These dependable custom hitches are manufactured for 2018-2020 Hyundai Elantra, 2018-2023 KIA Rio and attach to your vehicle?s frame or bumper for a sleek, clean appearance. Each hitch also has a 1-1/4 inch square receiver tube opening so you can easily attach accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier, or a utility trailer. DRAW-TITE Class 1 custom trailer hitches come complete with all the mounting hardware needed for installation and are backed by a nationwide lifetime limited warranty. So, whether you are headed out to the campground and need a place for the cooler, taking the bikes to hit the trails in the park, or you are tackling a DIY project (maybe some landscaping or a home repair), choose DRAW-TITE and travel with confidence knowing your setup is connected with the security only DRAW-TITE can provide. DRAW-TITE: North America?s Favorite Hitch.

Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

A second person or jack is recommended to steady and support the hitch while lifting it into position and holding it until all bolts are installed. This is especially important for the 2019 Hyundai Elantra and Kia Rio installations.
The average installation time for professional installers is 40 to 60 minutes. If you do not feel comfortable performing the installation on your own or need assistance, contact a professional installer.
Yes, drilling is required for Kia Rio installation. You must drill a ½" hole in the bottom of the frame at the center of the slot in the hitch (both sides) using the hitch as a template. Additionally, you must drill a ¼" hole through the fascia for cable ties, located 13" from the vehicle centerline and 2-1/4" from the forward edge of the lower fascia (both sides).
No drilling is required for Hyundai Elantra installation (either 2018 or 2019 model year). However, trimming of the lower fascia and modification of the heat shield are required.
For Hyundai Elantra: Cut a 3-inch-wide by 5-inch-long section from the center of the lower fascia to provide clearance for the receiver tube. For Kia Rio: Cut a 5-inch-wide by 3-inch-deep notch in the bottom center of the fascia. Use a utility knife and tape measure to mark the section before cutting.
Removal of the heat shield is not required, but it can be removed to assist with modification. If you remove it, cut or bend the area around the rearmost stud to make clearance for the hitch arm, and ensure you leave the hole in the heat shield so it may be reattached. If removed, modify and reattach it.
Torque specifications are: all M8 fasteners to 27 Lb-Ft (37 N·M); all M10 fasteners to 42 Lb-Ft (57 N·M); all 8mm fasteners to 27 Lb-Ft (37 N·M); all 10mm fasteners to 42 Lb-Ft (57 N·M); and all 7/16" fasteners to 50 Lb-Ft (68 N·M). Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
All 7/16" fasteners should be tightened to 50 Lb-Ft (68 N·M) using a torque wrench. This applies to both Hyundai Elantra and Kia Rio installations.
All M8 fasteners should be tightened to 27 Lb-Ft (37 N·M) using a torque wrench. This applies to Korean-built models of both Hyundai Elantra and Kia Rio.

USA-built models use M10-1.25 x 35mm CL10.9 hex bolts and 7/16" conical washers (torque to 42 Lb-Ft / 57 N·M for M10 bolts). Korean-built models use M8-1.25 x 40mm CL10.9 hex bolts and 3/8" conical washers (torque to 27 Lb-Ft / 37 N·M for M8 bolts). Both use 7/16" carriage bolts torqued to 50 Lb-Ft (68 N·M). The installation procedure is otherwise the same.
Attach items j and k (hex bolts and conical washers) to item n (fish wire). Insert the fish wire through the access hole in the vehicle frame. Once the hitch is raised into position, feed the coiled end of the fish wire through the drilled hole and out of the forward access hole. Attach the 7/16" carriage bolt and spacer block to the fish wire and pull the fasteners into position. Then remove the fish wire and install the conical washers and hex nuts onto the carriage bolts.
The teeth side of the conical washer should face against the hitch. This applies to both the 7/16" conical washers and the 3/8" conical washers.
