Made from welded steel with a black premium finish, the Hidden Hitch series of hitches are custom designed to ensure a superior fit for each make and model vehicle. Each Hidden Hitch is designed with a two-inch receiver opening to fit a number of different accessory attachments like bike racks, cargo carriers, and more! Draw-Tite Hidden Hitches are rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight (GTW) and are best suited for use with accessories or light-duty towing. The integrated anti-theft lockable receiver ensures added safety when the hitch is in use, while the included anti-rattle hitch pin provides premium performance and security. When you are not using the Hidden Hitch, you can store the removeable receiver, anti-rattle pin, and weather covers in the hard sided carrying case that is included with your purchase.
These dependable, premium custom hitches are manufactured for 2016-2023 BMW X1 and attach to your vehicle?s frame behind the bumper for a luxuriously clean appearance. Hidden Hitch trailer hitches have a sleek black powder coat finish for superior rust and corrosion resistance and come complete with all the mounting hardware needed for installation. Plus, each hitch is tested to meet - and exceed - V-5 and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide lifetime limited warranty.
So, take that extra cooler out to the lake, hit the bike trails in the park, or hook up that utility trailer and tackle your honey-do home repairs. When you are done, remove the evidence (i.e., the removeable receiver), and go for a cruise. With the Hidden Hitch, you can do it all! Brought to you by Draw-Tite, North America?s Favorite Hitch.

Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Maximum Gross Trailer Weight (GVWR) is 3,500 lb (1,589 kg) and maximum tongue weight is 350 lb (159 kg). This is a weight-carrying hitch only; weight-distributing capacity is not available.
Required tools: ratchet, torque wrench, safety glasses, sockets (8 mm, 10 mm, 18 mm, 19 mm), socket extension, flat head screwdriver, tape, marker, tin snips, plastic rivet gun, pry bar, and 19 mm wrench.
The manual states the average installation time is 90 minutes for professional installers. If you do not feel comfortable performing the installation yourself or need assistance, contact a professional installer.
No drilling is required. The hitch uses existing M12 studs on the vehicle's end panel. However, the heat shield must be trimmed with tin snips, and the fascia, taillight, and wheel well trim must be removed and reinstalled.
Torque all hitch fasteners to 68 lb-ft (92 N·m). The receiver housing fasteners are torqued separately to 92 lb-ft (125 N·m).
Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or the hitch rating of 3,500 lb GVWR and 350 lb tongue weight. Load the trailer heavier in front. If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel steady—do not apply brakes or speed up. Always wear your seatbelt and slow down when towing.
Check that all fasteners are tight and the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle. The manual recommends checking the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
The kit includes the hitch receiver assembly, receiver housing with weather covers, fastener kit 76923F (containing 8 plastic rivets, 2 M12×1.75×100 CL 10.9 hex bolts, 2 7/16" flat washers, 2 M12-1.75 CL10 prevailing torque nuts), 1 warning card, and 2 warning labels.
The weather covers install on the top and bottom of the receiver housing to protect it from the elements. They are included with the hitch and must be installed before attaching the receiver housing to the hitch.
No. The 76923 is a weight-carrying hitch only. Weight-distributing capacity is listed as N/A in the specifications.
The ball mount must have a maximum length of 10.5 inches (measured from the center of the ball hole to the center of the pin hole) and a minimum rise of 0.75 inches (measured from the top of the shank to the top of the ball platform).
Two quick-link options are available (sold separately): #49131 (5/16 inch) and #44133 (3/8 inch). Both are rated for a maximum GVWR of 3,500 lb.
Use the key to unlock the blue knob. Push in the blue knob and rotate it clockwise until you hear a click sound. At that point, you can separate the receiver from the receiver housing. The receiver housing stays attached to the hitch.
Two fastener assemblies are used: each consists of an M12 bolt, a flat washer, and a prevailing torque nut. These are torqued to 92 lb-ft (125 N·m).
