The Air Lift LOADLIFTER 5000. 57295 (Part #BBCG57295) fits 2003-2010 Dodge Ram 2500 models. The 2018 model year is the last year covered by this part number. For newer models, check for an updated version.
The Air Lift LOADLIFTER 5000. 57295 (Part #BBCG57295) fits the following vehicles: 2003-2010 Dodge Ram 2500; 2003-2010 Dodge Ram 3500; 2011-2013 Ram 2500; 2011-2018 Ram 3500. Always verify your specific year, make, and model before ordering.
Yes, the Air Lift LOADLIFTER 5000. 57295 (Part #BBCG57295) is designed to fit the 2003-2010 Dodge Ram 2500.
The Air Lift LOADLIFTER 5000. 57295 (Part #BBCG57295) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Yes. The MN-1050 kits (57295, 88295, 93295, 57297, 88297) are designed for Dodge/RAM 2500/3500 models in both 2WD and 4WD configurations. The manual does not specify model years; contact Air Lift at (800) 248-0892 to confirm fitment for your specific year.
Required tools include: standard and metric wrenches and sockets, adjustable wrench, ratchet, 5/16" drill bit, 3/8" nut driver, heavy-duty drill, torque wrench, hex-key wrenches, hose cutter or sharp knife, hoist or floor jacks, two safety stands, safety glasses, compressed air source, and spray bottle with dish soap/water solution.
The manual does not mention battery disconnection. No electrical work is required for this air spring installation.
Yes. You must drill a 5/16" (8mm) hole for each Schrader valve location. The manual states 'drill a 5/16" (8mm) hole, if necessary,' indicating drilling is required unless the holes already exist. Use a sharp 5/16" drill bit and heavy-duty drill.
The maximum air pressure is 100 PSI (7 BAR). Never inflate beyond this pressure. The minimum recommended air pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR). Actual pressure needed depends on load and gross vehicle weight rating.
The LoadLifter 5000 series provides up to 5,000 pounds (2,268 kg) of load-leveling support with air adjustability from 5–100 PSI (0.34–7 BAR).
Perform five checks: (1) Clearance test at 40–60 PSI to ensure 1/2" clearance from tires, brakes, frame, shocks and cables; (2) Leak test at 40–60 PSI on all connections; (3) Heat test to verify 6" clearance from heat sources; (4) Fastener test after 500 miles to recheck bolt torque; (5) Road test after 10 miles to recheck clearance, fasteners and leaks.
The three product lines differ in end cap and roll plate materials. Standard LoadLifter 5000 has a plastic end cap and silver zinc-plated steel roll plates. LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate has a plastic end cap and black powder-coated roll plates. Air Lift ProSeries has an aluminum end cap and silver zinc-plated steel roll plates. All provide the same 5,000-pound load-leveling support.
If your vehicle does not have a rear brake proportioning valve or is equipped with an anti-lock brake system, installation will have no effect on braking performance. If your vehicle has a rear brake proportioning valve, Air Lift recommends checking with your dealer before installation, as any load assist product could affect braking performance.
Raise the vehicle and support it using safety stands or equivalent so that the axle can be safely dropped away from the frame. This clearance is necessary to position the air spring assemblies between the axle and frame. Do not rely on a jack alone; use safety stands to prevent injury.
The jounce bumper is a factory component located under the frame (on 2WD models) or bolted to a bracket welded to the frame (on 4WD models). Yes, you must unbolt and remove it to install the air spring assemblies. The jounce bumper is replaced by the air spring system.
The cutout in the upper frame bracket (B) must face inboard, away from the tire, on both sides of the frame. Install using M10-1.5 x 35 button-head cap screws (J) and torque to 37 lb.-ft. (50 Nm).
