Spacers are required only for 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty and 2002-2007 Jeep Wrangler models. Insert spacers at the bottom between the air cylinder and the bottom spring seat. Do not use spacers for Jeep Commander, late-model Liberty, Dodge Nitro, or Grand Cherokee.
Yes. For LandCruiser models, remove the rubber bump stop from the upper spring seat using a socket and extension, then discard it. For Jeep Liberty, Commander, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, and Dodge Nitro, pull the jounce bumper out of the cup.
A 3/4" (19mm) access hole must be drilled in the center of the lower spring seat for the valve stem. Use the template provided on the last page of the manual to mark the location. You can drill the hole out to 1/2" and grind it larger to reach 3/4". Remove all burrs and sharp edges after drilling.
Drill a 5/16" (8mm) hole for the Schrader valve. Mount the valve as shown in Figure 9, with the rubber washer serving as an outside weather seal.
It may be necessary to unbolt the brake line hangers to prevent pulling on the hose when lowering the axle to remove the coil spring. It may also be necessary to unbolt the sway bar to gain additional clearance to drop the axle far enough for lower spring seat access. Most sway bars unbolt from the axle; some may be attached to the lower control arm.
1. Slide the air line clamp onto the air line. 2. Push the air line and clamp over the barbed stem so the air line covers all barbs. 3. Compress the ears on the air line clamp with pliers and slide it forward to fully cover the barbs. Leave sufficient air line slack to prevent strain on the fitting during axle motions.
A single-path (tee) air line installation is recommended for vehicles with even weight distribution. Use a dual-path installation if weight in the vehicle varies from side to side and unequal pressures are needed to level the load or compensate for axle torque transfer in racing applications. For dual-path, eliminate the tee fitting and route separate air lines for both air springs.
Select a location for the Schrader valve that ensures it will be protected and accessible with an air hose. Recommended locations include inside the fuel tank filler door, inside rear wheel wells, or the license plate or rear bumper area. Drill a 5/16" (8mm) hole and mount the valve with the rubber washer as an outside weather seal.
The minimum pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR). The maximum inflation pressure is 35 PSI (2.4 BAR). Although the air springs are rated at 35 PSI maximum, the actual pressure needed depends on load and gross vehicle weight rating. Never exceed 35 PSI.
Maintain at least 6" (152mm) clearance from the exhaust system to the air lines to prevent the air line from melting.
Inflate the air springs to 30 PSI (2.07 BAR) and ensure there is at least 1/2" (13mm) clearance around each air spring, away from anything that might rub against them. Check the tire, brake drum, frame, shock absorbers, and brake cables. Maintain at least 6" (152mm) clearance from any heat sources. If a heat shield was included in the kit, install it.
Inflate the air springs to 25 PSI (1.7 BAR) initially. Test for air leaks by applying a liquid soap and water solution to all valve cores, fittings, and connections. Before road testing, inflate to 30 PSI (2.07 BAR) and recheck all connections for leaks with a soapy water solution. All leaks must be eliminated before the vehicle is road tested.
Yes, a 2-4 PSI (0.14-0.3 BAR) loss after initial installation is normal. Recheck air pressure after 24 hours. If pressure has dropped more than 5 PSI (0.3 BAR), re-test for leaks with a soapy water solution.

Check the air pressure weekly. Always maintain normal ride height and never inflate beyond 35 PSI (2.4 BAR).
Recheck all bolts for proper torque immediately after installation. Re-torque all fasteners after 100 miles (161 km) of driving.
Use a soapy water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core. Apply the solution to all valve cores, fittings, and connections to identify leaks. If the system develops an air leak, check these areas before deflating and removing the air spring. All leaks must be eliminated before the vehicle is road tested.
