ARIES 3" side bars are more than a fancy decal for your truck, Jeep or SUV. They are a confident first step on each new adventure. These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Ram 1500 (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

Remove all contents from the box and verify all parts are present. Read all instructions carefully before starting. Use a wire brush or thread die to remove paint buildup from the three factory studs at the front mounting location and from the factory body bolts at both front and rear mounting locations. Clean threads on body bolts to remove paint buildup before reinstalling.
Start with the driver/left side. Install the front mounting bracket first, then the front support bracket, then the rear mounting bracket and rear support bracket. Attach the sidebar to both front and rear brackets with bolts left loose. Repeat the entire sequence for the passenger/right side. Finally, level and adjust both sidebars and fully tighten all hardware.
Locate the three factory studs along the inner side of the body panel on the driver/left side. Place the driver/left front mounting bracket over the studs with the flat side against the body panel. Attach using three 8mm flat washers and three 8mm nylon lock nuts. Leave the bracket loose at this time.
Locate the factory body mount next to the installed mounting bracket. Remove the factory body bolt and washer, clean the threads to remove paint buildup, then reinstall the bolt through the upper slot of the support bracket back into the body mount. Reuse the original factory body bolt and washer. Repeat this process at both front and rear locations.
With assistance, line up the front end of the sidebar tube with the front bracket. Attach using one 1/2" × 2" hex bolt, one 1/2" lock washer, and one 1/2" flat washer. Do not tighten. Move to the rear and repeat with the rear bracket. After both ends are attached, level and adjust the sidebar as necessary, then fully tighten all hardware.
Leaving the bolts loose allows you to level and adjust the sidebar as necessary before final tightening. This ensures proper alignment and fit.
