Yes, the LoadLifter 5000 Series kits (57354, 88354, 93354) are designed for Ford SD F-250/F-350 4WD SRW (Single Rear Wheel) applications. The kit is not compatible with dual rear wheel (DRW) configurations.
The LoadLifter 5000 kit provides up to 5,000 pounds (2,268 kg) of load-leveling support. Air pressure is adjustable from 5 to 100 PSI (0.34 to 7 BAR).
The three kits are: (1) Standard LoadLifter 5000 — Zytel® plastic end cap and zinc-plated steel roll plates; (2) LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate — Zytel® plastic end cap and black powder-coated roll plates; (3) Standard Air Lift® ProSeries — aluminum end cap and zinc-plated steel roll plates. You can identify which kit you have by examining the end caps on the air spring and the roll plates.
Required tools include: standard and metric open-end or box wrenches, ratchet, standard and metric sockets, 5/16" drill bit (very sharp), 9/16" crow's foot adapter, 9/16" ratchet combo wrench, heavy-duty drill, torque wrench, standard and metric hex-key wrenches, flat-tip screwdriver, hose cutter/razor blade/sharp knife, hoist or floor jacks, two safety stands, safety glasses, air compressor or compressed air source, and spray bottle with dish soap/water solution.
The manual does not specify whether battery disconnection is required. Contact Air Lift customer service at (800) 248-0892 for clarification on this step.
The vehicle must be raised and supported using safety stands or equivalent so that the axle can be safely lowered away from the frame. The jounce bumper assembly must be unbolted and removed from under the frame on both sides. The clip-in studs (four total, two from each side) must be pried out from the frame using a screwdriver.
The M10-1.5 x 35 mm button-head cap screws (part J) that attach the upper bracket to the frame should be torqued to 38 lb.-ft. (52 Nm).
The 3/8" hex cap screw (part X) that attaches the ABS/brake junction bracket to the existing bracket on the axle should be torqued to 31 lb.-ft. (42 Nm).
The radiused (rounded) edge of the roll plate should be toward the air spring so that it is seated inside the roll plate. The roll plate sits on top of the air spring during assembly.
The 3/8"-24 x 7/8" hex-cap screw (part T) that attaches the upper air spring bracket to the air spring should be torqued to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
The 3/8"-24 x 3/4" flat-head socket-cap screws (part S) that attach the lower bracket main plate to the air springs should be torqued to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
The lower bracket cup (part C) is installed onto the lower bracket main plate over the carriage bolt and capped with a serrated flange lock nut (part Q). The bolt should be snugged down but left loose enough for the bracket to move freely in the slot.
The U-bolts (part H) should be snugged evenly just enough to hold the lower bracket main plate flush against the stock U-bolts initially. After the lower clamp bars are installed and torqued, the U-bolt hardware should be finished by torquing to 10 lb.-ft. (14 Nm).
The lower clamp bar (part A) hardware should be evenly torqued to 16 lb.-ft. (22 Nm).
The 3/8" serrated flange lock nuts (part Q) that cap the upper frame bracket carriage bolts should be torqued to 31 lb.-ft. (42 Nm) initially when aligning the air spring bracket, then finished at 32 lb.-ft. (43 Nm) on both sides.
The 90-degree swivel fitting (part R) should be installed into the port on top of the air spring finger-tight plus 1½ turns. The fitting should point inboard toward the center of the vehicle.
Yes. The 3/8"-16 x 1" carriage bolt (part I) that goes through the lower bracket should be snugged down but left loose enough for the bracket to move freely in the slot during assembly. It is tightened later as part of the final installation sequence.
Yes, drilling is required only for the Schrader valve installation. A 5/16" (8 mm) hole must be drilled in the chosen location for the Schrader valve, typically inside the fuel tank filler door, inside rear wheel wells, or in the license plate or rear bumper area.
Yes. On vehicles that have a sway bar, the front carriage bolt must be cut just below the nut so it does not contact the sway bar.
