Yes, the Air Lift Air Lift 1000 Air Spring Kit 60842 (Part #BBCG60842) is designed to fit the 2019-2025 Toyota RAV4.
The Air Lift Air Lift 1000 Air Spring Kit 60842 (Part #BBCG60842) fits 2019-2025 Toyota RAV4 models. The 2025 model year is the last year covered by this part number. For newer models, check for an updated version.
The Air Lift Air Lift 1000 Air Spring Kit 60842 (Part #BBCG60842) fits the following vehicles: 2019-2025 Toyota RAV4. Always verify your specific year, make, and model before ordering.
The Air Lift Air Lift 1000 Air Spring Kit 60842 (Part #BBCG60842) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The Air Lift 1000 is a load-leveling air spring system for Toyota Rav4 vehicles. It uses air springs installed into the vehicle's coil springs to provide up to 1,000 pounds (454 kg) of load-leveling support. Each air spring is rated at a maximum of 35 PSI (2.4 BAR).
Yes, kit 60842 is designed for the Toyota Rav4. However, the manual does not specify which model years are compatible. Contact Air Lift customer service at (800) 248-0892 to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle year.
Required tools are: hoist or floor jack, two safety stands, drill with 5/16" bit, hose cutter or razor blade (do not use scissors or wire cutters), needle nose pliers, safety glasses, air compressor or compressed air source, spray bottle with dish soap/water solution, and tire spoon or blunt instrument.
The kit includes: 2 air springs (part 46135), 2 lower protectors (09112), 15 feet of air line (20937), 6 zip ties (10466), 2 valve caps (20230), 4 5/16" hex nuts (21233), 2 rubber washers (21234), 2 star washers (18411), 2 M8 flat washers (18501), 1 tee fitting (21236), 2 Schrader valves (21455), and 6 air line clamps (10638).
Jack up the rear of the vehicle or raise it on a hoist. Support the frame with two safety stands. Lower the axle or raise the body until the springs are completely extended. Remove the plastic cap from the barbed stem on the air spring and exhaust the air by rolling the spring toward the stem. Reinstall the cap and fold the spring into a hotdog shape before installation.
Push the folded air spring through the hole in the lower control arm while twisting simultaneously. Make sure the stem is facing down when installed. Alternatively, you can follow the vehicle manufacturer's instructions to remove the coil spring, insert the air spring into the coil, and replace the assembly using the manufacturer's torque specifications for all removed hardware.
The lower protector is a component that protects the air spring. After installing the air spring into the coil, slide the lower protector through the side of the coil, under the air spring. Align the air spring so that the barbed stem lines up with the inner hole on the protector.
Cut the 15-foot air line in half. Install an air line clamp on each end of the halves, approximately 2 inches from the edge. Install the air line onto the barbed stem, ensuring the hose completely covers the barbed stem. Using needle nose pliers, slide the clamp up the air line and over the barbed stem to secure it.
Route the air lines through the control arms and up to a proper location for the tee fitting. Ensure the air lines are secured away from any pinch points and sharp edges. Maintain at least 6 inches (152 mm) clearance from the exhaust system to prevent the air line from melting.
Single-path installation is recommended for vehicles with even weight distribution. Both air springs connect to a single tee fitting, which then connects to the Schrader valve. Dual-path installation is used when weight varies from side to side and unequal pressures are needed to level the load. In dual-path, the tee fitting is eliminated and separate air lines route from each air spring to the Schrader valve.
Make clean, square cuts using a razor blade or hose cutter. Do not use scissors or wire cutters, as these will not produce a clean cut. Leave sufficient air line slack to prevent any strain on the fitting during axle motions.
For all air line connections: slide the air line clamp onto the air line, push the air line and clamp over the barbed stem so the line covers all barbs, then compress the ears on the clamp with pliers and slide it forward to fully cover the barbs. This procedure applies to connections at the tee fitting, Schrader valve, and air springs.
Yes, you must drill a 5/16" (8 mm) hole for the Schrader valve if one does not already exist at your chosen location. Select a location that will be protected and accessible with an air hose, such as inside the fuel tank filler door, inside rear wheel wells, or the license plate or rear bumper area.
Install the air line on the Schrader valve first. From outside the vehicle body or bumper, insert the Schrader valve through the 5/16" hole. On the inside, stack components in this order: flat washer (M8), star washer, rubber washer (which serves as an outside weather seal), then secure with a 5/16" hex nut. Install the valve cap on the stem.
After raising the suspension or lowering the body completely and removing the safety stands, inflate the air springs to 5 PSI (0.34 BAR). Do not inflate beyond this pressure until you have read the Maintenance and Use Guidelines and the user guide included with the kit.
The maximum air pressure is 35 PSI (2.4 BAR). Never inflate beyond this pressure. Although the air springs are rated at this maximum, the actual pressure needed depends on load and your vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). Do not exceed your vehicle's GVWR or payload rating as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer.
The minimum recommended pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR). Always maintain normal ride height and check air pressure weekly.
Maintain at least 6 inches (152 mm) clearance from the exhaust system to the air line to prevent the air line from melting. This applies to both the air lines and air springs.
Perform a clearance test by inflating to 30 PSI (2 BAR) and checking for at least 1/2" (13 mm) clearance from the tire, brakes, frame, shock absorbers and brake cables. Perform a leak test by inflating to 30 PSI and checking all connections for leaks using a soapy water solution. Verify at least 6" (152 mm) clearance from heat sources. After these tests, road test the vehicle at recommended driving pressures for 10 miles (16 km) and recheck for clearance, loose fasteners and air leaks.
After 500 miles, recheck all bolts for proper torque. This is part of the post-installation inspection checklist.
Check air pressure weekly to ensure the system is operating at the correct pressure for your load.
Use a spray bottle with a soapy water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core. Bubbles will form at the location of any leak. Check all connections before deflating and removing the air spring. All leaks must be eliminated before the vehicle is road tested.
Kit 60842 is designed for the Toyota Rav4. Confirm your specific model year with Air Lift customer service at (800) 248-0892.
You need a hoist or floor jack, safety stands, drill with 5/16" bit, hose cutter or razor blade, needle nose pliers, safety glasses, air compressor, and spray bottle with soapy water.
Maximum pressure is 35 PSI (2.4 BAR). Check air pressure weekly. Do not exceed your vehicle's GVWR or payload rating.
Maintain at least 6 inches (152 mm) clearance from the exhaust system to the air line and air springs to prevent melting.
Inflate to 30 PSI and verify 1/2" clearance from tires, brakes, frame, shocks and cables. Check all connections for leaks using soapy water. Verify 6" clearance from heat sources. Road test for 10 miles and recheck.
Use a spray bottle with soapy water solution to identify the exact location of the leak. Check all air line connections and the inflation valve core. Once you have identified the leak, deflate and remove the air spring if necessary to repair the connection. All leaks must be eliminated before the vehicle is road tested.
Reposition the air line to maintain at least 6 inches (152 mm) clearance from the exhaust system. If a heat shield was included in the kit, install it. If there is no heat shield but one is required, contact Air Lift customer service at (800) 248-0892 for assistance.
If the clearance test at 30 PSI (2 BAR) reveals less than 1/2" (13 mm) clearance from the tire, brakes, frame, shock absorbers or brake cables, the air spring position must be adjusted or the suspension geometry must be reviewed. Do not proceed with road testing until adequate clearance is confirmed.
