Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Maximum gross trailer weight is 2000 lb (908 kg) and maximum tongue weight is 200 lb (90.8 kg). Do not exceed the lower of your vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
Required tools: ratchet, torque wrench, safety glasses, M10 socket, M12 socket, 11/16" socket, 6" socket extension, and flat head screwdriver.
All 7/16"-14 Grade 5 fasteners must be tightened to 50 ft-lb (68 N·m) using a torque wrench.
No drilling is required. The hitch uses existing access holes in the vehicle frame. The manual explicitly states: "Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch."
Do not exceed the lower of your vehicle manufacturer's towing rating or 2000 lb (908 kg) gross trailer weight with a maximum tongue weight of 200 lb (90.8 kg).
Yes, the exhaust must be lowered during installation. Using an M12 socket, remove (2) M12 flange nuts to lower the exhaust. The exhaust must be supported before removing the fasteners. Reinstall the exhaust after the hitch is mounted.
Fastener kit 24993F includes: (4) carriage bolts 7/16"-14 x 1.5" Grade 5, (4) spacers 3/16" x 1" x 2" (part #3837), (4) conical washers 7/16" (part #01292007), (4) hex nuts 7/16" Grade 2, and (4) pullwires 7/16"-14 (part #5481).
Pullwires (part #5481) are used to guide the carriage bolts and spacers through the vehicle frame access hole. They are attached to the bolts during installation, left in place while raising the hitch, then removed after the hitch is positioned and aligned. The pullwires help keep the spacer independent of the bolt by kinking the wire.
The conical washers must be installed with the teeth side facing toward the hitch bracket. This orientation is critical for proper fastening.
Three components must be removed: (1) the driver side trim panel—remove (4) pop rivets and (2) M10 flange nuts using a flat head screwdriver and M10 socket; (2) the heat shield—remove (3) M10 flange nuts using an M10 socket; (3) the vehicle exhaust—remove (2) M12 flange nuts using an M12 socket. All removed components should be returned to the vehicle owner.
Installation sequence: (1) Remove trim panel from driver side; (2) Lower vehicle exhaust (ensure it is supported); (3) Remove heat shield; (4) Install hitch using pullwires to guide carriage bolts and spacers through frame access hole, then raise hitch into position and align bracket holes; (5) Tighten all 7/16"-14 Grade 5 fasteners to 50 ft-lb (68 N·m); (6) Reinstall exhaust.
Yes. The manual explicitly states: "Be sure that exhaust is supported before removing M12 flange nuts." This is a critical safety requirement to prevent the exhaust from falling.
Always wear safety glasses during installation. The manual states: "Always wear SAFETY GLASSES when installing hitch." Additionally, observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection.
Carriage bolts are 7/16"-14 x 1.5" Grade 5. Four bolts are included in fastener kit 24993F. They must be tightened to 50 ft-lb (68 N·m) using a torque wrench.
Spacers are 3/16" x 1" x 2" (part #3837). Four spacers are included in fastener kit 24993F. They are installed between the carriage bolts and the vehicle frame to maintain proper spacing.
Conical washers are 7/16" (part #01292007). Four washers are included in fastener kit 24993F. They must be installed with the teeth side facing toward the hitch bracket.
Hex nuts are 7/16" Grade 2. Four nuts are included in fastener kit 24993F. They are tightened to 50 ft-lb (68 N·m) using a torque wrench.
Using the pullwires, install the carriage bolts and spacers into the vehicle frame through the access hole. Leave the pullwires attached. Raise the hitch into position and align the holes in the hitch bracket to the carriage bolts. Guide the pullwire ends through the holes in the hitch bracket, then remove the pullwires.
After the hitch is positioned and aligned, install the conical washers (teeth side toward hitch) and nuts. Then tighten all 7/16"-14 Grade 5 fasteners to 50 ft-lb (68 N·m) using a torque wrench. This is step 5 of the installation process.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. The manual states: "Check all fasteners are tight and your hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle periodically." Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not attempt to repair a damaged hitch.
Always wear your seatbelt. Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit. Load the trailer heavier in front. If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up.
The authorized drawbar kit is part number 3593 (sold separately). The drawbar must be used in the RISE position only.
The average installation time is 30 minutes for professional installers. If you do not feel comfortable performing this installation on your own or are in need of assistance, please contact a professional installer.
The product includes a Limited Lifetime Warranty covering material defects in both material and workmanship, ordinary wear and tear excepted. The warranty is valid only if products are returned for inspection, defects are confirmed not caused by misuse, neglect, improper installation, or accident, and the product was installed and maintained according to instructions. Product replacement is the sole remedy. Contact Horizon Global at 47912 Halyard Drive, Suite 100, Plymouth, MI 48170, 1-800-632-3290 to make a warranty claim.
Do not cut, weld, or modify this receiver. The manual explicitly states: "DO NOT cut, weld or modify this receiver."
Required socket sizes: M10 socket (for trim panel and heat shield fasteners), M12 socket (for exhaust fasteners), 11/16" socket, and a 6" socket extension.
Check all fasteners and tighten them to the proper torque specification of 50 ft-lb (68 N·m) using a torque wrench. The manual states: "Check all fasteners are tight and your hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle periodically." Loose fasteners compromise the security of the hitch during towing.
If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up. Reduce speed and regain control before continuing.