Yes, for 2019 Hyundai Elantra models, you must remove the taillights. Open the trunk, remove the access panel from behind the taillight, use a 10mm socket to remove the two hex nuts securing the taillight, unplug the electrical connector, and gently pull the taillight horizontally rearward. Repeat on the other side. Ensure the filler panel on the side of the light assembly is reinstalled before reinstalling the taillights.
No, taillight removal is not required for 2018 Hyundai Elantra models. The 2018 installation procedure involves removing the plastic cover and lower fascia without removing the taillights.
Yes, for Kia Rio models, you must remove the taillights. Open the liftgate, remove the small access panel from behind the taillights, use a 10mm socket to remove four hex nuts securing the taillights (both sides), unplug the wiring, and gently pull the taillights rearward.
Yes, the exhaust must be lowered for all vehicle models. Use an exhaust hanger removal tool (or pry bar) to remove the rubber isolators from the hangers. Support the exhaust before lowering it. After the hitch is installed, raise the exhaust back into position by reattaching the rubber isolators to the hangers.
The authorized drawbar kit is part number 3593, sold separately. The drawbar must be used in the RISE position only.
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Support the exhaust before lowering it. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. Do not cut, weld, or modify the receiver. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not attempt to repair a damaged hitch.
Load the trailer heavier in front. Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or 2000 lb GVWR / 200 lb tongue weight. Always wear your seatbelt. Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit. If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up.
Check the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Verify that the hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle periodically. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.

Check the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Verify that the hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle periodically.
Ensure that the spacer blocks (for Kia Rio) or the blocks are properly aligned with the frame access holes before raising the hitch into position. For Kia Rio, tape the spacer blocks to the end panel aligning the holes in the blocks with the weldnuts in the bumper beam. Use a second person or jack to steady the hitch while lifting into position. Do not push the hardware into the frame.
If the fish wire becomes stuck, do not force it. Ensure that the hitch is properly positioned and that the carriage bolts and spacer blocks are aligned with the frame access holes. For Kia Rio, ensure that the ½" hole has been drilled in the bottom of the frame at the center of the slot in the hitch. The conical washer can be used to hold the bolt in place while removing the fish wire and installing the hex nut.
Ensure that the fascia has been trimmed to the correct size: 3 inches wide by 5 inches long for Hyundai Elantra, or 5 inches wide by 3 inches deep for Kia Rio. For Kia Rio, also ensure that the two raised areas used to connect plastic support brackets have been removed flush to the inside surface of the lower fascia. Align the fascia tabs properly before snapping into place.
Check all fasteners frequently to ensure they are properly tightened. If fasteners are loose, retighten them to the specified torque: M8 fasteners to 27 Lb-Ft (37 N·M), M10 fasteners to 42 Lb-Ft (57 N·M), and 7/16" fasteners to 50 Lb-Ft (68 N·M). Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
Ensure that the exhaust has been properly lowered before installing the hitch and raised back into position after installation. For Kia Rio, the heat shield may need to be bent down near the exhaust hanger area to allow the hitch side arm to sit flat against the bottom of the frame on the passenger side. Support the exhaust before lowering and ensure the rubber isolators are properly reattached to the hangers.
The T-One® Connector is a taillight wiring integration module that allows a trailer to connect to a vehicle's existing taillight harness. It intercepts the vehicle's taillight wiring on both driver and passenger sides, integrating trailer brake and signal lights into the vehicle's electrical system. The connector includes a black box-module, wiring harness with yellow and green ends, a 15 amp fuse holder, and grounding hardware.
The manual shows installation on a Kia Rio Sedan. The connector is designed to work with vehicles that have a taillight wiring harness with connectors matching the T-One® Connector ends. Compatibility depends on your vehicle's taillight connector type and configuration. Consult the product fitment database or contact the manufacturer to confirm compatibility with your specific vehicle model and year.
