They are made with rugged, durable components for long, reliable service. Air Lift 1000 kits fit many popular customer vehicles with coil springs. They're designed to: add support to rear springs on many popular SUVs, replace OEM front air springs on P-30 motor homes, provide front end support for snowplows, winches, etc., improve muscle car traction for drag racing, and improve ride and handling for full-size vans and trucks with front coil springs. Air adjustable with quick connecting, easy-to-use air fittings, Air Lift 1000 air helper springs have a typical max pressure of 35 PSI on cars and SUVs, and 90 PSI on motorhomes. It uses air-filled cylinders installed inside the coil springs to help level the vehicle and support additional weight. Yes. The Air Lift 1000 is designed for vehicles with coil spring suspensions. The air cylinders are inserted into the coil springs themselves. The manual does not address compatibility with other suspension types such as leaf springs or air suspensions.
Yes. The coil springs must be removed for this installation. The process involves jacking up the rear of the vehicle, detaching shock absorbers and the panhard bar, temporarily disconnecting brake line mounting brackets, lowering the axle, and removing the coil springs. The springs are reinstalled after the air cylinders are inserted.
Support the vehicle frame with safety stands after jacking up the rear. Lower the axle carefully until the coil springs are free, and do not strain the brake lines during this process. Mark the position of the cut end of the coil spring on the upper spring seat before removal so the springs can be reinstalled in the same position.
Yes. The exposed portion of the rubber jounce bumper must be cut off. For Toyota Sequoia specifically, measure 6.75 inches (172 mm) from the flat surface that the jounce bumper strikes inside the coil spring, mark a line on the side of the jounce bumper, and cut on that line. For other vehicles, follow the vehicle-specific notes provided with your kit.
A 3/4 inch (19 mm) diameter hole must be drilled in the cup of the upper side of the lower spring seat. Use the provided template (Line B) centered in the cup, secure it with a dab of grease, center punch, and drill. Remove any burrs and sharp edges after drilling.
A 5/16 inch (8 mm) diameter hole must be drilled for the Schrader valve. The valve is mounted with the rubber washer serving as an outside weather seal.
Single-path (tee fitting) installation is recommended for vehicles with even weight distribution. Use dual-path installation (separate air lines for each air spring, no tee fitting) if weight varies from side to side and unequal pressures are needed to level the load.
1. Slide the air line clamp onto the air line. 2. Push the air line and clamp over the barbed stem so the air line covers all barbs. 3. Compress the ears on the air line clamp with pliers and slide it forward to fully cover the barbs. This procedure applies to all air line connections.
Select a location for the Schrader valve that ensures it will be protected and accessible with an air hose. Recommended locations shown in the manual include inside the fuel tank filler door, inside rear wheel wells, or the license plate or rear bumper area.
The maximum inflation pressure is 35 PSI (2.4 BAR). Never inflate beyond this pressure. However, the actual air pressure needed is dependent on load and gross vehicle weight rating, and may be less than the maximum.
The minimum recommended pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR). Always maintain normal ride height and check air pressure weekly.

No. Do not inflate the air springs before reading the Maintenance and Use Guidelines in the installation guide and the User Guide included with the kit. This is critical for safety and proper system operation.
No. Do not exceed the maximum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) or payload rating as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer. The Air Lift 1000 provides load support but does not change these limits.
Perform four checks before road testing: 1) Clearance test—inflate to 25-35 PSI and verify at least 1/2 inch clearance from all components. 2) Leak test—inflate to 25-35 PSI and use soapy water to check all connections; eliminate all leaks before driving. 3) Heat test—verify at least 6 inches clearance from heat sources. 4) Road test—drive 10 miles and recheck for clearance, loose fasteners, and air leaks.
Check air pressure weekly. Always maintain normal ride height.
Use a soapy water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core. If a leak is detected, identify the source using the soapy water test. The manual recommends consulting the included User Guide for detailed information about fixing air leaks before deflating and removing the air spring.
Leave sufficient air line slack to prevent any strain on the fitting during axle motions. This applies to both the routing from the air springs to the tee fitting (or Schrader valve in dual-path systems) and the routing from the tee to the Schrader valve.
Yes. A 3/4 inch hole must be drilled in the lower spring seat and a 5/16 inch hole for the Schrader valve. The jounce bumper must also be trimmed.
