This particular model is constructed from strong carbon steel and finished in a durable E-coat and semi-gloss black powder coat finish to outlast rust and the elements. Other available finishes include high-gloss black stainless steel, polished stainless steel and textured black steel. Customizing the look of your vehicle is simple with the ARIES 2-1/2" bull bar. It is equipped with pre-drilled light mounting holes and a removable skid plate. The center crossbar features two pre-drilled holes that readily accept an LED light bar or two LED work lights. The skid plate is made from 304 stainless steel and has a brushed finish to stop rust and hide scratches and scuffs. It also features an aggressive, ARIES-exclusive cutout pattern and can be removed for a customized look. Each ARIES 2-1/2" bull bar is made a vehicle-specific design, meaning that for each make and model, the bull bar has a custom bend and unique mounting brackets. This allows for the best possible fit on your vehicle and ensures solid attachment. The brackets also use pre-existing factory holes in the vehicle's frame to eliminate drilling, speed up installation and increase rigidity. This bull bar fits select model years of the Jeep Grand Cherokee (see application info to verify fitment).

The metal skid shield is bolted to the vehicle towards the back. You must also remove a plastic insert tucked above the bottom lip of the bumper to expose the front tow hook bolts.
The manual specifies a flat tip screwdriver for prying out plastic tabs and push pins from the skid shield. No other specific tools are listed. Standard tools for removing and installing bolts and nuts will be required.

Start with the driver/left side bracket. Remove the factory tow hook and tow hook housing, then attach the driver/left mounting bracket to the frame using the factory tow hook housing bolts. Snug but do not tighten. Repeat the same process for the passenger/right side bracket. Once both brackets are in place, position the bull bar and secure it with the included hardware.
On each side, locate and remove the large nut on the back side of the tow hook. Then remove the two factory front bolts holding the front of the tow hook in place. The tow hooks will slide forward out from the bumper. After removing the tow hooks, remove the 2 bolts securing the tow hook housing to the bottom of the frame.
The driver/left and passenger/right mounting brackets attach to the bottom of the frame rail using the factory bolts that previously held the tow hook housings in place. The brackets are secured in the same location as the tow hook housings were attached.
Position the bull bar to the mounting brackets with help. The brackets go to the inside of the bull bar. Secure using the included 4 × 10mm x 35mm hex head bolts, 4 × 10mm lock washers, 8 × 10mm flat washers, and 4 × 10mm hex nuts (2 bolts, 2 lock washers, 4 flat washers, and 2 nuts per side). Snug but do not tighten hardware at this time.
After positioning and leveling the bull bar, tighten all hardware. The manual instructs to snug but not tighten hardware during bracket and bull bar attachment, then tighten everything once the bull bar is level and adjusted.
Yes. After the bull bar is secured and all hardware is tightened, reinstall the plastic insert behind the bumper and secure the skid shield with the factory fasteners.