The left ABS harness mount must be pried out from the left (driver's) side brake line/ABS harness/vent tube bracket on the axle at the top and bottom mounting locations. The wiring harness is then pulled down and attached to the ABS/brake junction bracket (part Y), which is attached to the existing bracket on the axle with a 3/8" hex cap screw (part X), flat washer (part V), and serrated flange lock nut (part Q), torqued to 31 lb.-ft. (42 Nm). A zip tie (part BB) is installed around the harness to finish the relocation.
Use zip ties to secure the air line to fixed points along the chassis. Do not pinch or kink the air line. Leave at least 2" (51 mm) of slack in the air line to allow for any movement that might pull on the air line. The minimum bend radius for the air line is 1" (25 mm). Maintain at least 6" (152 mm) of clearance between all air lines and the exhaust system, and avoid sharp bends and edges.
Make clean, square cuts with a razor blade or hose cutter when cutting the air line. Do not use scissors or wire cutters.
The maximum air pressure is 100 PSI (7 BAR). Do not exceed this pressure. Although the air springs are rated at this maximum, the actual air pressure needed is dependent on load and gross vehicle weight rating.
The minimum recommended pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR).
Do not exceed the maximum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) or payload rating as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer. Although the air springs are rated at a maximum inflation pressure of 100 PSI (7 BAR), exceeding the GVWR or payload rating can result in damage to the vehicle and safety hazards.
Maintain at least 6" (152 mm) of clearance between all air lines and the exhaust system. A heat shield should be installed where the air line is closest to the exhaust, with a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) dead air space between the shield and exhaust.
Complete the following checks: (1) Clearance test — inflate to 40-60 PSI and verify at least 1/2" (13 mm) clearance from tires, brakes, frame, shock absorbers and brake cables; (2) Leak test — inflate to 40-60 PSI and check all connections for leaks; (3) Heat test — verify at least 6" (152 mm) clearance from heat sources and install heat shield if included; (4) Fastener test — after 500 miles, recheck all bolts for proper torque; (5) Road test — drive 10 miles and recheck for clearance, loose fasteners and air leaks.
Check air pressure weekly. Always maintain normal ride height. Never inflate beyond 100 PSI (7 BAR). If the system develops an air leak, use a soapy water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core before deflating and removing the air spring.
All bolts should be rechecked for proper torque after 500 miles (800 km) of driving.
Pull or push the hard brake line away from the lower bracket carriage bolt to gain clearance. This check should be performed once the lower brackets are secured on the right (passenger's) side.
Use a soapy water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core. Spray the solution on all connections and look for bubbles indicating a leak. All leaks must be eliminated before the vehicle is road tested.
Yes, kits 57354, 88354, and 93354 fit Ford SD F-250/F-350 4WD SRW (Single Rear Wheel) models. The kit does not fit dual rear wheel (DRW) configurations.
You will need wrenches, sockets, a torque wrench, a 5/16" drill bit, a heavy-duty drill, a hose cutter, safety stands, safety glasses, and an air compressor. A complete tools list is provided on page 3 of the manual.
Upper frame bracket: 38 lb.-ft. (52 Nm); ABS bracket: 31 lb.-ft. (42 Nm); air spring bracket bolts: 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm); upper frame carriage bolts: 31-32 lb.-ft. (42-43 Nm); lower clamp bars: 16 lb.-ft. (22 Nm); U-bolts: 10 lb.-ft. (14 Nm).
Inflate to 40-60 PSI and verify 1/2" clearance from tires, brakes, frame, and shock absorbers; check all connections for leaks; verify 6" clearance from exhaust; after 500 miles, recheck all bolt torque; road test for 10 miles and recheck clearance and leaks.
Check air pressure weekly. Maintain normal ride height. Never exceed 100 PSI. If an air leak develops, use soapy water to locate it before deflating the system. Recheck all bolt torque after 500 miles.
