q7 SUV. The manual does not indicate compatibility with other model years or vehicles. Contact CURT technical support at 877-287-8634 to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle.
The manual does not specify whether the battery must be disconnected. However, you will be disconnecting electrical connectors from lights and sensors along the bumper fascia during installation. For safety, consider consulting your vehicle's service manual or contacting CURT technical support at 877-287-8634 before beginning.
The first step is to remove 4 screws along each wheel well using a T25 Torx bit screwdriver. Then pull the wheel liner back to expose an additional screw for removal.
Remove screws in this order: (1) 4 screws along each wheel well with T25 Torx bit, pull wheel liner back and remove 1 additional screw; (2) 4 screws from bottom of each wheel well liner and 4 screws from middle underside area of fascia; (3) 2 screws from body trim piece at upper wheel well. Disconnect all electrical connectors from lights and sensors. Gently pull off the bumper fascia starting near the wheels and moving towards the trunk.
Place the hitch on the end panel and the bumper beam on top of the hitch. Raise both into position, aligning the holes with the vehicle's weldnuts. Loosely secure with the 4 bolts on each side (8 bolts total) that were removed from the bumper beam. Then torque all bolts to 58 ft-lbs.
Unclip the kick sensor wire from inside the bumper fascia and move it away from the trim area. Measure the trim area on the fascia to the dimensions shown: 7.25" width, 3.50" height, and 1.75" from the center line. Mark the area with masking tape and trim the section using a rotary tool.
The kick sensor wire is unclipped from inside the bumper fascia during the trimming step and moved away from the trim area. After the fascia is reinstalled, the wire is re-attached behind the receiver tube. Note that sensors may require additional dealer recalibration after installation.
First, reinstall the fascia that was removed in step 4. Then re-attach the kick sensor wire after the fascia is fully reinstalled.
The manual notes that sensors may require additional dealer recalibration after installation. You should contact your Audi dealer to determine if recalibration is necessary for your specific vehicle and sensors.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product.
All non-trailer (wheel-less) loads applied to this hitch must be supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. See the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com for further information.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. This should be done regularly to maintain safe operation.
CURT 13277 has a challenging difficulty level. The manual recommends reading all instructions thoroughly before beginning and suggests that 2 people may be required to ease installation. If you are hesitant to undertake this task, contact an authorized CURT installer for assistance.
Professional installation takes approximately 40 minutes. Novice DIY installation takes approximately 120 minutes.

Use a T25 Torx bit screwdriver to remove all screws from the bumper fascia and wheel well liners. The manual specifies T25 Torx bits for all screw removal steps.
An 18mm socket is required to remove the 4 bolts on each side of the bumper beam (8 bolts total).
The 6" socket extension is listed as a required tool. It is used with the 18mm socket to reach and remove the bumper beam bolts.
A rotary tool is used to trim the bumper fascia section. Mark the trim area with masking tape using the dimensions provided (7.25" width, 3.50" height, 1.75" from center line) before trimming.
Plastic panel removal tools may be used to ease removal of the body trim piece at the upper wheel well during step 3 of the installation.
Ensure the hitch and bumper beam are raised into position correctly, aligning the holes with the weldnuts. If alignment is still difficult, weldnut cleaning may be required. Clean the weldnuts and try again. If problems persist, contact CURT technical support at 877-287-8634.
Verify that you have trimmed the fascia to the correct dimensions: 7.25" width, 3.50" height, and 1.75" from the center line. Use the trim diagram provided in the manual as a reference. If the fascia still does not fit, contact CURT technical support at 877-287-8634.
The manual notes that sensors may require additional dealer recalibration after installation. Contact your Audi dealer to have the sensors recalibrated. Ensure that the kick sensor wire has been properly re-attached behind the receiver tube after fascia reinstallation.