Required tools are: trim panel remover, 10 mm socket and ratchet or 10 mm wrench, drill with 3/32" drill bit, 1/4" socket, wire crimpers, wire cutters, Phillips head screwdriver, and test-probe. These tools are needed for connector separation, drilling the grounding hole, wire routing, and electrical testing.
The kit includes: T-One® Connector ends with yellow and green wires, black 12 ga. power wire, white grounding wire with eyelet and screw, yellow fuse holder with 15 amp fuse, yellow butt connector, cable ties, and the black box-module. A 4-Flat connector is also mentioned for storage in the trunk when not in use.
Yes. Step 7 requires you to disconnect the vehicle's negative (−) battery cable before connecting the fuse holder to the positive battery terminal. After all connections are complete, you reconnect the negative battery cable in step 8 and install the 15 amp fuse.
Open the trunk and temporarily remove the rear threshold plate. Partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights to access the taillight wiring harness on both driver and passenger sides. This provides access to the vehicle's taillight connectors where the T-One® Connector ends will be inserted.
On the driver's side, locate the taillight wiring harness connector and separate it carefully without breaking the locking tabs. Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle's wiring connectors and lock into place, ensuring connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs engaged. Route the green-wire end to the passenger's side behind panels and along the threshold, then plug it between the mating plugs on the passenger's side taillight socket and vehicle harness. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt before connecting.
Yes. You must drill a 3/32" hole to secure the white grounding wire. Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector on the vehicle's frame or crossmember (do not drill into the vehicle floor or bed). Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area, then drill the hole and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided. Before drilling, verify what is behind the surface to avoid damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
Drill a 3/32" hole for the white grounding wire. This hole is drilled into a suitable grounding point on the vehicle's frame or crossmember, not into the floor or bed.
Locate the black 12 ga. power wire from the T-Connector box on the driver's side. Attach the black 12 ga. wire provided. Route the black wire along the exterior frame or follow existing wiring along the thresholds into the engine compartment up to the battery. Avoid areas that may pinch or break the wire. If routing through a grommet and along the vehicle exterior, carefully avoid hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, and other points that may pinch or break the wire.
The T-One® Connector uses three wire colours: yellow (driver's side taillight connector end), green (passenger's side taillight connector end), and white (grounding wire). The black 12 ga. power wire is routed separately from the T-Connector box to the battery via a yellow fuse holder and yellow butt connector.
A 15 amp fuse is used. The fuse is installed in the yellow fuse holder provided with the kit. The fuse holder is connected between the black 12 ga. power wire and the vehicle's positive (+) battery terminal using a yellow butt connector.
After disconnecting the vehicle's negative battery cable, remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder if not already removed. Cut the fuse holder wire and attach the ring terminal to the vehicle's positive (+) battery cable. Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga. wire using the yellow butt connector provided. Reconnect the negative battery cable and install the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Mount the black box-module on a flat surface in an out-of-the-way location to prevent damage or rattling. The exact location is not specified in the manual, but it should be secure and protected from impact.
Secure the remainder of the T-One® T-Connector harness with the cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling. Be careful to avoid any areas that would pinch, cut, or melt the wire. After securing the harness, replace the carpet and any other clips or panels that were removed during installation, taking care not to cut or pinch the wires.
Always wear safety glasses during installation. Before drilling, verify what is behind any surface to avoid damage to the vehicle or personal injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces. When routing the power wire, avoid hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, and other points that may pinch or break the wire. Read and follow all warnings printed on the vehicle's battery. Do not exceed the product's stated amperage ratings or the towing manufacturer's rating, as overloading circuits can cause fires.
All connections must be complete for the T-One® Connector to function properly. Test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer once installed. For the initial test, reset the vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition. Use a test-probe to verify proper electrical continuity and function.
Store the 4-Flat connector in the trunk area when not in use.
Yes. Disconnect the negative battery cable before connecting the fuse holder to the positive terminal. Reconnect after all connections are complete and the 15 amp fuse is installed.