Set a roll plate (F) on top of the air spring (E1 or E2) with the radiused or rounded edge facing downward into the air spring. Install the 90-degree swivel elbow fitting (P) into the top of the air spring, finger-tight plus 1½ turns. Then install the upper air spring bracket (C) using 3/8"-24 button-head cap screws (N or S) and torque to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
The long flanges of the lower bracket must be on the opposite side of the fitting at the top of the air spring assemblies. This ensures proper alignment and load distribution.
No. When installing the lower bracket onto the air spring assemblies using 3/8" x 7/8" hex-cap screws (M or T), 3/8" lock washers (O or U), and 3/8" flat washers (L or Q), leave the hardware finger-tight at this stage. Final torquing occurs after the assemblies are positioned on the vehicle.
On early-model trucks with a hard brake line behind the axle and mounted away from it (gap between axle and brake line), position the lower bracket carriage bolt that will be behind the axle between the brake line and the axle. This prevents interference.
On late-model trucks with a hard brake line and possibly an ABS harness mounted flush to the axle (no gap), position the driver's (left) side lower bracket carriage bolt on the outside of the brake line. On the passenger's (right) side, the carriage bolt is always on the outside of the brake line on all models.
Push the lower brackets up against the leaf spring pack so the front and back legs lock around the stock U-bolts. Set the supplied U-bolt (G) around the spring stack and through the bracket legs. Install 3/8" flat washers (L) over the U-bolts and cap with 3/8" nylon lock nuts (K). Draw the hardware snug only (do not tighten yet), ensuring the lower bracket stays nested against the leaf spring pack. After installing and torquing the clamp bar hardware to 16 lb.-ft. (22 Nm), torque the leaf spring U-bolt to 10 lb.-ft. (14 Nm).
Install the clamp bar (A) over the long lower bracket carriage bolts under the axle and cap with 3/8" flat washers (L) and 3/8" nylon lock nuts (K). Tighten the hardware evenly and torque to 16 lb.-ft. (22 Nm).
After torquing the lower clamp bar hardware to 16 lb.-ft. (22 Nm), torque the leaf spring U-bolt that was previously snugged to 10 lb.-ft. (14 Nm).
Using the slot in the lower bracket, push the bottom of the air spring in or out to align it perpendicular (or as perpendicular as possible) to the upper and lower brackets. Torque the lower bracket/air spring hardware to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm). Then, using the slot in the upper bracket, push the top of the air spring forward or backward to align it perpendicular to both brackets. Torque the upper bracket hardware to 31 lb.-ft. (42 Nm). Once tight, the brackets may not appear parallel; this is normal and acceptable.
Torque the upper bracket hardware to 31 lb.-ft. (42 Nm) after aligning the air spring perpendicular to both the upper and lower brackets.
Torque the lower bracket/air spring hardware to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
Install the upper air spring bracket (C) onto the air spring assemblies using 3/8"-24 button-head cap screws (N or S) and torque to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
Install the upper frame brackets (B) using M10-1.5 x 35 button-head cap screws (J) and torque to 37 lb.-ft. (50 Nm).
The manual recommends three locations for the Schrader valve: (A) inside the fuel tank filler door, (B) inside the rear wheel wells, or (C) in the license plate or rear bumper area. Choose a location that provides convenient access for inflation and pressure checks.
Drill a 5/16" (8 mm) hole for each Schrader valve location. Use a sharp 5/16" drill bit and heavy-duty drill.
Make clean, square cuts with a razor blade or hose cutter. Do not use scissors or wire cutters, as these will crush or fray the air line and create leaks.
Use zip ties (BB) to secure the air line to fixed points along the chassis. Do not pinch or kink the air line. Leave at least 2" (51 mm) of slack to allow for vehicle movement. The minimum bend radius for the air line is 1" (25 mm). Maintain at least 6" (152 mm) of clearance between all air lines and the exhaust system, and avoid sharp bends and edges.
Maintain at least 6" (152 mm) of clearance between all air lines and the exhaust system. Avoid sharp bends and edges that could damage the air line.
The minimum bend radius for the air line is 1" (25 mm). Avoid sharp bends that could kink or damage the line.
