The LoadLifter 7500 XL Ultimate offers support for the heaviest tows with an internal jounce bumper, absorbing shock for the smoothest ride. Air Lift’s fully adjustable, industry-leading air springs are the perfect upgrade for your vehicle, eliminating any issues you might face when towing and hauling. The LoadLifter 7500 XL Ultimate kit from Air Lift will give you the ability to drive select RAM 2500 two-wheel and four-wheel drive with added safety and comfort. Designed with an internal jounce bumper, the kit offers greater leveling strength for your ride at lower pressures. The kit’s 7-inch double-bellows air springs provide up to 7,500 lbs. of load-leveling capacity and help eliminate squat, trailer sway, body roll and bottoming out, keeping your cargo safe and secure while also ensuring a more comfortable ride. The closed-cell urethane foam jounce bumper inside the air spring provides a cushion of air that absorbs shock, eliminates harsh jarring on rough roads, and protects vehicles carrying heavy loads. An Air Lift exclusive, the kit features upper and lower roll plates for added protection. All end caps are made with an ultra-high-strength nylon composite formula, strong as steel but much lighter and corrosion-proof. The air springs are built like tires, reinforced with 2-ply fabric for maximum strength. With the added stability that air springs provide, you can haul safely, knowing that you have optimal braking and steering control. Yes. The first step is to raise the vehicle, support the frame with safety stands, and remove the wheels. The axle must then be dropped to make room for the air spring assemblies to be positioned between the frame and axle.
On some models, there is a small vent tube on the driver's (left) side by the axle. It must be tied at an angle with a zip tie (included, part 10466) by inserting the zip tie into the small hole in the lower coil spring seat, around the vent tube, and snugging it enough to angle the tube out of the way. This prevents interference with the air spring assembly installation.
Yes. The jounce bumpers must be removed from both sides before installing the air spring assemblies. The lower bracket will later be positioned over the lower jounce bumper strike plate.
Attach the upper frame bracket (part 07160) to the frame using the M10-1.50 x 35 button-head cap screws (part 17366). The large hole in the bracket must face outward toward the tire. Torque the mounting hardware to 30 lb.-ft. (41 Nm).
1. Set a roll plate (part 11897) over the top of each air spring (part 58120) with the radiused edge toward the air spring. 2. Insert the 3/8"-16 x 1 1/4" carriage bolt (part 17361) through the upper air spring bracket (part 07161) square hole. 3. Set the bracket onto the air spring and attach using 3/8"-24 x 3/4" button-head cap screws (part 17527), torqued to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm). 4. Install the swivel fitting (part 21837) finger-tight plus 1 1/2 turns. 5. Install the large flat washer (part 18260) onto the lower bracket (part 03038) with a 3/8"-16 x 1 1/4" hex-head cap screw (part 17188) and 3/8"-16 nylon lock nut (part 18435), torqued to 31 lb.-ft. (42 Nm). 6. Insert the long 3/8"-16 x 10" carriage bolts (part 17387) into the lower bracket square holes. 7. Set a roll plate over the bottom and attach the lower bracket using 3/8"-24 x 3/4" button-head cap screws (part 17527), torqued to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
The upper air spring brackets are mirror images when set onto the air springs—the driver's (left) side and passenger's (right) side assemblies are different. The large washer on the lower bracket must be positioned on the same side as the air fittings. When attaching to the frame, the large washer on the bottom of the bracket should be positioned forward of the lower jounce bumper strike plate.
When setting the driver's (left) side assembly on the axle, the carriage bolt (part 17387) must go between the brake line and the axle, on the inboard side of the brake line bracket. This applies to both sides. The carriage bolts and fittings must line up with the holes in the frame brackets, and if necessary, raise the axle so the brackets come together without binding.
The upper frame bracket (part 07160) mounting hardware must be torqued to 30 lb.-ft. (41 Nm).
The 3/8"-24 x 3/4" button-head cap screws (part 17527) attaching the upper air spring bracket (part 07161) to the air spring must be torqued to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
The 3/8"-16 x 1 1/4" hex-head cap screw (part 17188) and 3/8"-16 nylon lock nut (part 18435) attaching the large flat washer (part 18260) to the lower bracket (part 03038) must be torqued to 31 lb.-ft. (42 Nm).
The 3/8"-24 x 3/4" button-head cap screws (part 17527) attaching the lower bracket (part 03038) to the air spring assembly must be torqued to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
The 3/8"-16 serrated flange lock nuts (part 18422) on the upper carriage bolts must be torqued to 16 lb.-ft. (22 Nm). A 9/16" crows foot adapter may be necessary to torque the nut underneath the frame.
The 3/8"-16 serrated flange lock nuts (part 18422) fastening the clamp bar (part 01531) over the two long carriage bolts under the axle must be torqued evenly to 10 lb.-ft. (14 Nm).
Yes, if necessary. You must choose the locations for the Schrader valves and drill a 5/16" (8mm) hole if one does not already exist. The manual suggests three common locations: inside the fuel tank filler door, inside rear wheel wells, or in the license plate or rear bumper area.
1. Cut the air line in half using a razor blade or hose cutter, making clean, square cuts. Do not use scissors or wire cutters. 2. Use zip ties to secure the air line to fixed points along the chassis without pinching or kinking it. Leave at least 2" (51mm) of slack to allow for movement. The minimum bend radius is 1" (25mm). 3. Keep at least 6" (152mm) clearance between all air lines and the exhaust system. 4. Install the Schrader valve in the chosen location.
The maximum inflation pressure is 100 PSI (7 BAR). However, the actual air pressure needed depends on load and gross vehicle weight rating. Never inflate beyond 100 PSI.
The minimum recommended pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR). Check air pressure weekly and always maintain normal ride height.
There must be more than 1/2" (13mm) clearance between the tire and the upper roll plate on the air spring assembly. Check clearances after installing the tires and if changing tire sizes on the vehicle.
Maintain at least 6" (152mm) clearance between air springs and air lines and heat sources such as the exhaust system. If a heat shield was included in the kit, install it. If one is required but not included, contact Air Lift customer service at (800) 248-0892.
No. Do not exceed the maximum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) or payload rating as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer. Exceeding these limits can damage the vehicle and create a safety hazard.
Perform the following checks: 1. Clearance test—inflate to 40-60 PSI and verify at least 1/2" (13mm) clearance from the tire, brakes, frame, shock absorbers and brake cables. 2. Leak test—inflate to 40-60 PSI and check all connections for leaks before road testing. 3. Heat test—verify at least 6" (152mm) clearance from heat sources. 4. Fastener test—recheck all bolts for proper torque. 5. Road test—drive 10 miles (16km) and recheck for clearance, loose fasteners and air leaks.
Use a spray bottle with a dish soap and water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core. If the system develops an air leak, identify and fix all leaks before deflating and removing the air spring. Perform this check before road testing and periodically during maintenance.
Check air pressure weekly. Always maintain normal ride height and never inflate beyond 100 PSI (7 BAR).