1. Remove the taillight (both sides). 2. Remove the fascia and wheel well trim (both sides). 3. Remove the heat shield. 4. Remove the impact bar. 5. Raise the hitch and impact bar into position, aligning holes with studs on the end panel, and loosely reinstall the 4 existing M12 flange nuts. 6. Torque all hitch fasteners to 68 lb-ft (92 N·m). 7. Trim the heat shield with tin snips. 8. Reinstall the heat shield, taillights, wiring, and fascia with supplied plastic rivets.
Yes. Step 4 of the installation requires removing the 4 nuts from the impact bar using an 18 mm socket. The impact bar is then reinstalled after the hitch is torqued in place.
The following must be removed: taillight assemblies (both sides), fascia, wheel well trim (both sides), heat shield, and impact bar. All are reinstalled after the hitch is mounted. The heat shield is trimmed but not removed permanently.
Using tin snips, trim the area shown in Figure 3: approximately 4.50 inches wide by 7.50 inches tall, cutting up to the bend line. The heat shield is then reinstalled.
The 4 existing M12 flange nuts on the vehicle's end panel studs are reused. All other fasteners removed during disassembly (plastic screws, 8 mm screws, 10 mm nuts, plastic rivets) are saved and reinstalled in their original locations.
Eight plastic rivets (included in kit 76923F) are used to reattach the wheel well trim to the wheel well liner after the hitch is installed. They replace the original plastic rivets that were removed during disassembly.
Yes. Step 5 instructs to loosely reinstall the 4 existing M12 flange nuts onto the studs in the end panel. Step 6 then torques all hitch fasteners to 68 lb-ft (92 N·m) with a torque wrench.
Leave the foam sealant in place when removing the impact bar. Do not remove or disturb it.
Use tape to protect the trim and fascia from damage while removing and reinstalling components.
Move the wiring near the center section to the side before raising the hitch and impact bar into position.
Plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
Take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up.
Load the trailer heavier in front. This helps maintain stability and control while towing.
No. Do not cut, weld, or modify the receiver. Any modifications will void the warranty and compromise safety.
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle and wear eye protection.
Check the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. The manual emphasizes periodic inspection to ensure the hitch remains securely mounted.
A hitch or ball that has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not continue to use a damaged hitch.
Keep the warning card in the vehicle's glove compartment for future reference.
Apply one label to the top of the receiver and one label to the vehicle door jamb.

Retorque the receiver housing fasteners to 92 lb-ft (125 N·m). The manual emphasizes checking the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners remain tight. If fasteners continue to loosen, inspect for damage or improper installation.
Retorque all hitch fasteners to 68 lb-ft (92 N·m) using a torque wrench. The manual requires periodic checking to ensure all fasteners remain tight. If fasteners repeatedly loosen, the hitch may not be properly seated on the studs or the studs may be damaged.
If the hitch has been removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. If the hitch is still installed, inspect all fastener holes and seals to ensure they are properly sealed.
The T-One® Connector is a wiring harness that integrates with your vehicle's taillight system to provide trailer lighting control. It intercepts the vehicle's taillight signals and routes them to a trailer connector, allowing your trailer lights to function in sync with your vehicle's brake, turn, and running lights.
The manual shows installation on a BMW X1 in the diagram. However, the manual does not explicitly list all compatible vehicles or model years. Contact the manufacturer or your installer to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle year and configuration before purchasing.
You will need: trim panel remover, 10mm socket and ratchet (or 10mm wrench), drill with 3/32" drill bit, wire crimpers, wire cutters, Phillips head screwdriver, and a test probe. These tools are required to remove taillights, disconnect wiring, drill a ground hole, and test the installation.
The kit includes: double-sided tape for mounting the black box, an eyelet and screw for grounding, cable ties for securing the harness, yellow butt connectors for wire connections, and a yellow fuse holder with a 15 amp fuse. All fasteners and connectors needed for installation are provided.
Yes. You must disconnect the vehicle's negative (-) battery cable before connecting the power wiring to the battery. This is done in step 11, after routing the black 12 gauge wire from the front of the vehicle. Reconnect the battery cable only after the fuse holder and all connections are complete.
