ARIES 3" side bars add a custom look and dependable footing to your truck, Jeep or SUV. They feature a classic style, a strong design and non-skid step pads. ARIES nerf bars are all made vehicle-specific for a custom, no-drill fit, and they are available in multiple finish options. This set of nerf bars is constructed from 304 stainless steel with a polished finish. Our 304 stainless steel is a true stainless with high nickel content, offering better corrosion resistance and a long-lasting finish. The polish is a triple application, resulting in a mirror-like shine to complement your vehicle. ARIES 3" round side bars also come with high-strength steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets -- as well as the side bars and step pads -- are custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the nerf bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. This ensures easy, no-drill installation and the strength necessary to provide solid footing. This particular set of custom nerf bars fits specific years of the Ram 1500, 2500 or 3500 and Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 or 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of polypropylene. These wide, custom-positioned step pads feature a textured pattern and cover a wide portion of the tubes to be more comfortable and high-traction, even in wet conditions.

The kit includes: 2 side bars (driver and passenger), 2 front mounting brackets, 2 rear mounting brackets, 5 M8 hex bolts, 4 M10 hex bolts, 4 M12 hex bolts, 7 M8 flat washers, 4 M10 flat washers, 8 M12 flat washers (4 x 32mm and 4 standard), 7 M8 lock washers, 4 M10 lock washers, 8 M12 lock washers, 2 M8 hex nuts, 4 M12 hex nuts, 2 M8 bolt plates, 4 M12 bolt/nut plates, 4 M8 plastic retainers, and 4 M12 plastic retainers.

Yes. On the driver side, locate the two mounting locations underneath the vehicle and remove the tape plug from each hole before inserting the bolt plates.
Installation follows this sequence: (1) Start on the driver side and locate the two mounting locations underneath the vehicle. (2) Remove tape plugs and insert M8 bolt plate and M12 bolt/nut plate with plastic retainers. (3) Secure the driver-side front mounting bracket (procedure varies by vehicle year). (4) Install the rear bracket on the driver side. (5) Attach the driver-side bar to the brackets with M10 bolts, snugging but not fully tightening. (6) Adjust and level the side bar. (7) Repeat the same process on the passenger side. (8) After all brackets are tightened to the vehicle, fully tighten the side bar connections.
Snug the hardware during initial bracket installation, but do not fully tighten. After the side bar is in position and adjusted to level, tighten all brackets to the vehicle first, followed by the side bar connections. This ensures proper alignment before final torquing.
Place the driver-side front mounting bracket onto the vehicle. Secure the left side with an M12 flat washer, M12 lock washer and M12 hex nut on the bolt plate, plus two M8 hex bolts, two M8 flat washers and two M8 lock washers on the bottom. Finish securing the right side with an M8 flat washer, M8 lock washer and M8 hex nut. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten. Note: The M10 nut on the M12 bolt plate will not be used on vehicles with threaded inserts.
Install the bracket as directed in Step 3A using the provided M8 bolt plate and M12 bolt/M10 nut plate. Then align the M10 nut with one of the bottom holes in the rocker panel and secure with an M10 hex bolt, lock washer and nut.
Insert an M12 bolt/nut plate into the slot in the rocker panel and secure the M12 stud with a plastic retainer. Place the rear bracket in position. Secure the top of the bracket with a flat washer, lock washer and nut. For 2015 and newer models with M8 factory inserts, secure the bottom with one M8 hex bolt, lock washer and flat washer. For 2015 and older models without M8 factory inserts, rotate the bolt plate to position the nut behind the lower mounting position and secure with an M10 hex bolt, flat washer and lock washer.
Place the side bar onto the brackets and align the mounting holes with the holes in the brackets on the vehicle. Attach the side bar using two M10 hex bolts, two M10 lock washers and two M10 flat washers. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten until after the bar is leveled and all brackets are secured to the vehicle.
After placing the side bar in position, use a level to adjust the bar until it is level. Once leveled, tighten all brackets to the vehicle first, followed by the side bar connections.
M8 bolts should be torqued to 7 ft.-lbs.
