You will need: needle nose and standard pliers, a 5/16" drill bit, a drill, a hose cutter or razor blade, a hoist or floor jack, 2 safety stands, safety glasses, an air compressor or compressed air source, a spray bottle with dish soap/water solution, and a tire spoon or blunt instrument. Do not use scissors or wire cutters to cut air lines.

Raise the rear of the vehicle using a hoist or floor jack and support the frame with 2 safety stands. Lower the axle or raise the body until the coil springs are completely extended with the wheels hanging. This allows proper access to the coil springs for air spring insertion.
First, remove the black plastic cap from the barbed stem on the air spring and exhaust the air by rolling it up toward the stem. Replace the cap to hold its flat shape. Fold the air spring into a 'hot dog bun shape.' Insert the flattened end into the top opening of the coil spring with the stem pointing downward. Push it down by hand or with a blunt instrument like a tire spoon. Once fully inserted, remove the cap and allow the air spring to assume its molded shape.
The protector is a component that supports and centers the air spring cylinder within the coil spring. After inserting the air spring, push the cylinder up to the top of the coil spring. Insert the protector through the side of the coil spring and under the cylinder. Center the cylinder stem in the center hole of the lower protector, then push the cylinder down to the bottom of the coil spring.
Install an air line clamp onto one end of the air line and install the air line onto the barbed stem of the cylinder, completely covering the barb. Using needle nose pliers, position the air line clamp over the barbs to secure it. Make sure the air line and clamp completely cover the barb.
Use a zip tie and the two holes in the lower control arm to secure the air line, leaving a little slack. Route the air line up through the large hole into the center of the lower control arm. Continue routing the air line up to the upper crossmember behind the coil spring and cut it as shown in the manual. Secure the air line to the crossmember using zip ties and existing holes, ensuring the air line is above the crossmember.
Route the passenger's (right) side air line up and across the upper crossmember to the driver's (left) side, just behind the coil spring. Cut the air line as shown in the manual and install the tee fitting and air line clamps per the air line assembly instructions.
The Schrader valve can be installed in several locations: inside the fuel tank filler door, inside rear wheel wells, or in the rear bumper area. The manual shows an example of installation behind the inner fender well. Select a location where the valve will be protected and accessible with an air hose. If installing in the location shown, route the hose to the end of the crossmember and back around to the area behind the inner fender well, attaching it to existing wiring with a zip tie.
Yes, you must drill a 5/16" (8 mm) hole for the Schrader valve. Drill this hole at your chosen valve location, ensuring the valve will be protected and accessible with an air hose. The rubber washer serves as an outside weather seal.
Make clean, square cuts with a razor blade or hose cutter. Do not use scissors or wire cutters, as they will damage the air line. Determine and cut adequate length of air line to reach from the air springs to the tee fitting or Schrader valve, leaving sufficient slack to prevent strain on the fitting during axle motions.
The tee fitting connects the air lines from both the left and right air springs into a single line that runs to the Schrader valve. It is used in single-path air line installations, which are recommended for vehicles with even weight distribution. For dual-path installations where unequal pressures are needed to level uneven loads, the tee fitting is eliminated and separate air lines are routed for each air spring.
The maximum air pressure is 35 PSI (2.4 BAR). Never inflate beyond this pressure. The minimum recommended air pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR). The actual air pressure needed depends on your load and your vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR).
