Yes, the Air Lift Air Lift 1000 Air Spring Kit 60838 (Part #BBCG60838) is designed to fit the 2013-2025 Nissan Pathfinder.
The Air Lift Air Lift 1000 Air Spring Kit 60838 (Part #BBCG60838) fits 2013-2025 Nissan Pathfinder models. The 2025 model year is the last year covered by this part number. For newer models, check for an updated version.
The Air Lift Air Lift 1000 Air Spring Kit 60838 (Part #BBCG60838) fits the following vehicles: 2013-2025 Nissan Pathfinder. Always verify your specific year, make, and model before ordering.
The Air Lift Air Lift 1000 Air Spring Kit 60838 (Part #BBCG60838) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The Air Lift 1000 is a cylinder-style air bag system that provides up to 1,000 pounds (454 kg) of load-leveling support when installed into your vehicle's coil springs. Each air spring cylinder is rated at a maximum of 35 PSI (2.4 BAR). The system is designed to help level the vehicle under load and improve ride quality.
Yes, Kit 60838 (MN-1164) is designed for the Nissan Pathfinder. However, you should verify your specific model year and configuration match the kit specifications. If you have questions about fitment for your particular vehicle, contact Air Lift customer service at (800) 248-0892.
You will need: needle nose and regular pliers, a 5/16" drill bit, a drill, a hose cutter, razor blade or sharp knife, a hoist or floor jack, 2 safety stands, safety glasses, an air compressor or compressed air source, and a spray bottle with dish soap/water solution. A tire spoon or blunt instrument is also needed to help insert the air spring into the coil spring.
The kit includes: 2 air springs (46137), 2 protectors (09333), 15 feet of air line (20937), 6 zip ties (10466), 2 valve caps (21230), 4 5/16" hex nuts (21233), 2 rubber washers (21234), 2 star washers (18411), 2 M8 flat washers (18501), 1 tee fitting (21236), 2 Schrader valves (21455), 6 air line clamps (10638), and 1 air line heat shield (10613).
Jack up the rear of the vehicle or raise it on a hoist. Support the frame with 2 safety stands. Then lower the axle or raise the body until the coil springs are completely extended with the wheels hanging. This gives you proper access to the coil springs for air spring installation.
First, remove the black plastic cap from the barbed stem on the air spring and exhaust the air by rolling it up toward the stem. Replace the cap. Fold the air spring into a "hot dog bun shape" and insert the flattened end into the top opening of the coil spring with the stem pointing downward. Push the air spring down by hand or with a blunt instrument like a tire spoon. Once fully inserted, remove the cap and allow the air spring to assume its "as molded" shape.
The protector (part 09333) is a component that protects the air spring inside the coil spring. After inserting the air spring, push it up to the top of the coil spring. Insert the protector through the side of the coil spring and under the air spring. Adjust it so the stem is in the middle of the center hole, then push the cylinder down to the bottom of the coil spring. Repeat for the other side.
Install an air line clamp (L) onto one end of the air line (C). Push the air line onto the barbed stem of the cylinder, completely covering the barb. Using needle nose pliers, position the air line clamp over the barbs to secure it. Make sure the air line and clamp completely cover the barb on the end of the cylinder.
On the driver's (left) side, use a zip tie and the two holes in the lower control arm to secure the air line, leaving a little slack. Route the air line behind and over to the lower control arm pivot point and secure with another zip tie. On the passenger's (right) side, route the air line forward of the lower control arm, install an air line heat shield (M) on the lower control arm, and zip tie it like the driver's side. Then route both air lines to the top, back side of the rear crossmember and over to the driver's side above the lower control arm pivot point, securing with zip ties.
A single-path air line installation uses a tee fitting (J) to connect both air springs to a single Schrader valve. It is recommended for vehicles that typically have even weight distribution. If weight in the vehicle varies from side to side and unequal pressures are needed to level the load, use a dual-path installation instead, which eliminates the tee fitting and routes separate air lines for both air springs.
Make clean, square cuts with a razor blade or hose cutter. Do not use scissors or wire cutters, as they will not produce a clean cut. A good cut is straight and perpendicular to the line; a bad cut is angled or jagged.
For all air line connections: (1) Slide the air line clamp onto the air line. (2) Push the air line and air line clamp (L) over the barbed stem so that the air line covers all the barbs. (3) Compress the ears on the air line clamp with pliers and slide it forward to fully cover the barbs. This procedure applies to connections at the tee fitting, Schrader valve, and air springs.
Yes. You must drill a 5/16" (8 mm) hole in your chosen location for the Schrader valve (K). Select a location that will be protected and accessible, such as inside the fuel tank filler door, inside a rear wheel well, or in the rear bumper area. The valve is then mounted through this hole with the rubber washer (G) serving as an outside weather seal.
The hole size is 5/16" (8 mm). Drill this hole in your chosen location for the Schrader valve before mounting the valve.
Install the air line on the Schrader valve first. Then, from outside the vehicle, insert the valve through the 5/16" (8 mm) hole. From inside, assemble in this order: hex nut, flat washer (I), star washer (H), rubber washer (G), and finally the valve cap (E). The rubber washer serves as an outside weather seal. Tighten the hex nut to secure the valve.
The maximum air pressure is 35 PSI (2.4 BAR). Never inflate beyond this pressure. The actual air pressure needed is dependent on load and your vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). Always maintain normal ride height and do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's maximum GVWR or payload rating.
The minimum recommended air pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR). This should be maintained to keep the system functional while at normal ride height.
Maintain at least 6" (152 mm) clearance from the exhaust system to the air line to prevent the air line from melting. If an air line heat shield was included in the kit, install it. If there is no heat shield but one is required, contact Air Lift customer service at (800) 248-0892.
Inflate the air springs to 30 PSI (2 BAR) and ensure there is at least 1/2" (13 mm) clearance from anything that might rub against each air spring. Be sure to check the tire, brakes, frame, shock absorbers and brake cables.
Perform these checks in order: (1) Clearance test at 30 PSI (2 BAR) — ensure at least 1/2" (13 mm) clearance from tires, brakes, frame, shock absorbers and brake cables. (2) Leak test at 30 PSI (2 BAR) — check all connections for leaks; all leaks must be eliminated before road testing. (3) Heat test — verify at least 6" (152 mm) clearance from heat sources. (4) Fastener test — after 500 miles (800 km), recheck all bolts for proper torque. (5) Road test — drive 10 miles (16 km) and recheck for clearance, loose fasteners and air leaks.
Use a spray bottle with a dish soap and water solution. Inflate the air springs to 30 PSI (2 BAR) and apply the soapy water solution to all air line connections and the inflation valve core. Bubbles will form at any leak location. All leaks must be eliminated before the vehicle is road tested. If the system develops an air leak during use, check all air line connections and the inflation valve core with soapy water before deflating and removing the air spring.
Check air pressure weekly. The minimum recommended pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR) and the maximum is 35 PSI (2.4 BAR). Always maintain normal ride height.
After 500 miles (800 km) of driving, recheck all bolts for proper torque. This is part of the post-installation inspection process to ensure everything remains secure.