Leave at least 2" (51 mm) of slack in the air line to allow for any movement that might pull on the air line during vehicle operation.
The heat shield protects the nylon air line from heat damage caused by proximity to the exhaust system. Attach the metal heat shield to the exhaust where it is closest to the air spring. Slide the air line thermal sleeve over the nylon air line and place it where the air line is closest to the exhaust. Maintain at least 1/2" (13 mm) of dead air space between the shield and exhaust.
Attach the metal heat shield to the exhaust where it is closest to the air spring. Slide the air line thermal sleeve over the nylon air line and place it where the air line is closest to the exhaust. Bend the tabs on the shield as needed and double the hose clamps if necessary. Maintain at least 1/2" (13 mm) of dead air space between the shield and exhaust.
The minimum recommended air pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR). Always maintain normal ride height and never inflate beyond 100 PSI (7 BAR).
Check air pressure weekly. Always maintain normal ride height and never inflate beyond 100 PSI (7 BAR).
Use a soapy water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core. Identify the source of the leak before deflating and removing the air spring. Repair or replace the leaking component as needed.
Do not exceed the maximum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) or payload rating as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer. The LoadLifter 5000 provides load-leveling support but does not increase your vehicle's weight capacity.
Inflate the air springs to 40–60 PSI (2.8–4.1 BAR) and ensure at least 1/2" (13 mm) clearance from anything that might rub against each sleeve. Check the tire, brakes, frame, shock absorbers, and brake cables on both sides.
Inflate the air springs to 40–60 PSI (2.8–4.1 BAR) and check all connections for leaks. All leaks must be eliminated before the vehicle is road-tested.
After 500 miles (800 km), recheck all bolts for proper torque. This ensures that all fasteners remain secure after initial vehicle operation.
After passing the initial tests, inflate the air springs to recommended driving pressures and drive the vehicle 10 miles (16 km). Recheck for clearance, loose fasteners, and air leaks. The vehicle should operate smoothly without rubbing or unusual noises.
Check air pressure weekly. Always maintain normal ride height and never inflate beyond 100 PSI (7 BAR). If the system develops an air leak, use a soapy water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core before deflating and removing the air spring. After 500 miles, recheck all bolts for proper torque.
The air spring in kit 88295 (E1) compresses to 2 5/16" (58 mm) and extends to 9 1/8" (231 mm). The air spring in kit 88297 (E2) compresses to 2 5/16" (58 mm) and extends to 7 11/16" (196 mm). Air springs should not be the suspension limiter in either compression or extension.
A distance of 4" (102 mm) or greater must be maintained between the upper and lower bracket for kit 88297 (2WD). Add sufficient pressure to maintain this height.
Air springs will last much longer if they are not the suspension limiter in either compression or extension. Regardless of the load, adjust air pressure so that normal ride height is maintained at all times. The shock absorber is usually the limiter on extension. If this is not the case, consider using limiting straps, particularly for off-road vehicles.
Yes. Once the assemblies are adjusted and tight, ensure the brake lines on the back (both sides) do not come in contact with the rear carriage bolts. Adjust by pushing the line over to gain clearance if necessary. Also check that the hard brake line is not rubbing on the carriage bolts during alignment.
Use a soapy water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core to identify the source of the leak. Once located, deflate and remove the air spring. Repair or replace the leaking component. Do not operate the vehicle with a leaking system.
Check both the driver's (left) and passenger's (right) sides to ensure the hard brake line is not rubbing on the carriage bolts. Adjust by pushing the line to gain clearance if necessary. This check should be performed during alignment and after final torquing.
This condition is acceptable and normal. The upper and lower brackets are designed to not be parallel once tight due to the way the mounts are designed. Some variance from one unit to another is considered normal and does not indicate improper installation.
After 500 miles (800 km), recheck all bolts for proper torque and retighten as needed. This is part of the standard post-installation inspection and maintenance procedure.