Yes. You must remove both the driver and passenger side taillights to access the taillight wiring connectors. Open the rear tailgate, remove two 10mm nuts from each taillight pocket, and carefully pull the taillights away from the vehicle without damaging the alignment pins. The taillights are reinstalled at the end of the installation.
After removing the taillights and disconnecting the vehicle wiring harness, insert the T-One® Connector ends between the vehicle's taillight connectors and lock them into place. The yellow wire connector goes on the driver's side and the green wire connector goes on the passenger's side. Ensure the locking tabs are fully engaged and not damaged. The connectors sandwich between the vehicle's original connectors.
Mount the black box underneath the vehicle behind the rear bumper fascia on the driver's side using the double-sided tape provided. The epoxy side of the module must point toward the ground to prevent water buildup. Choose a suitable mounting point that is protected and accessible.
You may need to drill one 3/32" hole for the ground wire, but only if a suitable existing ground stud is not available near the connector. If you drill, do not drill into the vehicle floor or bed. Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area before securing the white ground wire with the eyelet and screw provided.
Route the yellow wire harness underneath the vehicle up through the opening between the bumper and body to the driver's side taillight pocket. Route the green wire harness underneath the vehicle to the passenger's side taillight pocket. Route the black 12 gauge power wire from the front of the vehicle rearward along the frame rail. Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tank, and any points that may pinch or break the wire. Secure all wires with the cable ties provided.
Disconnect the negative battery cable first. Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder provided. Cut the fuse holder wire and attach the ring terminal to the vehicle's positive (+) battery cable. Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 gauge wire using a yellow butt connector. Route the black wire along the frame rail from the front of the vehicle to the black power wire on the T-Connector black box, connecting with another yellow butt connector. Finally, reconnect the negative battery cable and install the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Use a 15 amp fuse in the yellow fuse holder provided. Install the fuse after all wiring connections are complete and the negative battery cable has been reconnected.
Always wear safety glasses during installation. Read and follow all warnings and instructions included with the product and printed on the tow vehicle's battery before beginning. Do not exceed the product's amperage ratings or the towing manufacturer's rating stated in your vehicle's owner's manual. Avoid routing wires through hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tank, or points that may pinch or break the wire. Do not drill into the vehicle floor or bed. Secure all loose wires and keep the trailer tow harness in an accessible location.
After installation is complete, test and verify the installation with a test light or by connecting an actual trailer. For the initial test, reset the vehicle's electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition. All connections must be complete for the T-One® Connector to function properly. Use a test probe to verify continuity and proper signal transmission.
After all wiring is complete, reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, floor covering, and any other items that were removed during installation. Be careful not to pinch or cut the wires when reinstalling these components. Secure all loose wires and mount the trailer tow harness in an accessible location with a bracket or electrical box.
The manual shows installation on a BMW X1. For other vehicles, contact the manufacturer or installer to confirm fitment before purchasing.
Trim panel remover, 10mm socket/ratchet or wrench, drill with 3/32" bit, wire crimpers, wire cutters, Phillips screwdriver, and test probe.
Yes, disconnect the negative battery cable before connecting the power wire. Reconnect only after all connections are complete and the 15 amp fuse is installed.
Drilling is optional: only if no existing ground stud is available. If you drill, use a 3/32" bit and do not drill into the vehicle floor or bed.
15 amp fuse in the yellow fuse holder provided.
Do not exceed the product's amperage ratings or your vehicle's towing manufacturer rating. Overloading circuits can cause fires. Mount the black box with epoxy side pointing down to prevent water buildup.
Verify that all connections are complete and properly seated. Check that the 15 amp fuse is installed in the fuse holder. Reset the vehicle's electrical system by temporarily removing the ignition key. Test with a test light or trailer to confirm proper function. Ensure the negative battery cable is fully reconnected. If the issue persists, verify that all connector locking tabs are fully engaged on both the driver and passenger side taillight connections, and that connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.
The black box is mounted with the epoxy side pointing upward instead of toward the ground. Remount the black box so that the epoxy side points toward the ground to prevent water buildup. This orientation is required to allow water to drain away from the module.
