These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Ford F-150, F-150 Lightning, F-250 Super Duty, F-350 Super Duty, F-450 Super Duty and F-550 Super Duty (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

The plastic washers are designed to prevent corrosion between the aluminum body panel and the steel mounting brackets. They must be installed on all factory mounting studs before attaching the brackets. Do not install the brackets without the plastic washers.
Three mounting brackets are used per sidebar: one at the front, one in the center, and one at the rear. Each bracket attaches to three factory studs on the body panel.
Each mounting bracket uses three 8mm flat washers and three 8mm nylon lock nuts, fastened to the three factory mounting studs. The plastic washers must be slid over the studs first, before the flat washers and lock nuts are installed.

No. When attaching the mounting brackets to the factory studs, snug but do not fully tighten the hardware. When attaching the sidebar to the brackets, do not tighten the hardware initially. After positioning and leveling the sidebar, then tighten all hardware.
No. Do not slide the sidebar front to back or rotate it on the brackets, as damage to the finish on the sidebar may result. Carefully position the sidebar onto the mounting brackets without sliding or rotating.
Yes. All six mounting brackets are universal and will fit on either the left (driver) or right (passenger) side of the vehicle.
Install the passenger/right sidebar first, then repeat the same process for the driver/left sidebar. For each side: locate the three factory mounting locations, install plastic washers on the studs, attach the three mounting brackets with flat washers and lock nuts (snug but not fully tight), position the sidebar on the brackets, attach with hex bolts and lock washers (not tight), level and adjust the sidebar, then tighten all hardware.
Wax the product after installing to protect the finish. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer. For stainless steel finishes, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used to clean. For gloss black finishes, use only mild soap to clean. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives, as these could damage the finish.
